I loved this story. Granted, I really like the Vinewars series as a whole, as it hits a sweet spot for me: Rich worlds, with a crispness of text you rarely find in Epic Fantasy. So I knew when I saw the kickstarter, I would have to buy in. I'm glad I did, this was VERY worth it! I got giddy when I saw my name in the list of acknowledgements too. That's a first for me, and it thrilled me!
I bought into this Kickstarter campaign because one of the buy-in levels included a short story set in another Gilman series that I like. I'd never had an interest in the Vineart series, and even after I ended up with this novella it took me a while to try it. I don't like most wines, and I was worried that I'd need to like and understand wines to enjoy this. Thankfully, that was not the case.
