Celestia Montehue is the odd-eyed misfit in a family of flame-haired goddesses descended from notorious Queen Boadicea. While her sisters are tall and beautiful, she, the eldest, is blond and petite, with one green eye and one blue eye. Love's Magic is a magical tale of love and all the joys and sorrows that come along with it. Celestia is a spunky character who believes that she will never find love. Nicholas is a man on a mission who will not let anything get in his way. And when the two characters meet... there are sparks. Not just the romantic kind, but the "I possibly hate you and want nothing to do with you" kind.

Although the plot was very promising, I felt like the novel needed a bit more editing. The overall plot is the...more
Celestia Montehue is considered a witch because she has two different colored eyes. Nicholas Le Blanc is a haunted man who arrives on Celestia's doorstep drunk.

There has been an order for Celestia to marry Nicholas, despite the fact that they do not love one another and may in fact actually hate each other. Celestia needs love in her marriage because she is a healer who has a cursed family. If there is unrequited love in her life, she will lose her ability to heal. Nicholas' family is also curse...more
I really hate to do this but this has to be the worst written book I've ever read. I'm sorry, but Ms. Hall needs to go back to school. It was like watching an extremly poorly edited movie with bad cuts and missing scenes. The sentences were choppy and the plot development senseless. The characters shifted moods, made assumptions and reached conclusions at the speed of light and with no apparant rational reason. It was downright inchoherent. It's a shame, too, because the medieval setting was pro...more
Celestia has a gift - she's a healer. If a healer marries without love, the gift will dissapear. Because of that, Celestia now has a problem. She is being force to marry Nicholas Le Blanc - a man she has never seen before in her life.
Now she must make him love her, or she will loose her gift.

I got this book for free on Kindle, so I thought I might as well give it a shot. It wasn't awful, but it certainly wasn't good. I won't recommend it.
Two-haiku review:

It went on too long

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, enjoying Traci's characterizations and the story revolving around a young woman who has healing skills, but because of her differently colored eyes is considered a witch by some in the Medieval setting of the book.
The relationship between her and her husband is nicely done, moving along at a gentle pace and there was much enjoyment to be had when they consistently bumped heads with one another. The secondary characters are also well written and I am looking forwar...more
I read this one some time ago, but I remember enjoying it very much. Definitely worth a read.

i can't believe i actually got thru this book.
AUTHOR: TRACI HALL writes Medieval Paranormal Romances, Young Adult Paranormal, Coming of Age YA and Non-Fiction. This is my “first” time having read a book by this author. "Love's Magic" is not YA nor erotica and I don't read either. Her writing style shows an ability to leave the reader with a continuous, “what will happen next”. Most romance readers, I feel, do not want to jump right into the romancing. This author knows how to create the building blocks of romance with continuous hints. You...more
Love's Magic had decent ratings overall, so I was disappointed. The characters could have evolved so much more than they did. I found the central conflict annoyingly and repetitively repeated in almost every chapter. I felt the characters did not evolve from the primary focus on their arranged marriage. Yes, things happened, events occurred, but overall the one underlying question, stated over and over, was various versions of "Will he/she love me?" While this may be an obvious conflict within a...more

While her sisters are tall and beautiful, Celestia Montehue is the misfit in a royal family—petite, with one green and one blue eye. The only thing she has in common with her ancestors is her magical healing ability. Fearing no one will ever accept her, she vows never to marry. Meanwhile, Nicholas Le Blanc, a haunted man, was trained as a knight but his childhood has convinced him he is a bastard. He is captured while on crusade and eventually forced to kill for his freedom. An arranged marriage...more
I thought this was an awfully cute book. I really enjoyed Celestia and her family dynamic and of course Nicholas. I enjoyed trying to figure out what was going to happen next and then trying to figure out why. The story held my attention well and kept some suspense for me.

There were parts through out the book ... mainly her visions/chills ... I thought could have been elaborated on or left out. I found myself keeping them in mind thinking they may have something to do with the story line and th...more
Picked it up as free ebook off Amazon. This story has to do with a healer in the age of Knights and the crusades. She has agreed to an arranged marriage, but if she cannot make her husband truly fall in love with her she will loose her precious gift of healing.

