Becs - Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews
Need is the second instalment in Stephan and Brianna’s story with Brianna taking yet more baby steps down the road to recovery.

In Slave, Stephan had rescued Brianna from enforced and brutal sexual slavery and taken her to live at his apartment. Slowly, through tender loving care from Stephan, she’s managed to move on from absolute terror of him to trusting him and feeling safe with him. Slave ends with Stephan explaining to Brianna that he ‘bought’ her to rescue her and that she is free to leave...more

"I could be Anna again."

Need begins where Slave left off. Confused Brianna is told by Stephan that yes, he bought her but she is not his slave. That if she wants to leave she can...

We get deeper into the story between Stephan and Brianna and their relationship begins to grow and flourish under their new roles. Brianna is still unsure who she is but is changing day by day...more

I found myself liking this more than Slave. Shut up, JP, it's not because (view spoiler)[there was actually sex in this book - and hot sex at that (hide spoiler)], but because this book did what a lot of the first book failed to do - connect with the characters.

I liked that this book had pretty much even points of view from Stephan and Brianna because it let me how differently two people perceive the same scene. Also, in book 1, I was unable to really feel Stephan's frustration and Bria...more

3.5 Stars, and rounding up!

Need picks up exactly where we left it. The story continues as Brianna and Stephan continue to work toward the seemingly daunting task of healing Brianna.
After the 10 months of torture and rape at the hands of a sadistic Master Ian, Brianna is learning to find herself again. It's a slow slow process that once again exposes the extent of Brianna's trauma. It is a heartbreaking and frustrating process that reveals Stephan's complete and utter devotion to her.

First off, I have a confession to make: My favorite part of the first book was the way that Brianna would kneel when Stephan came into the room and call him Master. Like Stephan, I hated how she got to that point and she needed to stop doing it if she was going to make another step toward normalcy, so I am glad that she was no longer doing it but...

Anyway, enough about me...

Need is the second installment in the Finding Anna series and, let me tell you, if you liked the journey started in Slave you'll fall in love with this.

I started Need right after Slave, where we were left with Stephan having just told Brianna that he didn't buy her in order to have a slave and that she's free. After everything, Brianna can finally choose what to do with her life... keep living with Stephan, the only man she actually trust, or leaving him, even if she's still trying to learn how...more

I am totally hooked on this series! Sherri Hayes can’t write these fast enough for me. How long do I have to wait until the third one? And YES, there is going to be a third one or I will personally picket Ms. Haye’s house until she writes it! You have been warned Ms. Hayes!

Brianna is such a strong and brave woman. She has suffered through so much and yet her will to live and fight has remained strong. Stephan finding h...more

Stephan is only twenty five years old? How is this possible? In this second installment of Finding Anna, Stephan continues to help Brianna adjust to life after Ian. His patience and mature is impressive in some ways. Brianna’s issues are overwhelming. Stephan seems to think he can help her overcome her fears and move her forward.

This book is one long shrink session. It is exhausting. The storyline requires Stephan to use some D/s techniques as therapy for Anna. While it works in the storyline,...more

OH.

MY.

GOD.

I don't even know where to begin. First off, let me just start by saying... last night I was extremely upset/annoyed, because I had accidentally spent 10 dollars on the wrong E-book... one that I did not own the proper device to be able to read it on.... Then when I finally found the RIGHT e-book, I had to spend another 8 dollars... but, I was so excited about getting my hands on this book to find out what happened next after "Slave" left me wanting more MONTHS ago, I would have paid...more

This is my non spoilery review. I'll release a more spoilery one closer to the release date.

In her past, if Brianna didn't address her owner as "Master", she would be beaten. If she didn't kneel for him, she would be beaten. Even the tiniest of mistakes would land her in an unimaginable amount of pain. Her past will always haunt her. Even though she feels safe with Stephan, if she feels as though she has even a toe out of line, the torture she endured will always creep back into her mind. Now, s...more

I am so loving this series. I have completely fallen head over heels for Stephen for the amount of patience and love he has for Brianna. I am absolutely loving how confident Brianna is becoming in her relationship with Stephen. Watching the way Brianna begins to trust again is heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. I honestly can not wait for more!

Awesome, Sherri Hayes! Stephan and Brianna move forward to heal the emotional damage wrought in months of slavery at the hands of Ian Pierce. As trust and patience build so does the sexual tension! This second installment of the Finding Anna series is just as satisfying as the first and leaves you hungry for more....and I will be waiting for more from Sherri Hayes. A new must buy author for me!

Thank you to the publisher for graciously providing this ARC!

This second book in a trilogy now moves Brianna and Stephan forward in their relationship and brings Brianna face to face with what she can make of her life now that she realizes that she is no longer a slave. What is her future going to be? What about her father? What is her relationship with Stephan? Will he put her aside, put her out of his life, out of his home--where she has finally found a haven from pain and torture? It is a compelling continuation of the study of how one woman must rebui...more

2.5 stars. This series kind of feels like one book being drawn out into several. Very little plot movement and very repetitive. There are only so many times I want to read about them eating, her freaking out, her crying, her sitting on his lap, etc. Plus, Stephan doesn't speak like any 25 year old male that I've ever known. He's not very masculine when he uses words like shall, lovely and delighted. Dom he may be, but alpha male he is not. But then, maybe I just don't like my heroes to be perfec...more

Need picks up right where the first book in the series left off, with Anna trying to figure out how to live her life as a free woman and trying to get to terms with what happened to her.

