Who doesn't want good tasting, healthy food? That is what this book is all about. Now, I will be honest here, I'm not a huge all-organic, gluten free, healthy only type of cook. I do, however, try to cook healthier versions of whatever I cook when I can. My passion is Sicilian cooking, which does fall into healthier eating with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood. One of the main claims about this book, as contained in its publicity blurb, caught the eye of this reviewer that sort of set the tone for the whole book. "Integrating good foods into your lives".

This is primarily a discussion of different foods and seasonings. It is meant to encourage even kids to not to turn up their noses at various foods. There are even recipes including alternative ingredients.

I really like this book! First thing he talks about is how we don't conform to some mythical person (ie.: Govt issued food pyramid)--we each need different foods to thrive because of genetic heritages & various other factors. One of his main points is that there is no one right way to eat, but use of common sense is perfect for all of us. We need to ditch the chemically enhanced sugar laden garbage foods for whole foods--especially vegetables. Definitely a keeper!

A good Cookbook - seeing some ingredients say "free range / organic / grass fed" etc etc on many ingredients in one recipe is a bit disconcerting and many of the ingredients listed (daikon, kale, nori, parsnips, etc) are not available to me. I did like the Entree part of the book the best though and the info at the beginning was very informative.
