This was a free read from AmazonKindle. I liked it from the start by chapter four I was hooked. It is taking a different twist on vampires and shifters. Niki a vampire is out to kill her sire she gets some help from a Apache shaman named Shane but the fates have a plan for these soulmates.

I will begin by saying I found this on Barnes and Nobles website as a free read. As you are all aware I am very skeptical of some of the free reads out there. This is yet another that has been able to break my barrier.

As a fan and frequent reader of the vampire genre you'd think I wouldn't come across any new ideas of the vampire mythos. Amber Kallyn's vampires proved me wrong as they can walk in daylight and live on both food and blood. Niki DeVeraux subsists not only on food, but on revenge as well. I really enjoyed Bloodstorm. You can read the synopsis on everyone's review so I will share a few of things/characters that I really enjoyed.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the opening with the witch and dark setting. I'm not crazy about books with witches and didn't know how much magic would be in the novel, I like to stay open minded and creepiness only lasted the prologue. I just glanced over the opening again because I forgot it (that's how into the rest of the story I got)

Every once in a while I pick up a freebie that blows me away. That’s exactly what happened when I read Bloodstorm. The synopsis sounded interesting, so I decided to give it a try. It was totally worth it.

I had followed Amber Kallyn's Dragos series. While I enjoyed these books, they fell into a very specific niche. This is what I expected from Bloodstorm. I expected it to be a enjoyable, quick read that I didn't have to invest too much into. Well, shame on me. This was a complete break from what I had come to expect from Ms. Kallyn. It was a refreshing take; the characters could be more relaxed but had to be somewhat careful at the same time. What an awesome story. This book has all of the angst of fated lovers believing they shouldn’t and can’t be together and overcoming it all. Niki has been suffering for 200 years and is so scared to hope that she might actually have a life after her vengeance is obtained. Then she hears Shane say something stupid that he regrets as soon as he says and takes off.

I was lucky to receive a copy of this book through the GoodReads First Reads program.
What a fun book! The author doesn't mess around - the two main characters are introduced (and of course attracted to each other) right out of the shute. That's kind of a refreshing change.

Awesome! I really enjoyed the originality, excitement and magical properties in this story. Fast paced, action packed and very sexy! Oh and then there’s the vivid writing and amazingly hot hero (yes, a very hot Shaman believe it or not!) I cannot wait to see where Amber will take us in the next book of the series!

This was pretty good for a novella focusing mainly on the central romance and Niki DeVeraux's hunt for the monster that killed her family. The addition of family relationships, the King/Master vampire and his clan, assorted characters that are introduced and abandoned, and the werewolves that were only shown as raging out of control overwhelmed the limitations of a novella and would work better in a full length novel.
If this is a taste of what Amber Kallyn can do, I eagerly await your novel.

Action packed with a romance thrown in. I know it's not supposed to be like real life because let's face it no one would be interested but these just met heart racing lust between strangers is even too much fantasy for me. Wow I sound cynical! One too many fights without enough description to feel like you actually understood what just took place. There is potential here. I'd like more emphasis on character and for the story not to be so rushed.

This is a fast paced book that sucks you in from the start. Not once did I find myself skipping paragraphs or pages as I do in some books because of bland moments. This was the exact opposite of bland/boring. I made sure to read everything as I quickly learned that you might miss out on some action. To make this read even spicier was the many supernatural elements within the plot. The characters were unique and entertaining.
not gonna lie, picked this up to read because it was free. and i have to say, i loved this book. come on...how can you go wrong with vamps, weres, and a hot shaman?!?!?
only thing i would have changed, is the length, i would have liked this to be longer, i wasn't quite ready to leave this story when it ended :0)

Wow. I'm new to Amber Kallyn's work and I really enjoyed this story. Very engaging and unique paranormal world. She really grabbed me and yanked me in. Loved her characters, they were unique, strong, yet vulnerable. I'm going to be keeping an eye on Amber Kallyn's up and coming work for sure. Nicely done, Amber!!

Loved this book! It reads very quickly, and the plot keeps you interested. The main character is also the perfect mix of tough and sweet, and her love interest is... hot. I would recommend this book to anyone.

I liked this book very much. It kept me interested from beginning to end. I will definitely recommend it to everyone and will purchase more books by Amber Kallyn.
Just the right mixture of action and character building made this an enjoyable novel. Though the attraction was instant (which in reality is often the case) the romance took its time to build and develop. I loved the mixture of vampire, werewolves, and a touch of native mythology.
Took a chance on another freebie and was rewarded with a great story...A different twist on the usual vampire genre....Enjoyed it a lot!
