Too bad Finn isn’t leaving! He is staying to protect his friend’s sister because there is a group that is targeting his entire SEAL team and their relatives. With Hunter gone, he feels it is duty to watch over the beautiful and impetuous Meara. But he finds Meara caught up in her own devious plans that don’t include him. When he realizes she is looking for a mate, he also discovers he doesn’t want her to choose anyone else but him. But first he must protect her, but does that mean full body coverage?!

Terry Spear excels at bringing humanity to her characters. Although they are super powerful shifters and SEALs, her heroes are down to earth and extremely likeable. Finn is no exception. He almost seems to have the boy next door feel. He comes with the noble aim of trying to protect his friend’s sister from an unknown assassin but finds himself caught in the trap of Meara’s lovely eyes! Meara knows her own mind and is prowling for a mate. (I like a woman of action!) But Meara is really surprised when she finds the annoying friend of her brother getting in the way, on her nerves, and being extremely irresistible! When the assassin does target Meara, the stakes get higher and so does the intensity of the relationship between Finn and Meara. I really liked how both characters changed their opinions of each other. Finn sees himself as the protective older ‘brother.’ And Meara finds him an annoying presence that is bad influence on her real brother. As both grow to care for each other, I really found myself invested in their relationship and enjoying their sweet and caring journey to love. Although this story has a serious and dangerous theme I found it more light reading that was entertaining, rather than grim.

If you are looking for a quick and fun paranormal romp with entertaining characters that are easy to care for, this series will quickly become a favorite.

The last book I reviewed by Terry Spear was ‘Dreaming of the Wolf’, and before that was; ‘Heart of the Highland Wolf’ so I’ve gotten used to her writing style and I really like it. But in this review I’m going to talk about ‘A Seal in Wolfs Clothing’ which I just finished.

We start out where we left off in ‘To Tempt the Wolf’ with Hunter’s twin sister Meara. She’s determined to find a mate, and why shouldn’t she be? With her brother safely on his honeymoon, she’s finally left to her own devices, and has every intention on utilizing the time to herself. She’s already made plans with several apha’s and is quite intent on getting to know them while her overbearing overprotective brother is away. What she doesn’t count on is Finn Emerson coming to screw it all up.

As part of Hunter’s elite Navy SEALS team, Finn, and every other male in the vicinity knows that Meara is strictly off limits, and even though he keeps telling himself that, he can’t make his body listen. He wants her, and the worst part? She wants him too, there’s no resistant to keep them apart….except a deadly assassin.

I am in LOVE with this book! I say that a lot, I know, but trust me, Terry Spear is a great author, and she has several note-worthy books, it bears repeating! This one in particular is great because we are thrown into the world of intrigue, and adventure. We get to read about sexy SEALS, and their wolfish ways, while joining in on the mystery of finding a killer, and even falling in love along the way. What isn’t to love about that???

Meara is strong, independent, and bull headed- she doesn’t take orders, well and she’s all too ready to kick butt, while Finn is strong, protective, and not mention he’s one of her brother’s best friends. He knows the rules the same as everyone else, but can’t keep himself from wanting to be with her. It’s like they were MADE for each other!

I love Ms. Spear’s ability to develop and sustain characters, give them spirited dialog, and a plot to bring out everyone’s true personality. She has main characters, secondary characters, and many of them have been with us through several books. That doesn’t leave her unable to introduce exciting new characters, such as Bjornolf. I surely do hope his book is next because he’s sexy, overly self-confident, and such a mysterious tormenter!

I have loved Terry Spear's wolves. Her books have always been detailed and description when it comes to the wolf lore.

However it has gotten to the point that the stories are all so similar to each other that I am beginning to feel like I'm reading the same book over and over. Sure the characters are different but the basics stay the same. Perhaps I just need a break and a new world to read about it then I can come back to this one later feeling fresh with a renewed interest.

It’s a great set up -- Finn is going to protect the baby sister of his Navy SEAL buddy from her wayward ways. No man is good enough to be her mate but does he really stop to wonder why every single male is suspect and why he has such a keen interest in being so ‘thorough’? It can’t possibly be because he’s deluding himself, can it? No way could it be because he wants her for himself. He’s much too noble and focused to fall onto that well trodden path of lovey dovey cooing like his friend. He’s made of sterner stuff. He’s a soldier. Yeah, right. I could see him falling hard and wagging his tail all the way with mock growling and posturing. I adored Finn.

