Dying at the hands of a psycho was a shock. Having my life returned to me by an angel was incredible. Being named a Supernatural Treasure and being given Sam as my guard was pretty darn awesome. Acquiring a debt for it all - well, I should have seen it coming. Now here we are, fighting demons from hell, caring for a boy that I just don't trust and traveling to faraway plac...more

I got a copy for review in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! I really enjoyed book 1, but this book is so much better. We already are introduced to the world in book 1 and it seems the real story starts in this book. And the story is great, I didn't want to put this book down.

What I really love about this series are the characters. They develop so much in this series, you see heven growing and geting stronger. But also the relationships between the characters are so nicely done. T...more

Five stars! The sequel is even better! Full of surprises and secrets!

For Heven, having her life returned comes with a heavy price. She is the guardian of a secret treasure map that must be returned to the catacombs of Rome. If this scroll falls into the wrong hands, it would mean chaos, war and demons plaguing the Earth. Thankfully, she is not alone in her epic quest. At her side and always her guardian is Sam. Her boyfriend and protector, a boy she loves more than her own life. Together they in...more

Would you risk everything, even your life if need be—to save the one you love?

For Sam and Heven, the main characters in Cambria Hebert’s thrilling Heven and Hell series, life means nothing if they can’t spend it together. In “Masquerade,” the stage is set for these two characters to plunge into danger and despair so they can eventually find happiness together, and then things escalate as good and evil vie for their souls in Hebert’s latest release, “Charade.” Sam’s younger brother, Logan, adds...more

SUMMARY (50 words or less)

I read the first book a while back. But when the opportunity came for me to read, I jumped on it. This was a solid continuation of the series. I almost feel like we’ve come full circle. The cliffhanger is a little dicey. I want to...more

This book takes up right where the first one lets off. Heven has died and been given her life back. Sam has given his life for Heven and been given it back after not being able live without him. In this book they have the scroll and need to keep it hidden. They are fighting to get it back to where it should, in Rome. They manage to get in a school field trip to Italy, convenient right, and set off on their journey. Things are different now though. Kimber isn't friends with Heven any more. She i...more

You should all know that I am a huge fan of Ms. Hebert. She has also become a great friend of mine via internet. I will meet her one day LOL but I need to say I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Hell, I love all her books. Her novellas are great as well, but this one takes the cake! :)

I could not put this book down. Book 1, you get to meet the characters and learn who they are and what they are about, but this book is so much more in depth. Especially adding Logan to the mix. After finding out all those secre...more

I loved this book. I didn't realize it at the time that this was the 2nd book in the series so I read Masquerade first. What a delight both books were. I am looking forward to the third installment. Sam and Heven are wonderful together and I can't wait to see what happens with Gemma and Cole. The story itself is very intriquing but touches on Heven's vulnerabilty considering her attach. Her mother is not a character that I like very much but it seems she has some redeeming qualities. The series...more

Logan is still being a little prick to Heven, in fact he seems to get a little more hostile. Gran is doing good. And this is where everything changes.

Sam and Heven have to get the scroll to Rome. Heven's mom was not going to let her go and in fact had wanted to send her to a church camp, because she is "marked by evil". But that is going to change.... Heven's mom does a complete 360. Her new boyfriend talks her into letting Heven go on the trip. Heven's mom is loving and peaceful. She accepts Sa...more

My Review:
Holy cow, Batman! Hold on to your tights! This book is CRAZY GOOD!!! Okay, so I'm a dork. Now you know. Let's move on...

Cambria Hebert hits her full stride in book 2 of her bewilderingly creative Heven and Hell series and you do not want to miss out on the action, oh and the romance, oh and the suspense...

As much as I've loved everything up to this point, this book brings it all together and sets it afire. I'll admit I felt...more

Heven’s life may have been saved but it means she now has a very large debt to repay. As the guardian of a list of everyone who will bring good to humanity everyone in Hell will now do anything to get hold of her and the treasure she carries. The only people she can rely on for help are her friends but as they are starting to act weird can she really trust them.

Charade is brilliant, it is even better than Masquerade so if you liked the first you will love the second. I really liked the new chara...more

So loving this series, what a storyline.

How tough is Heven, with everything that is going on, she just rocks it! After being disfigured, falling in love, killed, brought back to life, gaining a brother, I am sure not many people could endure this.

So a trip to Italy, to put the scroll in its rightful place, we all knew it wasn't going to be easy, but with not one but two strong alpha male protectors, things get bad fairly quickly, even Kimber seems to be thawing! if only.

I am loving the bond that...more

I’m actually pretty sad about this book, and the fact I have to mark it as a DNF. Especially as I was strongly encouraged to read it and was expecting Charade to exceed Masquerade, book 1 in the series. And even once I’d finished, I realised I had absolutely no idea how to write my review because my feelings for the book are just so all over the place. So I figured the only way to express why I stalled out is by sharing snippets from my progress updates that I knocked out as I went through the b...more

I was not disappointed with the second book in the Heven and Hell Series :D!

Heven has been given her life back by the angel, Airis, and has been named a
Supernatural Treasure. That is not all Sam, a hell hound, has been assigned as her guard against all the evil. Now, they both have a mission to go to the Catacombs in Rome and return the Treasure Map, which is an important list of people who are meant to do good things on earth. If this list falls into the hands of a Demon the lives of the peopl...more

This review is of a copy from the author I got for an honest review.

