I again have the honor of reviewing one of the best reads in the cozy genre.“Deadly Policy” written by Mitzi Kelly is the second book in Ms. Kelly’s Silver Sleuths Mystery series. The first being “Classic Revenge.”These books have a cast of characters seldom seen in mysteries; three very feisty ladies who made their debut in Classic Revenge and are better at snooping than most of the detective’s in today’s fiction.

Don't mess with Millie!
DEADLY POLICY by MITZI KELLY was such a fun read. This is the second book in the Silver Sleuths Mystery series, but it is a stand alone. I have not had the pleasure of reading Classic Revenge, the first book in the series, and I had no problem following the action in Deadly Policy.
What do you get when you have a tenacious 80 year-old bulldog of a mother, Millie Morrow, a 65 year-old timid, soft spoken, genteel woman, Edna Radcliff, and a 45 year-old woman who is the voice...more

I grabbed this one off the display shelf at the library. It's a cute, light read (um, if you can say "cute and light" about a murder).
I really didn't think I was going to enjoy it at first. Millie is beyond annoying, like an aged Agatha Raisin. The character got better as the story went on. Edna and Trish more than compensate for Millie being so grating. I guess if they both grew spines and didn't let Millie boss them around, there wouldn't be a story, but I think I'd move if Millie lived anywh...more

It's a good cozy. Enjoyable for the most part.
The plot is there. The characters are pretty well-defined. One character is annoying to me with her pushiness- even though her heart is in the right place. But the other 2 characters do a decent job of balancing that character.
