Why Do We Sell Low and Buy High?: The guide you must read Before you invest
by
Amir Avitzur (Goodreads Author)
We all know that in order to be a successful investor, we should buy low and sell high. In other words, we should pay a low price for our investment and sell it for a higher price. So why do many of us do exactly the opposite? Why do we buy high and sell low?

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway, and thought it might be a helpful look at investing. There were a few new pieces of information for me (so it was ok), but overall, I found the book hard to get into. Maybe I'm not serious enough about investing. I found the book was lacking in concrete case studies and examples. The author's tone was conversational and friendly, but at times it felt somewhat too much so.

This short book has a lot of sound advice. Amir Avizur, the author, urges learning as much as possible about a company, predominately from the company's corporate annual report, efore investing. Most investors take advice from friends or trends. Avizur advocates not relying on others for due diligence. Most people know the market in their own business, profession, or interests better than other markets. At the end, the author lists books for further reading. The examples and explanations are well...more

The reason I entered this giveaway is that I had barely any knowledge of the stock market and I wanted more information. This little book was a great source. What I really enjoyed the most was the way that Amir Avitzur was able to put everything into simple language for everyone to understand. A lot of writers aren't able to address such a wide audience. Ordinarily I would not be able to read this kind of book because the writing would be too stiff and forma...more

A good guide for the beginner to the stock market. Lots of good points, and short enough that a new investor won't give up on it. Some recycled advice, but good advice. I will be passing this book along to my friends who aren't Business majors.
Extra points for the awesome book recommendations! "One Up on Wall Street..." by Peter Lynch was suggested and that is my favorite.
