The final installment of the series is my favorite, tied along with Rafael & Bryony's story. I LOVED both the heroine & hero. When I first read Pippa in Tempted by her Innocent Kiss, I was excited to get her full story. While I absolutely loved Pippa to death, I was not a fan of her hero. At all.

Pippa is trying to get her business off the ground with the meager savings she has and the desire to success. After she spends on very steamy night with Cam, she figured life would go back to normal. That is until Cam calls to tell her that one of the condoms broke. Now Pippa is working to get her business running, and dealing with an unplanned pregnancy from a man who wanted nothing come morning.

Cam isn’t ready to love again. The one time he did before, it hurt too much when he lost everything. Now that Pippa is pregnant with his child, all those memories are being brought up and he is forced to face his past. As the baby’s due date grows closer, Cam becomes more and more unstable. If he can’t find a way to move on from his past, he might lose both Pippa and the baby forever.

I was anxious to see more of Pippa, and she really was the saving grace for me in this book. I loved that she was so full of life and optimistic despite being in circumstances that were not within her plan. I loved that she took life as it came and ran with it, making the best of it with what she had. I love people like that, and Pippa was one that I definitely enjoyed. I was hoping for Pippa to have a wonderful hero. One that challenged her and helped her realize her dreams. While Cam did help with her dreams, he definitely didn’t challenge her in any good way.

Cam was one of those heroes that I knew would be tortured. I knew he would be hung up on something from his past, and because of that unable to commit; especially when he took time out of some pretty heavy foreplay to make sure Pippa understood their night was a one-time thing only. I wasn’t, however, prepared for Cam to be a total jerk. He constantly belittled Pippa’s feelings and threw little hissy fits whenever he was placed in a situations where he couldn’t deal. He acted more like a four year old toddler than a grown man, and toward the end he was annoying me more than anything.

I wanted to love the relationship between Cam and Pippa, especially when I still held hope that Pippa could help Cam really grow from his past. Instead, I found that as the story continued, I kept getting more and more frustrated with Cam and wondered why Pippa stuck around. I get that it was for their child, but after awhile I wondered why Pippa would continue to be treated like crap, regardless of Cam being the father.

Toward the end, I felt as if Cam screwed up big time. His words and actions towards Pippa were so hurtful, and yet when it came time for the big apology, I didn’t think it was all that grand. I wanted more. Needed more from him. I felt as if Pippa gave in much too quickly given the way he treated her. I could have used some begging and groveling.

All in all I wasn’t thrilled about the final book in the Pregnancy & Passion series. I expected a bit more from my hero and was a little disappointed that he didn’t live up to my expectations. Thankfully Pippa was a shining star, carrying me through and leading me to the end twinkling the whole way.

Once a few other characters were mentioned I began to get the feeling that maybe I missed something but it didn't affect my understanding of the story. It actually just made me want to go back and read the others in the series! So while it won't hurt you to read this book as a stand alone, it would probably be beneficial to start the series from the beginning.

So for that reason, he keeps women out of his apartment and makes sure they understand that sex for him is only a one night stand. When he shows up at his best friend's housewarming party, he sees Pippa working her butt off to cater the event. He throws aside her annoyance and offers up his services for the night. And not just with helping to distribute food. They go back to his place and both understand it's going to be a one night stand only. Pippa is happy and luxuriating in her great sex from the previous night when she receives a phone call from Cam telling her that the condom broke. Uh oh. Now they both know they have to deal with eachother and while Pippa is okay with that, Cam has to fight back his demons to decide if he wants to wallow in his past or move on and have a great future.

I was back and forth with my feelings about both Cam and Pippa. While I liked them together at times I began to get a little annoyed with the pushing and pulling between them. It wasn't just Cam either. Even though Pippa repeatedly stated her feelings for Cam, she also remained undecided whether she wanted his help or didn't. I also wasn't a big fan of how she treated Cam regarding his past. Yes he was wallowing to a certain extent, and yes he was being kind of an idiot towards her but after hearing for the first time why he was so upset Pippa reacted in a mean way. She basically yelled at him and told him to man up. I wasn't so comfortable with that reaction. She then went on to explain to her friends that she understands why he's so upset but that it's hurting her feelings. Seriously?

I'm glad things ended the way they did, but for such a short book a lot of things happened to these characters! Banks sure knows how to torture them! I'm still deciding if I will go back and read the other books, I'm not sure if I want to get involved with the tug of war that will surely happen!

