She doesn’t remember her past, only her training. She can’t talk, not that a good slave should speak out of turn. None of that matters when she wakes up in the warm, rustic room. Her new master is distant but kind. There’s only one problem: he doesn’t want her.

Longing for the shackles of safety, she pulls from the last dregs of her will to prove her worth as a slave. It se...more

At some point, her previous life had slipped away from her, like an old skin that no longer fit.

I am so messed up over this book! I don't even know where to begin...how to think? I had to call a friend to help me with my thoughts after this one. I am...so...confused...shocked!

"What more do you want?"
"Freedom," I whispered.
"Freedom's an illusion. We all live in prisons of our own making. You picked this one."

This book reminds me of the movie Inception- It totally played with my brain! Completely...more

I'm not sure how to rate this. Have you ever both loved & hated a book? Warren has a gift when it comes to writing dark erotica and placing her readers dead smack in the middle of her mind games. The writing is fantastic, the plot and context superb...so what's my problem? I don't like this subject matter. I don't understand the whole slave/master thing. I do not understand the power exchange in relation to myself so it's hard for me to understand why anyone would do that. I also don't under...more

Earlier this year I read Trust in Me (I can’t remember who rec’d it to me, but someone did and thank you!) self published by Skye Warren. I liked its really dark erotic content. When she offered me her latest, Hear Me for review, I grabbed it.

However, Hear Me is even more extreme in its dark content and I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it. First let me say Skye Warren has a very intriguing voice and gave me a story that I had to finish, even if I was uncomfortable. As the reader, you are...more

Hear Me is dismal and draining, just like Skye Warren’s other works. You need to understand what you are embarking on and prepare yourself. It tears at your moral compass. This is my fourth book by Warren, and I found each entertaining!

The story begins with a girl, Melody, escaping a slave facility after enduring tremendous pain in the name of pleasure. She is an unwilling victim to human trafficking and her unbearable abuse breeds her silence. She is rescued by a man living on an island, a pa...more

This is the first story I have read by this author. I loved the cover. Hear Me started off great. I liked that the slave couldn’t talk and bought into it as a birth defect. It made the story interesting. Then, in a blink of an eye, she talks. Not only talks but in complete sentences as if she had talked her whole life. That was weird. Then we find that she is a college grad with high priced job and is into the BDSM scene where she was taken captive but doesn’t remember exactly how. The second ha...more

This was very unexpected. I did not see the twist at all--and I should have! I've read a book like this before with similar themes but not the same exact circumstances, so I felt like I should have seen it coming, but a teeny, tiny part of me is kind of glad I didn't and that the author was able to blow me away like that.

Again, I have to give props to Skye Warren on her writing in this book, especially. She used some rather lovely language and her analogies were beautiful and disturbing and it a...more

Hear Me is my first introduction to author Skye Warren and her world of Dark Erotica. The book was disturbing and haunting as it took me through the world of sadistic BDSM and a Master /Slave relationship.

Slave, (Melody) finds herself alone on an island in a cabin with a very gruff and handsome man, Sam. She has escaped horrors that no one person, let alone a woman, should endure and has very little to no recollection of her life before becoming a slave. She is a submissive that has entered a li...more

Skye Warren does it again with Hear Me her new release in the Non-consent/Dark Erotica series. She writes some of the most arousing, frightening, thought provoking, disturbing, dark erotica and I love it! When I finish one of Skye Warrens books I think to myself - damn I'm twisted; I loved the torture, the submission/compliance, the dominance/aggression, all of it combined make me crave more and I know it's so bad but I'm so thankful that there are authors out there like her that push my limits....more

I struggle to decide where to start! I’m very fenced about this story, because I like BDSM, but until this story, I didn’t realize that it was only to a point. The term “dark erotica” is no joke. It’s a very dark story involving hard core BDSM. Barring her captivity, there are several instances of questionable consent, yet they don’t cross the line and are surprisingly erotic.

