The Fast and the Furious meets Mean Girls in the first book of The Blazing Charm series.

It was clear from the start that Anistasia is a girl with a past and many secrets, and I was intrigued to find out just what her story was. John seemed to be a pretty straight forward character but as the story unfolded, his own secrets came to the surface, revealing that the two have much more in common than their love for fast cars and racing.

This book had plenty of potential, with an exciting plot, but I f...more

I got sucked in pretty quickly to this story of fast cars, young love and yes, the mob! If I had to sum it up in just a few words, I would say that it was a bit like ‘General Hospital goes back to High School’ (What? You don’t have a guilty pleasure!? Come on, no judgement…). The more I got to know the characters, the more I wanted to know MORE…and I was not disappointed. Although, I have a sneaking suspicion there are still plenty of secrets left to be revealed come book number two.

The romance...more

I’m always attracted to these types of books, where the main character has a bad/sad past and they find a guy who loves them for her and they fall in love, and they all seem to be predictable. But after reading I’ve got you covered I totally fell in love with this book.
I instantly connected with the main character, and what her life was all about. There were some parts that dragged on a little bit for me but it was a great book!

The cover reminds me of an adult romance novel though; when I firs...more

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: This novel was an intriguing read. The premise was one that sparked my curiosity and so I figured I'd give it a shot. I received this book as part of the Reading Addiction Blog Tours. For further information, please see the disclosure I've included at the bottom of this post.

The writing style was for the most part intriguing and the plot line was one that caught my attention. I found myself wrapped up in the story and the characters....more

While reading this I had a sort of Romeo and Juliette feeling. Ani is a mobsters princess, John is the son of a mobster. The mob wants Ani back alive or dead at all costs, John mobster father is keeping tabs on him. Without knowing about their involvement with said mob they become friends.

Ani started out strong and tough at the beginning of the book but became a bit of self conscious teenager. I don't understand why she went from being such a strong character who didn't up with anyone's crap to...more

What an original concept for a Young Adult Novel. I loved the mystery and the added threat from the Mafia. I haven't seen many stories like this in the Young Adult world.

I personally loved Anastasia. She is such a strong character who has had to learn to guard herself.

Most of the non-stop action comes at the very end. Until then this story mostly focuses on John's determination to break down Ani's walls and them getting to know each other. Their journey together and learning about each other wa...more

This is the first novel I've read by Toni Sinns, her writing is good, story flowed well, character development was good and the story held my interest. It had some mystery/suspence and of course romance.

This is a story of a young woman named Anistasia who lives with her brother and is attending high school. We first see her you can clearly tell Anistasia is not a happy person and you see she has many secrets. We meet John who of course it looks like he has the bad boy status all wrapped up. John...more

I enjoyed the story line, and liked that the mysteriousness from both Anistasia and John’s past came out bit by bit; it definitely gave the story suspense. I liked that John and Anistasia started out as friends, even though a jealous girlfriend was committed to keep them apart, they manage to truly be friends until something else blossoms. Let me say, the cover is pretty awesome; I especially like the car seen in the background. I was excited to learn that there are car races involved as I am a...more

Review originally posted at Doodle's Book Blog

I was intrigued by the summary and the story was just as good. Toni Sinns wrote an exciting, suspenseful story that I enjoyed reading.

The story opens up to Anistasia's first day of school in a new town. She is getting grins from the guys and glares from the girls as she walks the halls to her first class. After not paying attention and being reprimanded by her teacher in her first class, she gains John's curiosity.

I really liked Anistasia. She is int...more

I should say that I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review. As I writer,I keep my reviews honest.

I hate to bring a book down so I'll be brief in what I have to say here. The fact is that this book is in desperate need of editing. I've had the pleasure of speaking with the author and have found out that a re-release addressing the editing issues is in the works. I hope to revisit my review of this book at that time and have better things to say about it.

On an up note, Toni...more
