Paying the Piper by Jaime Samms is short, but even in the few pages I got a real feel for Michael and even, to a lesser extent, Daniel. Needless to say I found the story too short, but that was the only negative. Aaarck, this story is 13 pages and mainly Michael's musing of why his relationship with Daniel doesn't work (Michael has a gambling addiction, and he is not ready to acknowledge it yet). IT IS NOT ENOUGH!!! I can't even feel anything for Michael because the length doesn't give me space to actually do so.

My heart broke for Daniel in this short bittersweet. Daniel is a card dealer in a casino and notices some thugs watching a guy at his table winning. He tells the man, Michael, to cash in and even fronts him the extra money to fully pay his debt. The two men have a love which is shattered by Michael's gambling addiction. Perhaps if the had fought about the real problem and not the results of it they would be happy. This story is narra

When not otherwise occupied, like most writers, reading is my relaxation method of choice, and you can find my reviews at Kuriousity.com and Dark Diva Reviews to let you know what I lik ...more