Heven and Sam thought the worst was over when Sam chased the rest of the Hellhounds out of town but they were wrong. Heven's new task set out for her by a messenger from Heaven sets a whole new path of danger before the two. Add to this Heaven's new abilities, Sam's new charge, Kimber's spiraling jealousy and Cole's confusing interest in Heven and you have a great setup for a second book.

Heven loses a lot of support from those c...more

Charade is the second book in the Heven and Hell Series. I loved Masquerade the first book in the series. So many times the second book disappoints me. WOW, Charade didn’t disappoint me at all! It totally blew me away.

The writing flowed smoothly making the book a fast read. The author has the ability to draw you into the story and the character development is amazing. There was plenty of action and adventure with Heven and Sam’s mission to return the scroll to the catacombs in Rome. Heven and S...more

In the second book of the Heven and Hell series, Sam and Heven are faced with the aftermath of getting the scroll and are burdened by their mission to return it to Rome. Heven is getting attacked by demons after the scroll almost everyday and Sam is trying to figure out what's wrong with his brother, Logan, who just found him. A lot of new characters are intoduced, fallen angels, witches, a dragon and quite a few more demons. From the catacombs of Rome to the darkest places of Hell, this book re...more

"Knowing that there is a charade somehow going on around us - I just haven't been able to see post it."

Pretty cover alert!! I saw that Charade was published, and only then I looked at the cover of it. And I was like; OMG it's Sam. He's pretty! I need this book now! (and more fangirling stuff). So I read it and I loved it even more than I loved Masquerade. And that is one of my favorite books of the first half of 2012! If you haven't read it you...more

I am really enjoying this series! I love all the twists and turns that keep popping up. Because I really connected with Heven in the first book, even though this one was in multiple POVs like book 1, so I saw this book through her eyes. It was pretty powerful. I felt her love, her distrust, and her stress. I was also pretty paranoid while reading Charade. I felt like everyone had something to hide. I didn't fully trust a lot of people in the book.

Heven has so much going on in her life. I really...more

Charade was a really nice sequel, the characters were pretty well developed, I love the dynamic between Cole and Sam – especially now that Gemma has come around. I never liked Kimber so I was slightly annoyed by how much Heven wanted to trust her even though that was obviously not a good idea. The main characters were just flawed enough to be realistic and still likeable, I love that Sam wasn’t always Mr. Perfect, he screwed up sometimes and he was able to admit it and Heven was able to forgi...more

Wow, this is such an awesome series. There are so many twists and turns it made it hard to put down. The connection with Cole totally makes sense now, but the "powers" that Heven gets aren't that cool (Heven agrees with me) but they are what she needs which is cool. I like Gemma and would love to hear more of her story, she is kick ass. Heven finally grows up a bit and isn't as damsel in distress, which was kind of annoying but Sam is too overprotective and wants her to just run ever...more

Ok, guys, this book has a lot going on and like 80% of it is gonna grab you by the bolls and spin you so fast that you’ll forget your own name. I say this in the best sense of the expression. This is something good, even though it sounds terrible, you know, with the bolls and all. But, trust me, it's a really good thing. I love when a book surprise me this way. But, unfortunately, I’ll have to keep a lot of the things in secret, cose the fun about it is in find out for our...more

I cannot put into words how much I adore this series! I loved this book just as much as the first book in this series! After the ending of Masquerade I was eagerly anticipating Charade and it did not disappoint one bit! Again, I loved the characters, the plot and the writing! I also loved how perfect the pace was! It left me thinking ahead and I always was interested in it and I did not want to put it down until I had read the last page! I loved how much the characters had grown in this book com...more

I really enjoyed book one, Masqerade, so I've been looking forward to reading Charade, and I have to say it was even better than the first!
Right away, there's a lot of mystery surrounding the book, new characters and strange happenings galore and just as I was starting to think I wanted some answers I was hit with a huge twist that had me gasping so loud on the bus I attracted some strange looks! Masquerade really was a bumpy ride from start to finish and I was hooked all the way through.

I loved the first book in this series and couldn't wait to read the next one. Charade had me hooked as soon as I started reading it. Charade picks up where the first book left off with Heven and Sam trying to return the scroll to its rightful location. Heven has grown to be a character I really love. She has become so much stronger and comfortable in her own skin.

Sam continues to be a dream. He does so much to be better than just a hellhound and focuses on keeping Heven safe. They fit so well to...more

This is book 2 in the ‘Heven and Hell’ series. **Warning** unavoidable spoilers for book 1 ‘Masquerade’.
So charade starts off where ‘Masquerade’ left off. Heven is now a supernatural treasure. She’s guarding the treasure map (scroll) and trying to avoid demons, whilst working at the ice-cream parlor and trying to spend time with Sam. Sam is still working multiple jobs whilst trying to look after Heven and his brother Logan, and things are still stra...more

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimers: I received an electronic copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

An Overview of the Novel: Sam and Heven are in more danger than ever. Heven and Sam have been entrusted with a sacred scroll that includes everybody who will make good contributions in the world (ie: who will find the cure for cancer). Heven and Sam want to keep it safe; the demons want it so they can get kill off these people before they can successfully accom...more

This second installment of Hebert's exciting young adult series is just as fascinating to read as the first one!

She and Sam must do this at all costs, or many people will die. On the way to accomplishing this task, they must deal with constant demon attacks, as well as the mysterious behavior of Sam's younger brother,...more
