Fairy stories, in my opinion, are some of the more difficult stories to follow. The characters are more often than not richly developed, oddly named and there are so many that it is genuinely challenging to keep track of who is who. A multi-book story arc makes it even harder to follow and I have learned from experience that unless a character is especially memorable it is in my best interest to assign a mnemonic device to the minor characters to...more

REVIEW
Epic epic epic !! What a fantastic book series I was lost in the land of Iron Fey from the very first page .. I laughed ( out loud) cried and yelled ( all to the amusement of my husband and onlookers) Very rarely can you find a writter so skilled they can bring every emotion from the pages to your soul and Julie Kagawa did this without a shadow of a doubt . I am sitting here after finishing every last...more

OK, even I have to admit--this series may be a bit cheesy, but I tell you, it's good!
OK. I've read the summary of Iron King. The first thing that comes to mind is LOVE TRIANGLE. Yup, there is one heck of a love triangle in this story. It's the usual cast of characters - the one clumsy girl that'll save the day, the cold-hearted-cool-but-so-hot-in-an-attractive-sense-prince boy, and the cute-funny-I-don't-want-him-to-get-hurt-in-that-love-polygon-gosh...more

I loved this series. I am so sick of all of the vampire and zombies series but this is not that. This is a series about a young teenage girl who finds out that her Dad is King of the other world that is interacting within our world that we don't see. He came to the human world one day and was able to enchant her mother and the ended up having a baby that was half human and half other world. One day her brother is taken and she must find him and her "best friend" then tells her the truth about wh...more
... this is one of those series that I read, but of course MY BOYS wouldn't be interested. I think Fey is ultimately aimed at a female audience. I liked the series as a whole, I maybe came into it with too high of expectations (friends raving about it) and wasn't super impressed, especially at the start. The first few chapters of the first book were a little rough (some language, situations) but I liked it much better once we left the real world.

What I love the MOST about this series it the WORLD. The beautiful detailed way the nevernever is created. & the Characters, every. single. one. has something that... pulls. A deepness I can't quite figure out.
So, 4 books, 1 series, 1504 pages, 24 days, me going crazy.
The Iron King 3*'s
The Iron Daughter 5*'s
The Iron Queen 4*'s
The Iron Knight 3*'s
Plus this beautiful edition, pretty black box. 4*'s
*Does the math*
3.8*'s!
For love will bring my own destruction. I love this so, SO much.

Really the only reason I picked up this book was because I saw the binding and I was like ooh, pretty! Then it turned out to be a pretty good book. Meghan us not my favorite though. I think she's incredibly brave and loyal to her family. And I appreciate how strong she is. She disappointed me,however. Why? Because she chose Ash. I still can't get over it. She should've just stayed in Faery with Puck where they could run around and play and have endless summer days. But no she chose Ash, when Puc...more
I'm not going to review every single book: im doing my review here. one word to describe the entire series?

Puck could always lighten the mood and make you laugh, Ash was...ahg, just perfect! Megan really grew over the 4 books, and Grimalkin is the funniest, most sarcastic cat I've ever heard of.

Loved all these books....practically inhaled them, which is crazy, because I'm not usually a fairy story kind of girl. Great twists and turns, a love triangle that actually includes a best friend who loves her enough to see her happy with the other guy (it's about time), a seriously determined heroine, and lots of cool details that wink at classic literature, Shakespeare in particular. Highly reccomended beach reads.

Superdooper good! The romance between Ash and Meghan was soo sweet! Poor Puck! Although, a couple of that bothered me:
-the excessive usage of words such as: dubious, etc (got very annoying after 4 books)
-Ash and Meghan's romance was a bit rushed. It began in "The Iron King", but after re-reading it I thought that the course of their relationship went by too fast! His love for her is noteworthy.

The best fairy series Ive read! Julie Kagawa knows how to keep you on your tipy toes. There is alot of action, romance, and friendship. The description is vividly clear and I can imagine this series becoming movies. Prince Ash is your dark and brooding love interest and Puck is what a girl imagines her best guy-friend to be. Main protag. Megan kicks butt and one of my favorite heroines.