Good thing Meara is a woman not easily thrown off of the scent and she gives as good as she gets. I had fun watching the heroine be herself. She’s certainly stubborn, feisty and opinionated. She’s a planner, that one. But she never ever could have foreseen the action and diabolical betrayals that blow her little mating plot to smithereens. Her reactions to the bad news as well as the good were fascinating to watch. She’s not a weak character and she took turns impressing me and surprising me.

The drama that starts the ball rolling happens pretty fast in the story. It doesn’t take long before Finn and Meara are on the run, not knowing truly who to trust. People they thought they couldn’t trust became integral to their safety and those they never gave a second thought to their loyalty got a rude awakening. It was sad, really. It seems like bad guys are the best actors because they have the most to gain and believe they can’t lose. They treat it like a cat and mouse game with deadly intent but enjoy the feeling of power they get from pulling the wool over their eyes. It took some delicate and timely maneuvering to get the players in place for the big showdown. The author did an excellent job of putting it all together, stringing me along and hiding who the true villains were until the last possible moment.

Wait until readers get a load of Bjornolf. You want to talk about a hunky guy with chutzpah and mysterious vibes? He’s got it in spades. What an awesome character to introduce and tease readers with. I hope his story is next because I’ve certainly taken a keen interest in the man. So effective, manly and maddening, he was a great addition to the story. And what he used to tie up the other operative? Oh yeah, I’m there. Any man that cheeky has got to have a story to tell.

As I’ve come to expect from Ms. Spear, when she gets her hero and heroine together it’s a sizzling good time with plenty of great point-counterpoint dialogue, sensual build-up and scorching delivery. The editing was perfect, the descriptive words painted scenes that jumped off of the pages and grabbed a reader’s attention. The action was tight and delivered with a high-powered punch. I wouldn’t have expected anything less from a story about a well trained Navy SEAL and I was certainly satisfied. So was Meara.

As for the happily ever after, it started off romantic and thrilling and then the author put the brakes on by making me laugh and giggle. Finn is SUCH a guy! See me roll my eyes. And you know what? It fit. Perfectly.

A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing is a non-stop action packed romance with kick, growls and sexy attitude. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough because there was so much going on, I couldn’t wait for what came next. A word to the wise – don’t start this book close to bed time, it’s too exciting! I also thought the guy on the cover with those dazzling aqua-blue eyes perfect brain-food for imagining Finn as he wooed his feisty heroine. Get your own copy and experience the adventure because he is as the story is, irresistible.(less)

They will have to stay alive long enough to work out their relationship and its impact on Hunter and the rest of the pack.

An entertaining light read that gives a glimpse of some of the members of the Greymere pack as they deal with the reorganization that has occurred. Finn is an attractive alpha male and not used to staying in one place but he feels a strong sense of responsibility for his SEAL teammates. Meara is vaguely dissatisfied with her life and has decided that it time to take matters in her own hands but must remember her status within the pack when making her decision. The mysterious alpha males that seem to come out of the woodwork and the uncharacteristic actions of some of her pack members make Meara a bit unsure which seems to contradict her alpha status but the story is still a nice mixture of suspense and paranormal elements, albeit a little choppy. Perhaps a familiarity with all of the previous books in the series would help give a deeper perspective.

Finn Emerson. Oh.My.Gosh. If he truly is who he is on the cover, I totally MUST MUST MUST have one! From the way he was in the story, all protective, yet a loner, of Meara, I so wish he was real! The way he jumped into helping his SEAL teammate's twin sister when her life might be in danger was absolutely amazing. He's a take charge, alpha male and one that I totally fell in love with! When he would shift, wowza! Ms. Spear totally made it sound incredible! As he continues to protect Meara, though, something happens to him....something he tries to fight.

Meara Greymore. A beautiful young woman, leader of her pack when her twin, Hunter, is away on his honeymoon. But, there's a problem....someone is out to assassinate her. Who is it? And what lengths will Hunter's team go to protect her? All she wants is to find a suitable alpha male werewolf to take for a life mate, but she absolutely will NOT consider a SEAL as that life mate....until Finn kisses her.