This story was a good one,... but I felt liked I plodded through it. There was a GREAT DEAL of repetition, re-explaining the story line over and over and over and over.... I wanted to shout that I CAN go back and re read it if I am lost. T...more
This is a very familiar story. I am not sire whether I have just read to many stories just like it or if there is a movie along these lines but this has been done. That is not to say that it isn't a cute story. Plus it has a happy ending and goodness knows I can use more of those.
Lady Celestia is a healer, gifted by God with the magic necessary to save lives. When her father's liege lord orders her to marry his son, Nicholas, Celestia will need every bit of her magic to heal Nicholas's wounded and tormented soul, and to keep evil from invading their new life.

This is another of the books where I started it and then set it down for a month or so before finally picking it up again. It does take a little while to get started, and it's a bit weird in that it doesn't necessari...more
I was so anamoured with the dynamics of Celestia and Nicholas. They are opposites in that she is full of light and he has a pit of darkness. They were a couple that I constantly rooted for to be together in the end. Of course, Nicholas just has to be one of those, I am too much of a tortured soul to have anyone love me and my darkness will only make them worse. you constantly beg for him to see him as a decent human being that he is and can be. This book was a real page turner or in my Kindle ca...more
I vacillated between three and four stars for this one, finally settling on three. I loved the characters, particularly Celestia and Nicholas, and I enjoyed the storyline. It just took such a long time to get started. In all honesty, the editor must have been sleeping on the job, since a hundred pages could easily have been cut out without the book losing anything. Still, I see that Hall has published what appears to be a sequel, and I'll definitely read it, as well as checking out other novels...more
I really loved this. The characters were intriguing, the plot was unique, and the ending was perfection. My one problem is the fantastically stubborn determination the two lovebirds had to push each other away. It grew a little frustrating after a time. But otherwise, Love's Magic is a cute, sweet, feel-good romance with just enough action to keep you on your toes.
Try as I might, I only made it to 20%. The writing was fair, but the plot and characterization were atrocious. Another problem I had was that I couldn't decide if I was reading a watered down historical romance meant for teens or a Christian historical romance, which for those who know me, I tend to stay far away from.
Probably 3.5 stars. It was cute, but I agree with some of the other reviews that the story drug along and felt like it could have used a little trimming. The main characters are very likable and they really make the whole book great to read. Another fun find on the Kindle Free List.
I wanted to like this book. I thought the plot was a little confusing and even at the end I didn't quite understand everything that had happened. There was too much backstory involved. Also the sexual tension built up to one graphic scene at the end and it was all too much for me.

Pretty good storyline, but I have to agree with another reviewer that said it had too much padding. This could have been a very good book. There was just something lacking in the telling of the story.
Loved this book! I could not put it down. I wanted to see what was going to happen next. I will definitely see if there are more in this series. Would recommend it!

A fairly good story with characters I grew to like. However, the best rating I can give is 3 stars because the writing and editing was lacking throughout the book.
Can't pinpoint what it is with this book that I did or didn't like! How sad is that? It was an average book. Good enough for a one time read.
The plot moved too slowly for me. The hero was small, gangly and sick one day and coming to her rescue the next. Ended up not finishing it.
Quick read. It had humorous moments and some adventure. It seemed more like a whodunit, where you get a sense of who the culprits may be.
Enjoyed this book. I haven't read a historical romance for a while. Must admit I prefer her Rhiannon Godfrey series more :)
So far, I really really like this. It's cute, it has history, it has love, and it has excitement. :)
I was surprised how much this pulled me in considering I read it because it was free on kindle.

My name is Traci Hall and I love to write. Now that my kids are in college (yikes!) I figured I'd have more time to put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, but that's not the case at all. I still find myself fighting for writing time. I am a barista at Starbucks - an excellent company to work for if you need a flexible schedule - and I market, promote and edit, which takes more time than writing...more