While a great deal of this story is obviously physical, it’s also a very mental and emotional one. Her memories of her c...more

My main concern with the book is that there isn't enough of it. And I don't mean that in the "I want to read more of this, it's so great" sense. I literally mean the book would be better if there was more of it -- more explanation of the back stories; more insight into the relationships, existing & developing; more time spent by the hero & the heroine together so that their feelings make sense; better explanation of the logistics of everything, especially the deus ex machina coincidences...more

Skye Warren is my new go to girl for Dark Erotica.

At this point, I have a few. But this story moved me, pushed me, and made me want more. I think there is something disturbing about the fact I found this book ridiculously romantic. Then again, I also found the last chapter of Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty Erotica series. This story was no different for me, and it was 200 pages less than that. Perhaps that type of situation moves me. My husband thinks I have a romantic idea of the subby being save...more

This was a quick read, 100 pages or so. Despite its short length, the pace was kinda slow and I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters as much as books with similar story lines, like Comfort Food or Captive in the Dark. This book fell short of reaching either of those books' level.

The female character awakens in a stranger's house. She immediately feels at home, or at least safer than where she has been as she has just escaped from being held as a sex slave for reasons she can't remem...more

I was all set to take that trip down the road to the dark side again with Skye Warren, but I must say I was surprised. This one was a little lighter than the previous books I've read by this author, but still just as gripping and with the darkness of slavery and a little BDSM around the edges.

Since this is the third installment of the Dark Erotica series, I was prepared for Carlos and his sadistic means of torture to invade my dreams and turn them into nightmares. But, Carlos isn't in this book....more

Hear Me is by far my FAVORITE book of the Dark Erotica series! The book begins from "her" standpoint. She escaped, she wants freedom, and she wants to live!

She doesn't know who she is frankly she doesn't remember who she is. All she can recall is what she had endured but for how long and she knows for certain she is a "slave".

The book is told from "her" POV, which follows the first two books in this series. She awakes and wonders where she is when she encounters her "Master". Her "Master" is n...more

This was so different than the earlier stories in the series. I really liked it but...

It kind of reminded me of The After Hours from the Twilight Zone. But not exactly.

The whole "pretty girl" washed up on the beach theme reminded me of the classic and current story of how Aquaman's parents, Tom Curry and Atlanna, met. But not exactly.

Sam and Brendan actually reminded me Logan and Jake from Master of the Mountain. But not exactly.

"Master, you scared me."

The ending kind of made me think of The Gi...more

Skye Warren is one of those authors that quickly made it to my favorites list. Her writing is dark and captivating, and it can haunt you long after the last page is turned. Her words have such beauty, she can make the scariest and ugliest thing seem precious.

The first chapter jumps right into it. There is a woman who can’t speak. She can’t remember anything before her captivity, but she knows she is a slave – a sexual slave. It doesn’t take long before my heart is just breaking for her. I can’t...more

Skye Warren is one of those writers who choose prose as their medium but really write poetically. In HEAR ME, her descriptive powers are unleashed and the words flow to create pictures. Some are dark and fearful, others are soft and warm.
HEAR ME is not as terrifying as the blurb would indicate. The submissive/slave of the story is lost to herself. She has been so brainwashed she has lost her identity and even her own name, when she is found by Sam. Sam, as it turns out, is a burned out Dom, who...more

"She kissed him. His lips were unexpectedly soft. They parted- in surprise, she thought- and then she slipped her tongue inside. It had been forever since she'd done this, never had she done this, but it came to her like breathing. She needed it, and if he took it away, if he stopped her...
He did stop her, but only to reverse everything, changing it but leaving it the same, with only the flick of his tongue and the tightening of his hand on her hip. Then it was him kissing her; it was her sighin

This review was originally posted on my blog, Darkest Sins.

I devoured this book in a matter of hours! I literally couldn't put it down, I kinda felt like Melody, I couldn't escape from the reality I was living in and, even if I wanted to, everything was too good for me to leave.

"Hear Me" is sexy, exciting and it has an unusual veil of romanticism (so to speak) that totally seduces you... You soon fall for someone, it's practically impossible not to, and fantasize about this character so much to...more

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book.....not my favorite that's for sure.

