I give this book at least twenty stars. I have NEVER read any other book more powerful to me than this one. Not only is this a romance and love story, it is a story of forgiveness, transformation in peoples lives, acceptance and love. A young woman named Maggie Montgomery comes to the Ayers home to be the nanny of Lizzy and Peter. The Ayers are very wealthy in materialism only. Keith Ayers is the first son of Conrad Ayers. He lost his mother as a child. Maggie thinks at first that he is just a h...more
Whilst Maggie Montgomery struggles to fit into a world that seems like it's cut a few sizes too big for her, Keith Ayer struggles to earn his father love by doing what everybody expects from him. Maggie is an orphan turned nanny, whilst Keith is the son of a billionaire about to marry the daughter of a state senator. Years earlier, a tragic accident took away the glue that held their lives together and just as the circumstances were intertwined, soon their hearts followed.

Though I generally prefer Christian historical fiction, every once in awhile I will go for a contemporary romance. This one caught my eye, not only because I really liked the cover, but I also have a penchant for stories set in the West. While Stallings is less subtle in her use of Christian themes, prayer, and Biblical passages than a lot of the Christian fiction I read, those elements were not too over the top for my tastes. Overall, I thought Deep In...more

Grab yourself a tall glass of Texas sweet tea, and curl up with “Deep in the Heart”, a new romance by Staci Stallings. It roped me in from the start, putting me right there in the too-big shoes of MAGGIE MONTGOMERY, the fish-out-of-water poor girl who suddenly finds herself living on a sprawling Texas ranch. Feeling totally out of place as the new nanny to the two children of the ranch owner and his second wife, she tries to live up to their impossible expectations.

Strong storyline with some very likable characters, as well as some not-so-likable ones, in this new-to-me-author's book. *It was not and should have been noted that this is an inspirational story with heavy emphasis on religion.* There are several romantic moments but behind closed doors. Recent college graduate, who has been raised in foster homes from the age of eight with $2.00 to her name, signs on as a nanny for a millionaire's two adorable children. What she doesn't realize is that there'...more

A good Christian romance novel. Many of the characters experience the transformational power of Christ in their lives, which make the story an uplifting one. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that I thought it took too long for the protagonist/antagonist conflict to fully develop. The characters were believable and the story line was well written. If you know someone who is searching for something to fill the emptiness inside of them, toss 'em a copy of this book. You and they will find...more
This is one of the best books I have ever read. It deserves 100 stars. Maggie Montgomery was raised in the foster care system after loosing both her parents in a car accident when she was eight years old. Keith Ayers, son of a billionair, lost his mother when he was 12. With the will of God these two were thrown together. Maggie was given a job as a Nanny to Mr. Conrad Ayer's two youngest children, and from the first day she could tell that Keith was different than any other she had met, not to...more
Not doing so good. Third book in a row that I realized I had read in the past. Maggie Montgomery becomes nanny to the elite Texas family of the Ayers. She soon learns that the Ayer children are only for display and not much love is shown to them. She soon becomes romantically involved with the older son, Keith. However, there are many hurdles to overcome before she can declare her love for him.
This was an awesome book! Staci Stallings is an incredible writer. I fall in love with her characters; like I'm living the story.
Absolutely lived Keith and Maggie, the two main characters. Didn't care for Dallas or Ike, two of the secondary characters. Keith, the rich kid, has tried it all to please his dad and to try and make himself happy. Maggie, the poor kid, ends up in the world of the rich and famous, teaching them all love and forgiveness.

This is my all time favorite novel. I like the way the love story was developed and how the author the book to share the Gospel to those of us who read it. I truly enjoyed to book from cover to cover. It is definitely a sweet love story with an unexpected twist at the end. I highly recommended to those of us who like to read romance
A new-to-me-author. I enjoyed this book, although the connection (car crash) between the 2 characters was a bit contrived. I did not like the quick-fix in regards to the dad and step-mom as well as the fleshing out of their changes of heart. I did like the love story and how the use of scripture was used.