I liked this book better than the first one. First of all, while the emotional roller-coaster was still very much present, there was a big development in Anna and Stephan's relationship, more so than in Slave. I kept hoping they'd get past one point and when they did, I was very happy for them.

Second of all, we g...more

So, at the end of Slave (Book 1) Brianna realises that she is no longer a Slave and never was a Slave to Stephan. She has choices which she clearly shows when she decides to sit on the couch next to him rather than sit on his lap on their chair. A brave move for her.

In Need (Book 2 in the Finding Anna Series) we find Brianna finally deciding that she does actually want Stephan. Although she doesn't understand her feelings in the beginning, especially when it comes to him, she learns over the cou...more

Ang and I did a review and decided to interview ourselves!

Describe Need in three words:

Suz: Emotional. Sweet. Cliffhanger!!
Angela: Coming of Age story. Sweet and Hope.

How do you feel the relationship between Brianna and Stephen is going? Do you think it is heading in the right direction?

Suz: I am really loving reading how close Brianna and Stephen are getting, it was exactly what I was hoping for! Although I don't like how dependent she is on him, I love that she is abl...more

I want to start by saying I have not read the first book in this series but it is not necessary to get the story or to feel invested in the out come. I will be reading book 1 though as I think it will be a great story, just like this one.

I think what I liked most about this book is that nothing was rushed, Brianna has been through something horrific and Stephen rescued her from it and is helping her heal. This is a long and slow process and I like...more

Thanks to Net Galley for this arc.
The main characters have a special relationship Bdsm but very different and profund.
What I love about this type of relationship is the fact Stephan althought take all the decisions regarding their relationship he take the decisions trying to help her because the most important thing for him is to make her happy .Stephen is very protective with her.He help her to be normal again ,let her to take his own decisions and help her to make plans for the future.

This story starts immediately after the story in Slave finished. We find Brianna Reeves reflecting on what Stephen Coleman told her the previous evening; that even though he had bought her from Ian she is not his slave. While this revelation should make her feel easier, Brianna finds herself more insecure and confused then ever before. If she’s not his slave then what is she, why is he keeping her and what is expected of her? If she’s not his slave does that mean she will have to leave the only...more

3 stars, Need starts were Slave ended, Brianna has to come to grips with being free and choosing if she wants to be with Stephan. In Need we follow Brianna and Stephan as there relationship continues to develope and Brianna continues to come to grips with being free and choosing to start living her life while leaving her past behind her. Brianna grows in this book and starts to makes decisions about what she wants in her life and how she wants to live her life. Lilly and Logan are again a import...more

Just like the name of the series, Finding Anna, this book was very much about finding Anna again. This poor girl has gone through so much tragedy in her short 18 years of life.

The last book left it open for Brianna to decide if she wanted to stay with Stephan and possibly become his submissive. Brianna is not really sure what all that entails. She is continuously confused and has to reach out to Lily, her only friend and a submissive, to find out what would be required of...more

I’m going with a 3.5 on the second book of the Finding Anna series. Mostly because it came up short for me with the expectations that I had for the story. For those of you who loved the first book I believe you have a very good shot at loving this book. I only really liked the first book and I was hoping for this book to take a specific direction that did not happen for me.

I’ll start with what the Slave lovers will like about this book. Need is the story of what will happen when Anna is given th...more

Need was provided to me as an arc from Net Galley. Luckily, I was able to read it directly after Slave left off with a cliffhanger. I wish I can say the same for book 3. I can't wait!

In Need, Stephan realizes that he has fallen in love with Brianna, and she realizes she is not his slave and doesn't have to stay. But Brianna is so broken, she can't even leave the apartment by herself without having a panic attack. Stephan is wonderful...more

I am loving the ongoing story of Brianna and Stephan, the continual tension fills the pages as the romance builds between them. I am also still thoroughly enjoying the minimal sex content although the book oozes sexual tension constantly throughout but this book does contain a lot more than Slave. The ever revealing discovery of exactly what had happened to Brianna whilst with Ian is just jaw droppingly awful and for such a disturbing scenario Sherri has dealt with the subject incredibly well. I...more

Wow! Well I just had to jump on this one straight after release because I took a gamble on Slave last week and really enjoyed it. I knew that Brianna would still be going through her rehabilitation, with Stephen being her lifeline, but I didn't expect this book to surpass the first. NEED follows on the same suit as Slave, but with it comes character progression, new scenarios and a good sub plot.

I love the way Sherri gives us both character perspective, to divulge in each emotion, each thought a...more

I was fully prepared to give this book 2 or possibly even 3 stars, even though about 50% of it was originally posted online as a Twilight fanfiction called Finding Bella. I more or less expected this, when I requested the ARC, but I wanted to see what the author had done with this story.

Until I got to the end and the cliffhanger with which I was left.

Seriously??? SERIOUSLY??????

I realize this book is the second one in what's advertised as a 4-p...more

Need was a great addition to the Finding Anna series by Sherri Hayes.

I really like how Ms. Hayes is telling Stephan and Brianna's story at a slow pace. It's believable, and the authenticity sets this series apart from other series.

Even though things develop slowly between Brianna and Stephan, a lot still happened in this novel. Brianna made a lot of progress in Need. Keep in mind, she still cries a lot, she still...more

Sherri is the author of several novels, and a short story, A Christmas Proposal. She lives in central Ohio with her husband and three cats. Her mother fostered her love for books at a young age by reading to her as a child. Stories have been floating around in her head for as long as she can remember; however, she didn’t start writing them down until she was thirty. It has become a creative outlet...more
