Sapphire Ice had me captivated from the very beginning of the prologue. I expected to enjoy this book, but was surprised at just how much the story drew me in. Hallee brings her characters to life in real-world situations and settings that leave you imagining you'll run into them somewhere someday. This is a very touching love story that shows the true romance between the characters without graphic sexuality that has become common in other romance novels. There are very few major conflicts in Sapphire Ice. Most of the conflicts were intrapersonal. This book was a nice break from all the action-packed books I’ve been reading lately. It isn’t a cozy romance, but there isn’t much suspense or tension in the story. I didn’t mind that at all, especially when the storyline was enough to keep me intrigue.

Sapphire Ice is book 1 of the Jewel Trilogy by author Hallee Bridgeman. The author offered me a chance to review the whole trilogy and host a giveaway as well. After reading the blurbs I was excited to get a chance to review these Christian Fiction books on my blog.

Ms. Bridgeman’s Jewel Trilogy hooks you right from the start. “Sapphire Ice”, book one, introduces the reader to three sisters, now grown, but coming from a very rough childhood. By the end of the prologue I couldn’t put it down and each chapter had me wanting more. The writing is superb and gives the reader a clear visual picture of characters and settings. This was a great Christian fiction book. I have to admit that the title made me assume that this would be just another typical romance, but fortunately I read the book description and realized that it's not. The title is actually perfect to describe Robin, the main character, and now I can see how perfectly the jewel theme works for this series. This is the story of a tender romance between two people scarred by horrific childhoods. Tony had a faith in God to repair the damage, but Robin only had faith in her own abilities to protect and provide for her sisters. The reader can’t help but pull for her as she fights exhaustion, financial worries and unsavory customers to ensure the happiness of her sisters in spite of the tremendous cost to herself. Robin, Maxine, and Sarah are introduced in Sapphire Ice as three young women working hard to overcome a background of fear, deprivation, and neglect, raised by a drug addicted mother. Robin's sense of responsibility pushes her to work two jobs, both in the food industry, to put her sisters through college. I loved this book! It was my favorite kind of romance-one where you don't have to wait to the end for the couple to fall in love. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and liked each one's personality. The heroine's sister, Maxine, made me laugh. I was hooked from the Prologue and picked it up every spare minute I had. Even with an infant and a toddler, I finished it in 2 days because I just couldn't put it down! The characters are so real and well thought out, the story draws you in and has unexpected twists and developments throughout. More than just a good love story, it's a great book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
This book grabbed my attention from the beginning and I loved reading it. There are strong characters dealing with real life situations. I love that it has strong Christian morals while not being judgmental or too 'preachy"! A great read.
Quick-moving story. Even though I figured out how the story would end, the plot kept my interest well enough that I finished it in a few hours.
I loved Sapphire Ice! This was the first book I have read in a long time and really enjoyed it. I was hooked and had to read the next two in the series.
A must read! Draws you into the colorful characters lives! Can't wait to see what is next!

I don't read romance. I found myself reading this book as a friend of the author. I was impressed with the depth of the characters and story. It is a sweet love story. The characters have rich history. If you are a romance reader this one is for you.
