This book reads like a noir film from the fifties, but with the inimitable spicy flavor provided by a smartass Cuban MC. Set in Miami, this contemporary crime story has a wealth of funny one-liners, delicious food and drink references, and nicely mature characters. Makes a nice change from the majority of books I've read recently, where the MCs are always in the twenties to thirties age range, with all that implies. This is just not my cup of tea.
The pulpy misogynistic style coupled with modern-day references to cell phones and Facebook put me off and I found the main character way too perfect -- by which I mean he didn't seem to have any problems other than being an egotistical douchecanoe.
Other people seemed to have liked it, so maybe it's just me.

The book was great. Very easy reading. It was like I was having the conversation with the author. Funny, sarcastic, interesting. I am looking forward to see what happens to Mr Santana!!! in the future.