My one downfall to this amazingly captivating 5 Book worthy paranormal romance? I haven't read any of the others!!! But, take heart! Ms. Spear keeps her reader update to date enough that the reader just coming in has no problems with being confused. The setting of the story was stunning...the Oregon coastline and woods-y outdoors. I could just feel myself swept away to the beautiful scenery. And the passion between Finn and Meara? While the entire book was NOT about the bedroom, when it was...oh la la!!! I LOVED it! You could feel the sparks flying, that's for sure!

This book has something for every book lover. Romance, paranormal, suspense, military, friendship...all of it put together made this one of my favorite paranormal romances ever! I can't wait to read another Terry Spear novel! She's on my must have favorite authors reading list! PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY NOW!!!!

I read to escape, I read for entertainment. Reading takes me to different places and introduces me to new people and adventure. These are all good reasons to read Terry Spear’s A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing. I had read another of the author’s books a while ago, Seduced by the Wolf, and had enjoyed it, too. I had liked the characters in Seduced by the Wolf because they were fleshed out a bit and had back-story and dimension to them. Ohhhhhhhhhhh Finn...I don't know if there are any proper words to describe you. I adore you and you aren't even my favorite alpha. I enjoyed getting to know Finn very much. He was a joy to read. I've never read a Terry Spear book before; A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing is number 9 (I think ) in a series, but the book was a good stand-alone, filling me in on backstory without being irritating or boring.

When I first started reading this I was confused about what was going on. Even though it is a standalone book, I feel that reading the previous books would have cleared up some of the back story. For one thing, the DNA issue. I’m sure that TS explained this in another book but in this one there was nothing, not a peep. Meara was my second problem. She didn’t seem much of an Alpha female to me. Apparently, she has been around for a few years but in grown up years she seemed 18 at best. Then there is the usual, everyman in sniffing distance wants her, even though I wasn’t exactly sure why. Mid book I started to like Meara better, there was a shift in her behavior that appealed to me and by the end I really liked her.

Now, I’m not hating on this book in the least. TS writes very well and the story flows along at a good pace and the couple do hang out and talk. Now there is a concept. Yep people, they got to know each other. As much as you can with a nut hot on your trail. I really enjoyed the scenes on the beach and cuddling in the bed. It was too adorable that Meara read romance novels. Of course they were the Highland Werewolf kind. Finn was a protective guy, albeit a little over the top Alpha at times but it was charming at moments.

The hanky panky, let me tell you that my kindle smoldered and at one point ignited. I fanned my cheeks and blushed till there was no tomorrow. It was good 
As secondary characters go Rourke is so adorable. He’s a new wolf that’s needs looking after, well maybe. When he is wolf fighting with a certain someone, what he’s thinking while fighting is so funny. I love humor in a book, I love to laugh and Rourke is a good comic relief.

This is a fun read; the men are hot and all alpha, plenty of action in and out of the bed and well worth the read.

Can Finn and Meara find a middle ground to build off of or are they just caught in the heat of the moment? With the enemy drawing closer distractions can be deadly.

This is the second novel I have read from author Terry Spear, the first one being Dreaming of the Wolf (#8). A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing didn’t have any connection to the previous novel that I could see and though you could tell that there were several back stories with Meara’s brother’s marriage and Finn’s team the author provides just enough detail to keep you from feeling lost.

The story built upon itself nicely with romance, suspense, mystery and action. The relationship between Finn and Meara developed at a natural pace with both characters overcoming conflict and finding a common ground. Finn starts right off the bat emitting some uber sexiness and that continues throughout the entire novel, I really loved him. He shows Meara that sometimes what you’re looking for is directly in front of you, you just have to see it. Meara was a strong heroine who knows her limits and capabilities, someone I could easily root for. The chemistry between Finn and Meara started out as a slow smoke but eventual built to a roaring fire. Finn was attracted to Meara from the get-go but Meara had her doubts, I liked how they found a kind of friendship and respect first before getting down and dirty, though that part wasn’t too shabby either. A lot of sexual tension though until they reached that point along with some major teasing. Their biggest obstacle however is a future and whether either of them can compromise in their vision of it. But there was no doubt that this couple would get their HEA on the end.

