The best book about dog's loyalty i've ever read. Very tragic book, i cried all the way :(

The best story I have ever read. This book will never leave my heart!

This just may be the most amazing loyal-dog story I have ever read, and nothing I write can do it justice, but let me fumble my way through! Beem is such a sweet, wonderful setter, with the best owner you could ask for. The first quarter of the book with them is almost idyllic, until he falls ill and is forced to leave Beem behind. From there the adventure really begins. It's exciting but also heartbreaking to watch Beem wander all over the city and countryside seeking his hospital-ridden master ...more

A great book that can make a grown man cry. Not only it tells you about Bim's struggles but it's also about people being vile.

I read it twice: 6 years ago when I was 12 and just few weeks ago. Both times it was worth reading and, though I resisted crying, it touched me no matter how hard I thought I am. Worth reading.

My very first grown-up book.

I cannot think of another book that has touched me so deeply with a simple yet beautiful story. It's a sad story with deep emotion and profound meaning. The essence of friendship, simple trust, ordinary loyalty, and the betrayal of these qualities, all told through the experience of a dog.

It has a tragic ending. "And life goes on. It goes on because there is hope," as author Gavrill Troyepolsky tells us. And Beem was not dead for many. He just could not be found for many townspeople, at that mom

There's too much emotion one might emerge reading this story, as though they can not believe it is real or they are not sure whether they like this great work of Troyepolsky.
However, when a story can arouse such strong emotions in their readers, it might be considered - a masterpiece :)

In Vietnamese, it is published under the translated title: "Con Bim Trắng Tai Đen"
I read this book when I was at 12 or 13, my father showed this book to me & told me the plot, I became so much interested, & after finishing the book, I was crying from inside my heart, & thought it was too much for me, I remember the story effected me so much that I was sick for 'bout two/three weeks, thinking 'bout Bim's misery every moment, & pouring tears ...

The very first fiction in childhood made me cry.
I have read this as a kid but did not recall it was this sad. Saddest book I have ever read. I probably would not survive the movie. Oh, Bim.
