We love to cheer for the underdog and believe to our core that every life makes a difference. And we are right. There is no one God can’t use and no one whose brokenness is too broken for God. We know this is true for our friends when we want to encourage them. Yet, when it comes to the places of our innermost sense of shame and regret, we often wonder if it is really true...more

"If you would have told me fifteen years ago I would be working on a book about my Christian walk, I would have laughed. And so the story goes, right? God has a way of redefining our expectations.

It has been a labor of love to walk back through some writing published over the past four and a half years on my blog, Bring the Rain. The blog began as a way to keep family and friends informed as we walked through the pregnancy of our fourth daughter, Audrey Caroline, who we only got to have with us...more

I love Angie Smith... her writing just touches my heart. I honestly think we'd be best friends.. maybe its the red hair?

I just came out of What Women Fear & loved it so much & then had the chance to read this one. I didnt want it to end.

This book are part blog posts, part devotions, part study, part 'God is talking to you'...
I honestly laughed, cried, had my brain work & had my heart spoken to on many different entries.
I even had to go back & star, & heart some of my favorite...more

MY REVIEW:

Mended: pieces of a life made whole is a devotional complied from Angie Smith's past blog posts. Each one has been updated to include a focus verse and application questions for personal growth. Staying true to her form, Angie shares openly and with raw vulnerability. It is an easy reading book that could be used as either a devotional or a "night stand book" for encouragement every so often.

I personally appreciate Angie's testimony and the openness with which she shares it to those wh...more

Like a good friend or good conversation, a good book draws you closer to the Lord. It teaches you without making you feel interior. It lets you discover but also leaves enough uncovered for you to investigate on your own.

That's what reading Mended was like for me. Angie Smith has a way with words. I wish I could spend time with her because I have so much to learn--as a woman of God and a writer (and someday a wife and mother too). My relationship with God was strengthened as I truly sought and s...more

This book is written for women. Its a rework of her blog after losing a child. I read it to Rainey and we both laughed at her sense of humor and felt her pain. The chapters are short and make a point. There's lots of encouragement and inspiration.

Smith uses the daily experiences of life, coupled with a background of profound loss, to celebrate the presence of God. She has a wonderful voice. This was better than I expected.

I loved this book. I wish it could have gone on longer. I normally find myself worked up over sticking with a regiment on devotional type books but didn't so that with this. There were days I read one chapter and soaked it in and allowed God to speak and other days needed two chapters to hit home. I like the way Angie Smith writes and the fact that it feels comfortable. I definitely recommend this book...whether you are feeling broken or whole God can always work in you.

Loved this book, I first heard Angie Smith talk at a dot mom conference and was in tears after hearing about her story, i was so excited to read her book and do an online study, I love her sense if humor, her honesty and again the book helps us to see our brokenness and need for Jesus to mend us thru our lives...very insightful for me :)

One of the best books I've read in a long time. Perfect for the broken woman in a fallen world, learning to deepen her walk with the Lord. This book will give you the faith and comfort that He has truly mended you.