Melody ( h) can't remember her past, all she can remember is the the horror that she's lived for far too long. Some how, some way she was abducted and trained to be a sex slave. She has been tortured beyond belief , so much so that not only can she not help but respond to situations and people the way her captors had trained her to, but she can't speak either. One day she sees her chance for escape and she takes...more

I don't even know how to say what I feel about this. I liked the premise. Kidnapped/Captured girl, trained and damaged(She doesn't remember anything, not even her name, and cannot speak), struggles to escape. Alright, I'm with you so far.

Then, she finds herself in a strange new situation with a new Master. Good stuff. The new Master is mostly kind and nice...Wait, isn't this Dark Erotica? How'd we go off the rails?

Then, she leaves and goes back to her normal life, which she's remembered, and the...more

This was my first dive into the pool of dark erotic romance, and I'd have to say that it made a pleasantly naughty splash.

At first I didn't know what to think about this book, I am still fairly new to the erotic genre and have just recently started reading more of it. Hear Me was truly a deliciously naughty story filled with sensuality, submission, and some hot scenes.

Melody was a Slave/submissive and when she wakes up in a white room with a mysterious man standing in the door way she automatica...more

This is a short book, my Nook showed it as 72 pages, but that's with a small snippet of the next book. I was able to read it in one day and I was dreading having to put this book down and go to work. It sucked me in right from the beginning. I've found over the years, after I first read Kitty Thomas, that I have a LOVE for Dark Erotica. Hey, don't judge me! LOL! I love the fact that these books always mess with your mind, it's like they have a little bit of a thriller in them too. At least for m...more

This book was provided to the reviewer by the author in exchange for an honest review at SeductiveMusings.blogspot.com

Melody has escaped and is on the run from those who are pursuing her. But it’s unclear who those people are, and if she will ever really escape them. She is found by a man who seems kind, but does not appear to want her, at least not at first. What comes after may be related to what came before, but until Melody’s memories return, she won’t know who to trust.

There isn't much more...more

When an authour you love recommends a read, you have to give it a try and I'm glad I did - Hear Me is dark but not too dark. It really is only a journey of discovery as the woman finds her way back to who she was and reconciles that with who she is now
To say more would be to give away essential elements in the book, but if you are looking for a warm and fuzzy BDSM read or easily upset, stay away, but if you want to have a read with a slight edge, then most definitely give this series a try. My r...more

I kept reading thinking there is coherency to this story, where all the dots connect but no, there aren't any. There are all these time jumps, free cab ride in a big city, people in club El Diablo (which I have read about somewhere in fiction before and DNFed) and general feel like things were left out on purpose for me to figure out and come to my own concusions. I'd rather read and form an opinion as that is what iI expect when purchasing a book: a full story. Where is Brendan's part here? He...more

A dark erotic read that had me at the edge of my seat anticipating what would come next. It will have you wanting to yell out loud at the top of your lungs and wanting to slap around a character or two. Such vivid imagination and originality that you’ll feel as if you are right there watching it all unfold. A great read for all and any BDSM/erotic readers that accept a dark touch to the lifestyle. This was my first Skye Warren read and WILL NOT be my last!

Not sure about this one. Skye Warren writes well and I do enjoy her writing style. This book seemed different somehow, I found the second half confusing and I am still not sure entirely what happened. There are so many questions left unanswered...

Not my favourite book in the series but I still have high hopes for book 4....

Hear Me was amazing. It was just the right length for the story, and was well written and interesting. The plot line was really well done and kept me wanting for more. The main characters definitely were developed and whole. I found myself wanting to know more about their motives, their desires, their past – the sign that I’ve truly found a special book.

I love a story that doesn’t tell me everything about the characters and leaves some mystery and wonder about their past, present and future, and...more

HEAR ME is the third enthralling tale in Skye Warren's Dark Erotica series. The first two books, KEEP ME SAFE and TRUST IN ME, were riveting reads that pushed even a die hard dark erotica fan like me outside my comfort zone. HEAR ME is possibly the lightest (most romantic, even?) of the three books, though no less powerful. Don't be fooled when I say "romantic." It's Ms. Warren's brand of love story - unsettling and unapologetic. Her writing is heavy on non-consent and S&M themes, so please...more
