Queen Elizabeth II has never had it so good, relatively speaking. She may well have reigned over some troubled times but she has had nothing to contend with such as many of her forebears had.

One day I was sitting in Regency Park and I suddenly decided to memorize the chronological order of the English royal heads of state, starting with the Normans. A wonderful little reference book. We use it all the time with movies or history channel programs that crop up. Wish there was something similar for France, Germany, US....

It's a short book with one photo and a one page, thumbnail sketch of each. Pretty concise and it gives a nice snapshot of each ruler.
