Summary:

Three years ago Wes, spotted Lady Madeline across a ballroom and ever since he has been besotted. The few times he has been in the same room with Lady Madeline, he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off of her, too bad she hasn’t been able to look him in the eye. Weston Hadley has been in love with Lady Madeleine for as long as he can remember, but she is so far above his station, he never dreams they could be a match. Not only is he strapped for funds and from a less noble family, he is also a werewolf --a closely guarded secret. Unfortunately, Lady Madeleine stumbles into his path one night as he changes into his wolf form. Fearful she will spill the family secret, he kidnaps her and heads to Gretna Green.

It doesn't take long for Maddie to fall for her...more

Lady Madeline is very much a lady, a Duke’s daughter on the marriage mart. Her father has high aspirations for her, but to Madeline, none of her “suitable” suitors excite her. Mr. Weston Hadley interests her, but he is far from suitable. However, when Madeline stumbles across a scene she shouldn’t have, Wes feels there is no choice but to abscond with the lady and make her his wife to keep certain secrets safe.

I really enjoyed The Wolf Who Loved Me. Wes has always been attracted to Lady Madeline...more

I have read Lydia Dare’s first 4 Westfield Wolves and I liked them. They have this interesting premise we don’t see too often in paranormal romance. Usually we see these dominant, very wolf-like men whose wolf gets as much page time as the man. In this series, the wolves (and their wolf-side) are more on the periphery of the novel.

This series deals more with the men behaving in polite society.

In this particular book, the hero Wes, his twin brother Grey, and his elder...more

The Hadley men are rambunctious brats & totally uncouth when it comes to socializing. They come to live with theur half brother & after almost killing his kids in a race, they hire Madeline to turn them into gentlemen. She needs the $ & they need instruction.

After seeing Weston shift, he kidnaps Maddie & runs to scotland to get married so she will be forced to keep the secret. They are bing chased by her father the whole time. You run into more werewolves along the way & it'...more

I struggled throught the first two thirds of the book. I could not finish it. It became cookie cutter and immature. The hero had no backbone and the heroine was a spoiled grump. This series ends for me.

I think it might be one of my favorites, although I think Dash's book I liked a little bit more, but this installment had such character and personality to the story, that by the end of the book, you are left with satisfaction but wishing the story had never ended. The Wolf Who Loved Me is about Dash's younger brother, Wes....more

Yes this is part of a series, but it can be just as well be read as a standalone since it is also starting a new trilogy. To make a long story short, first there were the 3 Westfield Brothers, then we had Dash who stood a bit alone, then we got 3 vampire books with the remaining witches and now we have 3 more brothers (related to Dash)and they will find love. I made it sound complicated didn't it? Anyway, it works on its on in the end.

We met the brothers in previous books and they are just rakes...more

4 1/2 stars!
The worst moment for Madeline involved her continuing need for baths. Wes finds himself unable to deny her simple pleasures. However, she had one scene where she had disguised herself against the enhanced senses of werewolves was a complete hoot! She has no idea what she's done but Wes does and he is torn whether to tell her or not. She was so pleased with her little plan but it went as wrong as a trick can possibly go. It's when she's about to step into her bath that Wes realizes he...more

Have I mentioned that I love Lydia Dare's books? Each new book is even better than the last. I love how even though this is a 'new series' for them, really all of the books by the authors are interconnected with the same characters.

I must admit that I've been looking forward to Weston's story for a long time, and this book really met and exceeded any unrealistic expectations that I might have had. Weston is one of the twin 'pups' that we've read about previously in the series. He and his twin, G...more

This series certainly has come a long way since the first book (A Certain Wolfish Charm) was released. I was very excited to read about the first of Dash's half-brothers who I found delightfully amusing, albeit a bit childish for grown men/lycans but I guess that was part of their appeal.

Weston Hadley is one of three penniless brothers who just so happen to be Lycans, and if that secret isn't bad enough, he's also secretly enamored of Lady Madeline Hayburn who's dowry has drawn almost every tit...more

This was very enjoyable. Well written with a plot that was enjoyable and made sense. The heroine was a young woman who happily made the best of her situation. A pleasant change from regency heroine who try to be fiery and fight the hero all the time. The hero had loved her from afar for 3 years until fate threw them together. The love story was very strong.

The reason I dropped it a star is because the werewolf part of it was under developed. We knew practically nothing about the werewolf world o...more

Lady Madeline Hayburn has a hefty dowry - which means every gentlemen of the ton is trying to catch her. Even her neighbor the ever wild Weston Hadley.

If you are a frequent visitor you know I love Dare's Regency lycans & vampyres. This installment is no different, I loved it. I'm glad we get to see more of the Hadley brothers, they are every bit as fun as the Westfield brothers. The Wolf Who Loved Me is an excellent read. I love that, though Maddie and Weston are quite different in class (or...more

I wasn't very keen on the poor heroine being humiliated every time she turned around, but in the end, it was a highly entertaining book no matter my dislike of certain plot devices.

4/5 Stars, full review to follow.