The plot of A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing mainly focused on the romance but the mystery of the assassin and action of assassin attempts added some nice suspense that kept me turning the pages. All in all, a good entertaining read for paranormal romance fans who like their main characters on the furry side. J I’ll be reading more from this author and hope to get to the whole Heart of the Wolf series one day. And isn't this cover just scrumptious? Yum(less)

I love werewolves and this is a prime example of a hot as hell, Alpha male. I couldn’t wait to see how Finn and Meara work through their differences. I love the fact that they’ve been fighting the attraction for so long and then fate throws them together where they can resist it no longer. There is non-stop action and loving in this book. This is a light paranormal romance. I originally tagged it "Erotic-Werewolves" but deleted that tag as the sex in this book is not intense or explicit enough for that genre. Terry Spear's, A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing was an absolute amazing read. It just goes to show his books could do well as a stand alone too. I have to admit, I've never read any of Terry Spear's books until now, this is my first one. Which has in turn made me go buy others.

Meara is taking advantage of her brother’s absence. The pack alpha is on his honeymoon, so the time is right for Meara to do a little mate hunting. Taking care of the cabin rentals where their pack has relocated on the Oregon coast, she’s scheduled a number of alpha wolves to take some R&R or do a bit of business while she checks them out and they hopefully reciprocate. You have to give the woman props. She thinks ahead as well as on her feet. Her plans are interrupted just as the first guest arrives, and she is not a happy camper. Seems she’s traded one alpha wolf for another, the kind who like to tell her what to do all the damn time!

Knowing Hunter, his mission partner and Meara’s brother, would want him to take care of the impulsive she-wolf while he’s out of town, Finn – once a SEAL, always a SEAL – takes it upon himself to protect Meara when he learns of a threat against their team. It’s possible this unknown threat can get to Hunter through his loved ones, Meara being the first on the last after his wife. So Finn begins to set up cameras and listening devices in Meara’s cabin to keep tabs on her. And on the men he discovers she’s invited to her find-a-mate party. Keeping the woman under control is going to try his patience, he knows. But he’s quickly learning Meara deserves admiration and respect, and he’s determined to keep his distance.

However, things go wrong from the beginning. Once a dead body is found not too far away from Meara’s place, they learn the first visitor of the week is not who he says he is. So Finn knows he’s done the right thing by sticking close to Meara. Now he’s ready to drag her away to a safe house which offers more protection and will hopefully make his job easier. Getting Meara to agree is the only problem. She surprises him, though, and after only a little bit of grumbling and hassle, she docilely – well, as docile as Meara can be anyway – accompanies Finn to their destination.

What makes this book so much fun is watching Finn try so very hard to keep his hands off Meara. Of course, he doesn’t stand a chance. She riles him up something fierce, a state no other woman has caused in him Once she leaves her idea that Finn wouldn’t make a good mate behind, things really begin to pick up between them. Talk about sexy, sizzling, and sensual. Each time they come together, more barriers fall. Finn finds that perhaps settling down won’t be all that bad for a guy like him. Meara discovers having someone to pamper her and take care of her doesn’t make her weak and it feels oh-so-good.

One of the best things about Ms. Spear’s shifter stories is the actual shifting from human to wolf. She’s not stingy with these scenes and they’re always enjoyable. You can tell she’s done her research concerning wolves and packs. From Finn and Meara running through the forest to the intense fight scene near the end of the book, every one of these scenes is well done. The shifting is one of the major reasons I come back to her books again and again. Those alpha wolves are another.

