Arthur Logan is a soldier with the US Air Force and Jigsaw Soul is his first person narrative. Arthur has fought two wars in the Middle East, Desert Storm in 1990 and the invasion of Iraq in 2003. This novel was written in 2012 and is available as a 1034 KB Amazon Kindle eBook.

Jigsaw Soul is a very powerful book, it is not a glamourous boys' hero book where the good guys win. Jigsaw Soul is all about the horrors of war and men behaving badly. This novel starts off in Iraq where Arthur claims to
I cannot remember the last time a book invaded my psyche like Jigsaw Soul did this past week. Jigsaw Soul not only invaded my psyche but it completely took over. I was consumed with Arthur's story and his journey. I was consumed with all of the characters (Katie and Hank, Medusa, Aswas, and Patton were among my other favorites). They were in my head all day and I dreamed about them at night. I would actually dream about Jigsaw Soul and watch Arthur's journey unfold. Aswas visited me during my dr ...more

If you are willing to take a very powerful journey into the mind of a veteran suffering from PTSD at an almost epic scale, you NEED to read this book. Although parts of it read just a little slow for me (the descriptions of military weapons and procedures...I have the same reaction when I read Tom Clancy, much as I love him), once I got past those pages, I found myself so deep in the story that I fully expected to hear Pave Hawks approaching at any moment. As the story progressed, I found myself ...more

"...I looked to the south at the coming monsoon. It walked toward us on lightning legs..." I've always loved to read, but a string of words like that make reading a joy. The premise was intriguing and kept my attention. A bit graphic in the gore for some I'm sure, but I like Sandman Slim, so that was right up my alley.
I received this through First Reads for free. I really loved this book. It was horrifying to read because of the gruesome details, but I could not put it down. I read this straight through in one night.

My family once owned Burma-Shave, known for its memorable roadside jingles, so using language to engage people is in my blood. With a degree in English, I have been writing for a long time, but JIGSAW SOUL has been my priority for the last few years. I leaned on my experience as a former infantry officer and current English teacher to create this story, and I was fortunate to sharpen the manuscrip ...more
