Burial Instructions is an extraordinary book. To start with, the writing is superb, which is something you expect from a great writer like Elissa Ambrose. But I did not expect to be both drawn into the book and still be afraid to start each story as if it were about to assault me with the powerful message, psychological drama, and eerie atmosphere. I felt as if each story lured me deeper into a dimly lit maze that was reluctant to let me go.