This was a very good read because with of the way Terry Spear’s writes she brings out her characters in such a way that you really feel you get to know them. I was just a little disappointed in the beginning of story, and was not enjoying it as much as the other books, it had just a little too much action and not enough romance between Finn and Meara. Ok let me start with saying I love Terry Spear's wolves. I picked up “Destiny of a Wolf” a few years ago, then had to buy the whole series. This story caught me from beginning until the end. I loved Meara with her take no BS, Alpha in her own right personality. You have to love a woman who can hold her own against a man. With a feisty attitude and backbone, not to mention a rifle under her bed, she can bring an Alpha SEAL to his knees. Finn had me swooning. I love and I mean LOVE Alpha men and Finn is that in spades. Finn and Meara struggle with their growing attraction, but the kisses between them, heat up and the foreplay, without the actual mating, sizzles. Spears definitely threw me for a loop in the end of the story. I was like ‘Really? I had no idea.’ and ‘Wasn't expecting that‘. Needless to say, it was a great surprise, since I thought I had it all figured out. I definitely loved this book. From the chemistry between the characters to the intrigue it leads up to, not to mention the slow building yet sizzling romance between Finn and Meara, I was not wanting it to end. It left me almost pleading for more. I know one guy I want to see more of is Bjornolf! Spear you did it to me again. I am in love with the wolf world you created and wouldn't mind an Alpha SEAL wolf of my own.

Meara is a strong woman with a mind of her own. She's looking for an alpha to mate with but she wants someone who will treat her as his equal, not someone who will try to control her. I don't usually care heroines with alpha personalities because I can't help feeling like they're always trying to prove something. What I really liked about Meara is that she knows her own strength and is just looking for someone to respect that. Can't say that I thought that person was Finn at first because he just kept thinking about how sexy she is and how he can protect her. But he started to grow on me as the story unfolded and he saw that Meara is more than a damsel who needs to be looked after.

There is sexual tension between Meara and Finn from the start but it took a little longer for me to feel any real chemistry. Their thoughts kept turning to sex and I was worried that's all their relationship would be. As we get further into the book, Finn and Meara start opening up and getting to know one another and I could feel actual substance to their relationship. By the end I was convinced these two were a good match and just wish I didn't have to wait so long for them to finally get into bed together. There's a lot of hot teasing and almost moments but it's not until the last few chapters of the book do they have sex. I felt it was a little too much teasing and by the time they actually mated, I didn't care as much as I should have for the big moment.

The biggest obstacle between Meara and Finn being together is not the assassins after them but Finn's work as a SEAL and Meara's want of not having to worry if her mate will make it home to her. Both were pretty set in their ways but it was always obvious something would be worked out. Yes, the ending was predictable but sometimes I need a book that I can count on delivering a HEA and that's what this book did.

In A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing, there are assassins after Meara and her brother Hunter. You don't find out why until the end so it made for a good mystery but this story took a back seat to Meara and Finn's developing relationship. I tend to like a little more story to my romance but with a couple of close calls and interactions with interesting side characters, I ended up really enjoying this book. I haven't read all the books in Terry Spear's Heart of the Wolf series but these last couple ones I did pick up have been entertaining and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

I received this book via Netgalley.com, and am so happy that I did. I requested this book not knowing it was part of series. (Unobservant me. I saw a wolf and and Navy and clicked request!) So with that being said and this being the 9th book, I haven't read the previous 8. But when I started reading the book, I realized I could get the drift of what happened in the previous book. This was its own book and I wasn't confused at all with the storyline/plot of the story and after reading this book, I definitely need to read the other 8, since this one was so good!

On to the review...

I really loved all the characters in this book. Meara, Finn, Hunter, Rourke, and everyone in the SEAL team. Finn and Meara are by far my favorite. I love the relationship they started out with, and I love the relationship they ended with. They started off a little rocky. Meara with her feisty attitude and Finn with his dominant take on issues that dealt with her. But from the very beginning you could tell they had a chemistry with each other that they where both skeptical to pursue, which I loved by the way. At the end... So happy!

Hunter was your typical big brother and he prayed the role exceptionally. I really like Hunter. Rourke was kind of dorky to me, but that is what made me love him. The SEAL team, especially Anna, all made me laugh. Even though Anna wasn't an "official" member of the team, she was my fave within them. Bjornoff (definite spell check there. Don't have my kindle beside me..) was something else. He made me laugh, especially when he got socked in the face! His response was too funny!

This book was filled with action, which by now you guys know is a major point I love in a book. This book was definitely a page turner. Filled with romance and filled with action. I am undeniably a werewolf kind of girl. But the ending of this book shock me. I did not expect so and so (Lol) to be apart of it! I was like what? Nooo? Not you, why you... Great ending!

Overall this book was very enjoyable. It was a pleasure to read and I did not want to put it down. If you are a paranormal romance and a werewolf fan, you should really read this book!
