ok so this book is really good in a way that makes me say erg. i feel like i got all twisted up inside a tinfoil hat. there is this weirdawesome combination of simplicity and complexity that makes you say i could do that/how did he do that? like trapping you inside some kind of poetry cockroach motel.

Hallelujah, Giant Space Wolf is funny, insightful, irreverent, and, in a strange way, hopeful. In these poems Daniel Bailey takes you to a Lakers game, gets drunk, and starts driving on the wrong side of the road on the way home. You're left shaken, but profoundly thankful to still be alive. A frank and sometimes unsettling investigation of life, love, and despair, Hallelujah, Giant Space Wolf is easily one of my favorite collections of poetry I've read thus far.
