A WORLD OF MODERN MECHA AND MAGIC

Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and Mokona venture to the Hanshin Republic to find one of the missing pieces of Sakura’s memory, transformed into magically powerful feathers. There, Syaoran meets his “Kudan”: a fierce wolf-spirit whose fiery power mirrors Syaoran’s personal strength. But with foes like a pop idol who sings words of pain, Syaoran’s ...more

This volume wasn't quite as interesting as the first volume in which the main characters set out on their journey. It got a little silly with Primera's singing attacks and all of the battles and whatnot.

Also, this is the first volume that I read in English, and I'm not very impressed with a few things about it. One picky thing is poor editing--they can't decide whether to call the character I mentioned above "Primera" or "Primela." Pick one! Also, I'm not sure...more

Este #2 me ...more

Cool volume! Great action! I love all of the kudan, especially how Fai and Kurogane have complimentary kudan; a dragon and a phoenix together is an auspicious sign! I'm glad Sakura woke up by the end of this one, I was wondering what would happen if they had to drag her around like a rag doll throughout all the universes. But it was so sad how it hurt Sayoran when she didn't know him. I'm hoping that I interpreted the Witch's words correctly, even if the characters didn't see it - that Sayor...more

I can't help but compare this volume a bit with Pokemon, and it came off a bit cheesier than I'd hoped because of this. Syaoran and his three companions journey to a new world where each person has a "Kudan," or protective spirit that generally takes the form of an animal. There are a number of fight scenes in here between Kudan, and to me they definitely came off as pretty Pokemon-ish! Still, an entertaining read.

I especially liked the clarification of how all these charac...more

This wonderful volume takes place in the first world visited by Sayoran and his companions. After a frustrating search, a memory of Princess Sakura is found where it was lest expected! Fans of the anime will notice how the story is somewhat different here. The manga is much more sad, as it shows the pain that Sayoran is enduring having Sakura asking him "Who are you?" and so forth. There are some extremely beautiful panels in this volume, so pretty in fact that they made me wish I had ...more

Kudan are like Pokémon. A feather is found. Lots of Osaka jokes.

I'm giving it a 3 because I'm sort of sick of the start of the series. My husband read through this series about four or five years ago and made me watch the first disc of the anime which covers books one and two. Then when we got into xxxHolic we went back to Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle since the two are so tied together. So we've rewatched the anime twice again. And I'm really ready to move further along in the story...more

I must agree with the reviewer "Caroline" that this is a bit cheesier than expected. Not exactly in a bad way though I think. The extreme drama creates great suspense no matter how cheesy it may seem. I am unsure how this is going to get played out in the next volumes though since they have already found a few of Sakura's feathers... (how many are there!?) which might make reading this boring if some sort of plot twist does not come about.

The character development is also q...more

Now, I was a little excited that we were in the first world. However, I really looking forward to that whole dramatic beginning that happened in the first so when the characters seemed to slow down, I was a little dissapointed but as soon as Sakura's feather came into play, it had me hooked. There was a little sad scene near the end when she woke, but I still loved this book.

AMAZING COVER!!!!!

Syaoran and friends travel to Republic of Hanshin, where Mokona sensed the aura of Sakura's memory, in form of poweful feather. In this new dimension they make friends with locals and discover their own kudan, inner spiritual force.

Enjoy the characters spin off from X, Sorata and Arashi, as well as Touya and Yukito from Card Captor Sakura :)

Action packed and poignant at the end. I loved the concept of the kudans and the characters were the right balance of serious/angsty/off the wall funny. It also explores the concepts of power and strength, and where it really comes from, which are themes I always enjoy.

Also, possibly in love with Fai. Must investigate.

Recommends it for: manga lover, CLAMP fans

The second volume of Tsubasa continues in another world with the main characters Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane and Mokona starting their quest to recover Sakura's memory/power/heart/soul. In this new world there are quite a few characters some CLAMP fans may remember from X or Magic Knight Rayearth.

One of the best things about CLAMP is that they always make interesting/enjoyable characters but aren't afraid to bring the drama in extreme and simple ways (like the ending with thi...more

I'm liking the manga much more than the anime. The manga gives the fan more hints, it tells the reader much more about who the characters are, what secrets they might harbor. So far, I like Fye best. He and Kurogane and Mokona Modoki are a great trio. Shaolan and Sakura are too sugary cute - though their story is just as painful, of course. Also, it's great to see characters from various shows pop up, especially if they actually died in those shows and here they are alive and sometimes even happ...more

Yukito-san told Syaoran to find a witch that would help Sakura with getting her memories back so he sent him into another dimension. The witch would help only if Syaoran gave something he values the most in the world and that was Sakura. The witch said that even when Sakura gets her memory back, she won't remember him and he agreed to it in order to save her.
