I fell in love with this story of Highlands Romance and Intrigue!
I was drawn immediately into the story and 16th century Scotland. Heather McCollum's writing style just flows beautifully and made it enjoyable from start to finish.
It begins with Meg fleeing from the father she does not know that was responsible for her mother's death. He is coming after her to determine if she is a "witch" like her mother and marry her off to some Englishman. Meg is strong and determined to ride alone with her h More...

Finding new authors to share with you all is one of the joys of Tea and Book. As you know, Tea and Book was set up for just this reason, to share exciting reads from new authors. I know there are always authors to be discovered but it is such a high when we find on that is jut amazing. I was thrilled when Netgalley sent me Captured Heart. I was prepared to like it on the premise alone.. Sexy Highlanders, Magic, A Damsel in Distress, A mysterious secret and oh yeah did I mention Sexy Highlanders? More...

Every now & again I stumble across a story that is simply a joy to read. Captured Hearts was one of those rare stories.
Meg is fleeing to Scotland to escape charges of witchcraft. She is running from the same man who had her mother put to the fire for witchcraft. Sadly that man is Meg's own father. Hmm.... well, maybe.
She crosses paths with Caden who has come to England on a secret mission. Driven by duty to his clan Caden has sworn to end the feud that threatens to annihalate his people. H More...

So, so good!
I loved this book!
Captured Heart is a delightful historical romance with a hint of paranormal, a mix that works out beautifully.
The story is interesting. Meg runs away to Scotland to escape her father, a man who had her mother tried and burned for witchcraft and could be planning the same for her. On the way, she meets Caden and a lovely partnership arises. But, of course, there are secrets involved, polit More...

Meg Boswell knows that just like her mother, there is something different about her. Cursed with healing abilities she is on the run from her father Boswell in hopes to escape accusations of being a witch and dreading the same terrible death as her mother, burned in the witches fyre. With her she carried her mothers journal with clues that might hand her the salvation she is seeking away from Boswell.

A sweet Scottish Romance with just a hint of paranormal.
This is the story of Caden MacBain, chief of clan MacBain, and Meg Boswell, niece to the MacBain's fiercest enemy, the Munro's. It's just barely a Historical-Paranormal, although really the paranormal aspect was very small and limited to only one main character. I found it to be a really sweet and sexy story and I will definitely be reading more from this new (to me) author.
It was also quite a quick read; I probably could have happily read More...

Ahhhh another lovely Highlander steals my heart with his sexiness.
Meg is running away from what will most assuredly be her death at the hands of her father. You see she has a gift that in most people's eyes would lead her to death by burning as a witch. She's a sweet person and very very strong to have withstood the horrible death of her mother at this man's hands. She can hunt with the best of them and protect herself from most attacks but when she meets our hero all bets are off. She needs to More...

I love a good Scottish Highlander story and this one didn’t disappoint. Meg Boswell is on the run because her father is on his way home to have her “examined” to see if she’s a witch. Meg’s a healer with some added magical abilities and she doesn’t want to meet the same fate as her mother. She’s headed for Scotland to find and stay with her aunt, her mother’s sister, but as she nears the border, Meg comes upon a skirmish between some Highlanders and English soldiers. She unwittingly saves the Ma More...

First Thought when finished: Captured Heart was a fantastic historical romance that made me swoon several times. I think all historicals should make you do that at least once :)
Quick Thoughts: Captured Heart is probably my 2nd favorite historical read this year. It contained all the elements I love: strong man, stronger woman, great setting, evil villain, swoon-worthy moments, strong family, and a touch of mag More...

I am so glad I took a shot on this book. It was such a heartwarming highlander tale. I have to admit I’ve missed my highlanders they are so sexy, loyal and caveman like! On top of that it’s an abduction Highlander tale, I always enjoy a good abduction! LOL. And even more?! Our heroine is a healer! How can you not love healers, their sole reason for being is to help people? They are always so loveable, gentle and always win me over. So I got a tri-fecta with this book.

Meg Boswell is riding her horse towards the Scottish border with only her bow and arrows and her pet wolf Nickum as protection. She's running from her father whom she hasn't seen in years, not since he accused her mother of witchcraft and had her burned at the stake.
Meg knows she is different, and she also knows that the only reason her father is now writing to her is so she too can be tested for witchcraft. Her mother's sister is married to the Laird of Clan Munro in Scotland so that's where M More...

This title’s premise intrigued me…
strong, sexy Scottish clan chieftain meets strong, smart English girl with magical healing powers in the 16th century. I decided to read it based on the glowing reviews that have been posted.
I found the writing style enjoyable. The plot is well-crafted and fast-paced, and the ending is satisfying. The characters are well-drawn and dimensional (even the villians), and relationship between Meg and Caden develops in a natural way.

Set in 16th century Scotland Heather McCollum's writing is able to vividly transport us with imagery and characters that draw you in and make you feel like your in the Highlands with them.
Anyone who is a healer in this time period had reason to fear that they could be accused of witchcraft and tortured and burned, Meg has even more reason than most because not only had her mother been accused and burned as a witch but she has a little extra gift that makes her fear for her life.

Captured Heart by Heather McCollum is a wonderful addition to the many Highlander books that I love. In this particular sub genre you can either go for gold or be really cheesy. This book is definitely gold.
Running for her life Meg Boswell has to get to her aunt in the Northern Highlands. Her mother was burnt as a witch and Meg has every reason to believe that she is about to suffer the same fate. Looking for a Historical Romance novel with a hint of the Paranormal in it? This book is for you!
I do love me a hot Scottish Highlander, and this book definitely has a hot Scottish Highlander. Actually, it has several rather hot Scottish Highlanders, but that’s not all that it’s got. This first book in McCollum’s newest series is filled with mystery, romance, magic, humor, adventure, and more. And did I mention sexy kilted Highlanders? =^.^=

This was a sweet romance with a dose of paranormal. It was difficult not to draw conclusion with certain aspects of Outlander as it has an English woman in Scotland who has to marry a Scot in order to escape the English and she is a healer and is worried about being accused of witchcraft. But there is no time-travel and there is magic, so the similarity stopped there.
It was nice and sweet. More...

I don't usually read historical romances (with a hint of paranormal), but I loved this book. I was thoroughly invested in the characters and felt like I was in 16th century Scotland. McCollum is an author to keep an eye on. Now, if only there was a way to make Caden real..... :)

Medieval romance, with a little bit of magic and a lot of love, plus misunderstanding that has to be forgiven. Not the best I've ever read, but still it was a turn pages.

Really enjoyable -- it's been a long time since I've read a Scottish kidnapping romance, but this book reminded me why I love that trope so much.
