Think Pelican Brief, Conspiracy Theory, and Outbreak combined into one book. A once burned reported doing a snarky fluff column gets asked to cover a police officer’s death and then a judge’s death. The niece of said judge takes umbrage with his statements about her aunt. While watching her walk across the street outside his office, he sees a van try to run her down. This starts him on a journey that will take him from Coast to Coast, running from everyone from the Rogue government agents down....more

Do you like mystery? Do you like conspiracy theories? Like a little action? You might want to check out Robert B. Lowe’s Project Moses.

A trial of no consequence. A dead judge. A dead prosecutor. More dead bodies and attempts to add to the number. What does this give you? A reporter and a lawyer on the run and finding conspiracies where they never imagined them.

This story starts off fast, grabbing the reader, and never lets up. Well, there are a few slow areas where dialogue explains the complica...more

Review:Project Moses by Robert B. Lowe

Project Moses is a Mystery Thriller that is scary that some of it could happen with all the science being discovered. I did not want to put it down till I had finshed reading it. Its a good length of a book.
I have to admit crying at part of the story.
Enzo Lee writes fluff pieces for San Francisco newspaper for the last two years. His boss just assigned him to cover a prosecutor death. Enzo does not want it and I thought he was not much of an investig...more

I won this book from librarything member giveaways in exchange for an honest review.

Project Moses is a highly imaginative, fast paced thriller about a journalist named Enzo Lee who uncovers a big conspiracy that starts with the bizarre death of a judge. Along the way, he meets the lovely Sarah, who seems to be involved in ways that neither of them anticipate.

There are many great things about this book. The surprises keep on coming throughout and kept me interested in the plot. Enzo Lee is a lik...more

I felt this book had an interesting plot - national and international intrigue of the type that is a conspiracy theorist's dream. But there were some weaknesses that detracted from the reading pleasure. In my opinion, some of these weaknesses were as follows:

• I felt that the opening was weakened by overlong descriptions. After wading through several of these in the first third of the book, I felt like putting the book aside. But I found that the second half of the book seemed like a whole diffe...more

Review:

"Project Moses" by Robert B. Lowe was a very good mystery, romance and thriller read. The novel had my attention from the very beginning to the end. There were times I was laughing and even crying at some point. The story was a very believable and detailed. I found it very easy to keep up with all that was going on and it really moved fast for...more

Project Moses is one of those don’t. put. it down. I can’t stop reading stories. It’s one of the better books I’ve read all year. I’m pretty sure it’s the only one I’ve given five stars to. It’s really THAT good and I can wait to read more!

This multiple murder mystery focuses on genetic re-engineering for agricultural bio weapons. Corporate greed combined with government secrecy will change the world as we know it. It’s a gripping, non-stop action thriller with a touch of romance. Just the sort...more

I don't read mysteries but was really in the mood for a good thriller on the day that I picked PROJECT MOSES up. I am really glad that I didn't let the mention of mystery on the cover dissuade me as this book is incredible. Has to be one of the best thrillers that I have read in a long time.

Following a slow build up that gives the reader a chance to get to know Lee, there is non-stop action as Lee and Sarah stay one step ahead of a federal agent and other enforcers. To be able to survive they ar...more

I loved the introduction to this book and the direction it takes you in, from the intriguing courtroom intro to the deaths and then the investigation that follows. It instantly grabs your attention and already clogs start ticking in your mind; why is that happening? How are things connected? Where is this going to go? A great way to open a book.
I liked the use of every other chapter slotted in italics, from some mystery character's point of view, about what's going on somewhere behind the scenes...more

A very interesting fast paced read that starts out with the death of a judge and a lawyer involved in a trial that seems of little importance to anyone. As a reported digs deeper into the deaths and other attempts that occur around the case finds a conspiracy that goes much deeper and involves a company that is working in genetic engineering of farm crops. The reported goes on the hunt of what is going on and travels from San Francisco across the country in search of the truth.

The characters ar...more

I started this book, set it aside to read something with a higher priority to me and then went back to it. I'm glad I did.

Genetically engineered vegetables, government involvement, conspiracy and murders to cover everything up. Retribution at the end. What's not to like?

The protagonist, Enzo Lee, is a discredited investigative reporter, now relegated to writing fluff pieces. When the normal courts reporter is unable to cover the death of a judge, Lee is assigned the job. That same night a prose...more

I received this ebook free in exchange for a review.

The elements of this mystery-thriller could be found on the front pages of the newspaper: government conspiracy, greedy corporations, and genetic mutations that produce biological weapons all come together to provide reporter Enzo Lee with all the elements he needs for a headline making news story. Unfortunately for Lee he has a questionable reputation in the news business because of past mistakes and no proof. That is until he meets Sarah Arms...more

An action filled mystry thriller that would appeal to any type of reader.