I also liked Pippa quite a bit from Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss, so I had high expectations for them as a couple. They are definitely hot together during the love scenes. But Cam's back and forth really bothered me and I felt like Pippa lost a lot of her spine between book 3 and book 4. She does get in one good rant toward the end, but it was too little too late for me. Like the rest of the heroes in this series, Cam does not provide much of a grovel. I do think there was one, but considering his behavior it was not nearly enough.

Edited to add: This book kept me awake last night, trying to work out why I had an underlying feeling of intense dislike despite it not being a badly written book. It took some tossing and turning but it did finally come to me. And it's problematic enough that I'm dropping a star from my review.

There are actually two problems. The first is sloppy writing regarding one issue. The second is a falsehood Ms. Banks has written into the story that is not just problematic for the story, it is potentially harmful for readers who may be influenced by it. And both of these problems relate to the same thing: the morning after pill.

Now, I don't believe for a minute that Ms. Banks is waging a battle in the very much existent War on Women in America. I think she's innocently and inadvertently picked up some misinformation regarding the morning after pill. The correct information is: the morning after pill is NOT an abortifactant, no matter how much some religious leaders may want to claim it is. Pippa seems to dismiss the idea of taking the morning after pill at least partly because she erroneously believes it to be an abortifactant. It is not, and that was not a good reason for her not to run as fast as she could to the pharmacy and get the morning after pill if she did not wish to become pregnant.

Further, there is the problem with Cam waiting approximately 24 hours to tell Pippa the condom broke. Since he is so dead set against having children, this makes no sense. I would think he'd have driven her to the pharmacy himself within an hour or two of realizing the condom broke considering his thoughts and behavior regarding having children. Cam even considers the pill and then just ... does nothing until the next day. No explanation is given for this.

Of course, if they'd come to their senses and calmly taken appropriate action there would not be an Oops Baby and therefore there would not be a plot. I really do not like plots built on falsehoods. I especially don't like them when they may lead some impressionable young person to believe a perfectly valid and moral solution to a problem might be wrong or immoral and potentiality have a negative or even catastrophic impact on their life.

And just to be clear, I am not pushing pro-choice here. The morning after pill is NOT an abortifactant.

So, this book is at best 2 stars for me and is a disappointing finish to an otherwise good series.(less)

Meanwhile Cam who wished with all his heart she won't fall pregnant is terrified, he has already lost a wife and son once(sadly I didn't feel we were given much information about this, how he met his wife, how did they die etc) and doesn't want to go through the pain again and is over-protective, wanting Pippa to move in with him and even suggesting marriage but she refuses and they manage to build a friendship.

However when they go for an ultrasound and find out they are having a son, Cam freaks which angers Pippa and she questions him and out comes his past. Now, I got Pippa's point of view of letting the past go but I had real problems with her seeming disregard for his pain, she didn't even ask him questions and instead just expected him to get over it.

I respected her in the way she wanted her son to have a different identity but I had a hard time being sympathetic to her when she raked Cam over coals. He had been there for her and she put him through the wringer and when she does confess her love for him and he doesn't respond in kind she walks out and doesn't give him the chance to apologize.

I do enjoy a good grovel but I do wish the Pippa too had apologized for her behaviour. All in all I loved seeing all four friends and their families together in the end but romance wise this story has to be the weakest for me though I would recommend giving this series a try.

I've been waiting for this book, out of all the guys introduced in the series, I felt more of a connection with Cam. Although it doesn't give much background information, Cam was married before and had a newborn son. Both Cam's wife and son died, leaving him alone and miserable until he meets Pip. Although Cam doesn't embrace his feelings for Pippa because he is scared to lose her and his baby whom she is pregnant with.

Cameron Hollingsworth is a handsome, capable of being sensitive but often is a surly man who is attracted to Pippa. Cam is best friends with Devon and Cam does not want a relationship that requires commitment. He is still carrying the weight of the tragic loss of his beloved wife. He is an honorable man but sometimes that isn't enough for a strong, independent woman like Pippa.

Pippa and Cam have been eyeballing each other since Ashley's and Devon's wedding,the chemistry is present and sometimes intimidating. Mistakes have been made between the two and it tears a hole in the hearts of the characters as well as the readers. Cameron's is dashing away from agonizing emotional pain. He is having difficulties expressing his pain to Pippa and that which he is desperately avoiding is staring him in the face.

