Giving a new twist to an old story. In his first book, the author, Charlie Mac finds a way to bring home Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. After allowing people to think they had died in a ferocious gun battle with lawmen in Bolivia, with the assistance of Ms. Etta Place, they return to the U.S. to establish legal business ventures, start families, and live quietly as law abiding citizens. It's not until the secret journal of a very wealthy and powerful man surfaces, someone Butch and Sundance ...more

This is a well crafted, smoothly told tale of what might have happened if Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were not killed in the mountains of Bolivia in 1908. Three years later, they have created new lives for themselves. Butch has settled in Oregon with his wife and sons. Sundance has settled in New York City with Etta Place. Both men are successful in legitimate businesses, but the past has a way of rearing it's ugly head. Long buried secrets are unintentionally unearthed, resulting in the ...more

Thoroughly enjoyed this book

The title, Legends Lost, first drew me to the book. The book quickly transported me to another time, the Old West, with outlaws and train robberies in America. Legends Lost recalls Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with a twist. Rather than dying, Cassidy, Sundance and their families changed their names, earn respectable livings, and live quietly until the past haunts them by one man: Elias Kotkin. Kotkin, the illegitimate son of a wealthy businessman, has been sent

Charlie Mac's book "Legends Lost" is an interesting mystery book, set in historic times, and about Wild West. Author made a very interesting plot about what might have happened if Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, the two vivid and unique characters in American History, were not killed in the mountains of Bolivia in 1908. With such book premise and the plot, a reader expects a lot of interesting events with lots of twists and turns. Although the book did not create an Old West magic as I expected ...more

A really good read. It flowed from cover to cover and kept you thinking about what could happen and what was going to happen. It was involving and went from one side of the country to the other as the good guys and the bad guys battled each other for a piece of the past. It was hard to put down and I looked forward to the next time I could read even a little bit of it.

This book flows right off the page. The struggle with the journal brings together old friends and new questions. Very well written and believable. This book will definitely get rid of any 'boring' in your day. Props for fast/early book delivery.

I couldn't get into this book. It just moved too slowly for me. I'm not sure that I could recommend it to anyone.
