Great collection of offbeat stories about male sex workers. Anne Brooke's Where You Hurt the Most concerns an emotionless sexual automatum who is turned by a young customer with horrific facial disfigurement. Cat Grant's Priceless shows the way many young men finance their further education, although they don't all have the happy outcome of this story. If this is THE collection of 2012 for Riptide Rentboys, I'd hate to read what was left on the cutting room floor.

This trio of stories is kind of like Goldilocks and the Three Bears: one is unfathomably bad, one kind of meh, and the third is cute.

Let's start with the one most likely to result in a WTF? reaction.

"Cruce de Caminos," by Heidi Belleau and Violetta Vane (the authors' names sound like romance novel heroines, don't they?) seems to be one of those paranormal, "this is what the underbelly
First impressions: An unusual mix of stories ranging from angsty to eerie, all in *very* different writing styles. Can't choose a favorite yet - may need to re-read :-)
For Anne Brooke's novella Where You Hurt The Most. 3.5 stars, rounded up.

This is a short sweet and sexy story about a high class escort who is asked to take on a scarred and broken young man as a client and the connection they form. Dan was badly burned in a car accident and hides his face under a red hoodie (hence the cover - which is very well done). I loved the prose.
