La început!? Fix 180 de pagini fără să o pot lăsa jos din mână.
Genială! Cu siguranță cartea mea preferată, ziceam, cea mai bună citită în ultima vreme and so on.
Personaje, poveste... incredibile!

Recommends it for: friends, girls (this is a chick-flick, i guess. haha.)
The story is about Vivi and Lane planning about making their friend Izzy get over her ex-boyfriend who happens to take her for granted. Vivi and Lane starts their plan through creating a MySpace account of a guy who would flirt with Izzy and make her fall in love.
The same as many stories go, there were a lot of exciting twists that happened from the start till the end.

The story line is exciting and catchy. I admit that the story really kept me hooked even though I'm a little annoyed with some of...more

I was really attracted to the premise of this book, two friends make online fake romantic interest for third friend to get her away from her sleazy ex-boyfriend. It could have played out in a number of ways and I wanted to find out how it would.

For the most part this was a fun book! I really liked the character of Lane, who was in love with her best guy friend but couldn't tell him! I also liked the conflict that Vivi goes through in the book. I didn't really care for the character of Isabelle...more

To be absolutely blunt, I really found this book cheesy. Its about this group of girl, this one girl unhealthily attached to her abusive/douchebag of a boyfriend. Her other 2 friends really want to help her friend get over him, and instead of having a heart-to-heart between them and probably the counselor like most friends would, they think it would be smart to create a "online boyfriend" to take her to Prom. It is very, very obvious that these girls have never had an Internet safety speech, oth...more

Vivi and Lane had their friend's best interest at heart but I would have slapped them in the face if I was in Izzy's place. It had all worked out in the end, everyone was happy --- and in a relationship. I laughed at the jokes and swooned a little over Jonathan. Overall, it was an enjoyable book.

The reason I gave this book three stars is because it was entertaining, not
really one of my favorites, but wasn't that bad. The story line was okay, and the
characters well prtrayed, but the dialogue was kind of cheesy. There were, however,
funny moments you wouldn't expect. The ending was totally obvious, but I liked how
it turned out. It's one of those books that I could lay in bed with all day
and read when I'm bored for a little laugh and entertainment. I wouldn't mind
reading it again, but l...more

This was my first time reading Kate Brian and while I sort of liked the book, there are a few key facts that are keeping me from giving it a higher rating.

I'll start with the positives. I really liked the character of Lane, as she was sweet, real and relatable. She also grew in confidence throughout the story, which was nice to see. I also found myself really liking Marshall, as he was the most considerate of all the characters. Also, there's a big surprise toward the end of the book that I won'...more

The fun, quirky colours on the cover suggest it all. Fake Boyfriend is an entertaining, comical read that I happened to devour in one sitting. It will make you cry out loud, giggle uncontrollably, yell out in frustration and cause your heart to ache.

If there was one thing I hated the most, it would be the character Vivi. She has an attitude that makes me want to pull my hair out. She rolls her eyes every second, bosses her friend Lane around, snaps at her brother Marshall every time she gets and...more

Fake Boyfriend is not an appealing title nor appealing to read it. However, although the cover does not look great it is indeed a novel to try and read it. After all it is one of many Kate Brian's spectacular novels. The book focused on three main characters and their development, Lane, Vivi, and Isabelle. The genre can be considered as romanc...more

Fake Boyfriend was one of those quirky, funny, fast reads.

What I loved about the book was the witty plot. I just loved the idea of creating a fake boyfriend just to help a friend in need. A funny and fast ride that will definitely leave the readers laughing and ready for more of Kate Brian’s stuff.

I loved Vivi and Lane because they were willing to do something totally outrageous so their best friend wouldn’t feel so depressed from her ex-boyfriend’s cheating. Vivi was really outgoing and it was...more

I don't knw if my expectations were too high, or if I'm too removed from the high school scene to enjoy this novel. I found it extremely cliche and predictable. For me, it's only saving grace was the witty dialogue, but even that, bordered on scripted from every high school drama episode I've ever watched - past or present.

Izzy's dream since ninth grade is to go to prom with the perfect guy. She believes she's found him in her current on-again-off-again boyfriend, Shawn, until she catches him c...more

Lane and Vivi are Isabelle's best friend. They are so done with Isabelle's jerk of a boyfriend who dumps her before prom. So they make up a guy on the internet who is the perfect guy for Izzy. But Marcus, Vivi's brother the one behind the computer screen. Now they need a face for Brandon, who they turn to Jonathan for. The setting of this book was at Westmont High Highschool. The main characters were Vivi, Izzy, Lane, Jonathan/Brandon, and Curtis.

The premise of the book is a girl trying to save her best friend from forgiving the boyfriend that keeps ruining her best friend's life. The girl enlists the aid of their other best friend and the mess just keep getting grander and grander. And "forgive" isn't exactly the right word. They don't care if she forgives him; they just don't want her to take him back to allow him to hurt her again. Because they know he will. Because he always does and has for the past four years.

So the two friends inv...more

I love the entire story plot!

It was very teen-ish but in a very humorous kind of way! The cover and the title drew me in to read this book and it was totally worth it. I was giggling like a hyena throughout the book and it was really making me giddy and feeling a bit 'out-of-order'. I love they style of writing, nothing too serious, yet nothing too kiddish either, a perfect book to hit the beach with or curled with for a good light reading.

"Fake Boyfriend" was an incredible book. The story was about 3 best friends who were getting ready to go to the prom with their dates but then their dates either brake up with them or cheat on them which was the case for Isabelle. She was very smart, pretty, popular, and an intelligent person. Isabelle's friends were so sick of her boyfriend cheating on her,so they made a fake my space account of the guy of her dreams. Isabelle started to talk to the fake guy "Brandon" and started to really like...more

My opinion:
I don’t know why I wanted to read the book. Probably it was because the description attracted me or.. I don’t know. The point is that I haven’t regretted for a second that I have read it! I had an amazing pleasure to remember that I was in some kind of this mess, a mess created by some close friends, so everything was even funnier!

This book was too good. I loved every single part of it. This novel is about three besties named Izzy, Lane, and Vivi. When Izzy's no-good boyfriend cheats on her it's up to Lane and Vivi to find her a guy - and one in time for prom! It's a race against time as the two find one. So what do they do? They set up a fake account on a social website and pretend to be a boy, and Izzy instantly falls in love. Everything falls into place, until Izzy asks to meet the mysterious guy. Luckily, Vivi's littl...more

Lane, Vivi, Isabelle, and Curtis have been best friends forever. Despite being best friends, they are all very different:
Lane is shy and passive. And she is so in love with Curtis, but just doesn’t have the heart to tell him.
Curtis is a fun-loving guy, who really isn’t all that much into guy-stuff, but does provide the group of friends with a much needed guy perspective.
Vivi has a very bubbly, but dominating personality. She knows exactly what she wants and sometimes has a hard time stopping her...more