Ms. Banks creates an environment of unconditional love in the message in Undone by Her Tender Touch and the importance of compassion, love and support we all need in our lives. She conveys this message as friends in Undone by Her Tender Touch rallying to embrace one in trouble of in pain.

So, I liked this book better than Devon's book. This one actually had touching moments. I'm a big Maya Banks fan, but not so much a fan of this series. All of the men are complete a-holes. I will say Cam has a more understandable reason for his undesirable behaviors toward the female character, Pippa. Good wrap up to the series.
Pippa is a strong willed woman who knew what she wants in both her career (catering), confident and who has a lot of character. Both her and Cam could not ignore the spark and chemistry between them. What's not to like about this little gem? There's an independent woman and a brooding hero who not only does everything to avoid falling in love but says and does some hurtful things that really kick up the angst for Pippa. But she holds her own because even while suffering through terrible hurt, she didn't allow herself to be railroaded by Cam. This was probably my second favorite in this quartet. I found that our hero and heroine, Pippa and Cameron, had some of the most honest interactions. Unplanned pregnancies can happen every day and they seemed to be very honest with their feelings and were not afraid to let the other know. This is the last in Banks' "pregnancy and passion" series about four friends and business partners who each accidentally knock someone up. (You have to wonder what brand of condoms they're using.) The last man standing is Cam, aka Mr. Reclusive. Cam has been eyeing Pippa (a friend of his friend's wife) for some time, and when he makes his move, he's brutally honest about the rules:

"I don't do commitment. I need you to understand that if we go to bed together, this is a one-night stand. (You have to wonder what brand of condoms they're using.) The last man standing is Cam, aka Mr. Reclusive. Cam has been eyeing Pippa (a friend of his friend's wife) for some time, and when he makes his move, he's brutally honest about the rules:

"I don't do commitment. I need you to understand that if we go to bed together, this is a one-night stand. I won't call you in a few days. I won't call you, period. I'll expect you to leave in the morning. I'll provide a car for your transport back into the city."

Honestly, I think I would have preferred it if Pippa told him to take a hike; hooray for being an independent and sexually assertive woman, but that's just cold. However, Pippa goes for it and they have a wild night.

But when Cam discovers a broken condom (and is somehow shocked. Hasn't he been paying attention to his friend's lives?) he dramatically changes his tune:

"'I don't want anything to happen to you. Move in with me. If you won't marry me so my child has my name, then at least move in with me so you're both provided for.'

She wondered if he even knew that he was nearly pleading with her. As vehement as he was that he could never give her what she wanted or needed from a relationship, he seemed just as determined to tie her to him."

As you might guess, there's a tragedy in Cam's past that's influencing him, making him determined to take the utmost care of Pippa and the baby while still keeping them at arms length.

I didn't like this quite as much as the others in the series. It's fairy-tale-ish in a way that doesn't entirely work for me: for example, Cam provides Pippa with everything she needs to start her own business, down to the decorated storefront. I find it hard to believe she wouldn't miss the fun of choosing things herself. I also thought that Pippa is rather callous about Cam's irrational but understandable feelings, attacking him instead of giving him time to work through them.

Still, Banks again does a great job of mixing the classic elements of category romance with more realistic characters and situations, so you have all the emotional punch without that little voice in your head that says "these people are idiots, nobody really acts this way!" I really enjoyed this series.(less)

This set of books about this group of guys probably has to be the biggest bunch of stubborn, irritating, moronic men I've ever seen. We love them cause they're sexy and romantic and have tons of good points but my goodness. Why is it that when men refuse to go away or quit and push and push and nag they're being romantic and worried about you. But if a woman did it she'd be needy, pathetic and a stalker? Pippa Langley falls for Cam Hollingsworth. Hard. Even though she knew from the get go it was a one-night-stand, no attachments, no continuations, she wanted him.

Cam does not do feelings. He has a very strict, sex - yes, commitment - no. He already lost his wife and newborn son to a tragedy, he was never going to feel again.

Nice book, but not too thrilled with it for the conclusion of the series. Liked Pippa and her take-no-crap-ness but she was too pushy sometimes. Cam, IDK, I felt he was kinda 'absent' during much of the book (much of the POV is Pippa's). I didn't really like him (I feel like I didn't get to know him well enough for that), though he came through in the end.
