Eh, I almost marked this as erotica, but it isn't really, even though there's no romance here. There is one tacked on at the end, but the story doesn't showcase it at all. This is basically a short novella or long short story about rush week for the gay pledges, where the frat boys take the pledges back to their rooms at night, with a paddling here and there. John Simpson's dialogue is something that bothered me all through the "Condor" series but there, it was somewhat in character so that, coupled with the overall good quality of the story, kept me reading.

In a story about college kids, though, the stilted formality of the characters speech is grating and I couldn't read past the half-way point.

This was really lackluster and a complete chore to read ... the dialogue was robotic and sophomoric ... kink was stripped of any eroticism by the delivery and the smex was ho-hum ... I'd rather read the side of a box of cereal.
Amy