A story of a love that broke boundaries. Wes knew he never had a chance with Madeline but when she sees him change on the night of the full moon, he abducts her and heads for the Scottish border. Marriage is the only way he can think to keep the secret safe. With the help of the coachman and a friend they meet along the way, Wes and Maddie make it to Scotland, and get married with no time to lose. Here their story takes a turn due to misconceptions and betrayal. Can Wes and Maddie break through...more

Confused? Well so am I. Here I was expecting a brooding full blooded alpha werewolf instead I got Justin Bieber who is too busy mooning over a spoiled bratty confused overly-sensitive simpleton heroine way above his station. Match made in heaven maybe? Wes acts like a stammering insecure puppy around Lady Madeline, who bless her heart, is the definition of milquetoast--an incredibly naive one to boot. It takes her almost a yea...more

Wesley Hadley is one of those Hadley's. Considered below par by the ton, Wes knows he can never have the woman who has his heart. Lady Madeline Hayburn is destined for greater things than just him.

Lady Madeline wants to come down off the pedestal she has been on for her whole life. She wants to be free to really find passion and true love. Finding herself on the way to Gretna Green with a Lycan is more than she can bear, but finding that beneath the scars, he is definitely the only man for her....more

From the moment I picked up The Wolf Who Loved Me I knew that Lydia Dare was going to take me on a wonderful journey. And let me tell you: I was right!

Lady Madeline Hayburn's father has decided it is past time for her to find a suitable husband. But the problem with every suitor is that none are interested in her, only her dowry. Maddie knew she would one day be forced into a loveless marriage, she just never expected him to be the scary, intriguing Mr. Hadley. If the shock of seeing, the sexy Weston Hadley change into werewolf was not enough to send her over the edge, then it defiantly sealed the deal when he chased her down and kidnaped her...more

Hello again. Yes, I book closer to the new release of Lydia Dare. I actually bought The Wolf Who Loved Me when it first came out and has been sitting in my Kindle for months waiting for me to read it. I know sad. I'm glad I waited until now and I can write about and what I thought of the book.

We meet Lady Madeline Hayburn back in Never Been Bit, and she was getting read to make her debut in the season to come. Three years later she's still on the marri...more

What happens when you take a Regency romance and throw in a little paranormal twist? You get another great novel from Lydia Dare. The Wold Who Loved Me is the perfect blend of historical and paranormal, so any fans of these genres are in for a treat!

Madeline is the perfect Lady, from the top of her well coifed head down to her clean little toes. She has been pampered, spoiled, and raised to marry and produce children. And up to now she has complied and followed her Father’s every wish. But when...more

The first half of the book is very engaging and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the second half is ruined by the over-reliance on tropes that I simply despise - silly misunderstandings and lack of communication between the hero and heroine.

As the story begins, Madeline is portrayed as loyal friend and an intelligent woman struggling against the dictates of her social station. However, once she and Wes set out on their journey together, she is revealed to be a spoiled and s...more

Lady Madeline Hayburn is pretty much considered on the shelf. She is beautiful and wealthy but very picky because after three seasons, she still hasn’t found a husband!

Maddie is pretty and popular but she doesn’t want to settle in marriage. Unfortunately, the one man who really attracts her is inimitably unsuitable. His name is Mr. Weston Hadley. But she can’t seem to stop staring at him or wanting to be around him. Whe...more

This was my introduction to the writing of Lydia Dare, who is actually the dynamic writing team of two women who take turns writing parts of each book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have been reading quite a bit of YA books and Christian self-help/parenting books lately and I was in desperate need of a good romance novel, this hit the spot perfectly. This book is technically part of a series, the Westfield Wolves, but it is loosely connected and you do not have to read the books prior to unders...more

With this new spin-off trilogy, Lydia Dare is giving readers more of her werewolves with the Hadley brothers, three rakes who get into trouble every chance they get.

I’m glad the wolves are back. I know Ms. Dare was trying to give readers something different with the last three books in the series that featured vampires. Those stories were good, but they just lack the flare of those werewolves that I’ve enjoyed so much from the beginning of this series. This time around we have some fun with the...more

I truly enjoyed this story from start to finish.

First off, I have only read the first of the Westfield Wolves Series--Book One, A Certain Wolfish Charm, to be exact. It has been a while since I have read this, but I am so glad that I decided to get back to the Westfield men and the other Regency gentlemen of Dare's world. Now I must go back and finish this delicious and wolfishly sexy series.

I really wanted to give this book 5 stars but I just couldn’t do it. I loved Weston Hadley. He was such a loyal and caring man who had been in love with Madeline since the first time he seen her. I liked the plot of this book-Madeline catches him turning into his biggest secret and Wes has no choice but to marry her so he forces her to Gretna Green! They encounter a few obstacles on their way from Madeline’s Ducal father, to Dovenby and his whore but what was really interesting was to see the co...more

I really wasn't sure how I was going to like this romance novel because of the whole werewolf/historical romance theme. It's one that I hadn't read before this one but, surprisingly this one was exceptionally entertaining.

From the first page I was hooked. I guess what surprised me most was that even thought the book is written by a fantastic duo the writing was seamless. Many times I've read a book where there is more than one author and you can see subtle changes in the writing when it switches...more