The story is told around Enzo Lee, a reporter who gets pulled into doing a story on some mysterious deaths, and with the help of Sarah Armstrong, the niece of one of the murder victims, uncovers a more sinister finding involving bioterrorism.

Lowe weaves a spectacular story with his background in law and his knowledge of news reporting. His characters are highly imaginative, believable, and enjoyable. There is constant act...more

A great mystery/thriller.

Originally from New York, Enzo Lee traveled to San Francisco to revive his journalist career. Now with the San Francisco Times, he is the undisputed King of Fluff. Ordered by his editor to cover the police beat while the regular reporter is out covering a brush fire, Enzo would rather stay with his own feature stories. Suddenly Enzo goes from a fluff feature reporter back into the world of investigative reporting when he looks into the deaths of a judge and a prosecutin...more

On September 8, 2012, I sat down and opened Project Moses. Talk about a fast pace action thriller that will keep you guessing. Robert’s style of writing is unique; he has talent of hooking you in and never letting you go.

From the moment I opened Project Moses, I knew without a doubt that this was the story for me. I love reading thrillers, Project Moses quickly landed on my top five favorite thrillers, and I can’t wait for book two!

The characters were relatable, the flow and storyline had me l...more

Enzo Lee, a Former investigative reporter who currently writes fluff pieces, is drawn back into darker stories. Two,seemingly random deaths suddenly seem connected and then events begin to spiral. AgriGenics is developing crop diseases to use as terrorism tools. And to eventually be the only source of seed which is resistant their engineered diseases...a scary thought. The ending left a few loose ends and was quite dark, but I did like the final chapter. Overall, this was a good thriller, which...more

It was a nice thriller, but not really anything new in it. The main actors are designed nicely and Enzo is cool!
I wasn't really taken by the sexual interactions, the way they are written turned me off more than anything - not erotic at all.
It also took me rather long to place the time in which the story takes place, in the beginning I was wondering a lot why they always use payphones.
I also thought that the story drags somewhat through the first 100 or so pages, it gets a lot more interesting th...more

This is a good ol' fashioned mystery that has it all - a great main character, a wonderful setting, a gripping story line, food, sex and adventure. I adored the places Lowe takes us with his story - his descriptions of San Francisco, New York & Arizona make you feel as if you are traveling alongside the characters. It is very apparent that the author uses his background in law and reporting to create a mystery that is well thought-out and complex enough to keep us guessing throughout. I woul...more

Enzo is a cute character that I liked from the beginning. The story is engaging that keeps the pages turning. All the characters worked well together. The Bob does a great job with the descriptions of San Francisco and China Town. I have never been there, but flet like I was there. I got a feel for the city.

What I loved about the book it made me feel like I was back reading a real mystery before all the fluff ( which I like those too ). I was impressed with the authors work and look forward to...more

Enzo Lee is a journalist recently re-located to San Francisco after some extreme backlash from a feature written at his previous job in New York. He is content to write feature stories with no personal investigation or involvement. He is inadvertently given an assignment that propels him head first into a conspiracy involving the murder of a judge; a prosecutor and the attempted murder of Sarah the judges’ niece. He finds himself caught up in a cat and mouse game hurtling out of control.

We are introduced Enzo Lee, a reporter who happens to take on the story of the mysterious death of a judge. Through his investigations he meets the judges niece, Sarah Armstrong. Together they investigate her aunts death and get much more than they bargain for in the process. This book was very well written, the plot believable and enticing. I read a lot of these type of books, and this novel is right up there with the best of them. Highly recommended for fans of Robin Cook and Robert Ludlum....more

If you like thrillers and conspiracy stories, then you will probably enjoy this book. The plot was so compelling that I had to finish the story, despite the fact that I found the characterization a bit weak and the long, detailed descriptions distracting. A decent read -- once you start, you won't be able to stop (even if you want to).

***Note: Also, be forewarned that this is definitely an adult book. (I.e. there are no "and the lights dim" bits when it comes to sex scenes.)

This book had a little bit of everything I enjoy; mystery, suspense, romance, and action. My favorite thing about the book had to have been the mix of mystery, suspense, and action. I wasn't completely sold on the romance between Enzo and Sarah, it felt forced and underdeveloped. I was hooked on this book and couldn't put it down for most of it. I didn't care much for the ending, it didn't feel like enough resolution to me. Overall it was a good book and I would recommend it to others.

When a Judge is found dead in her office, a reporter for a local paper and the niece of the judge find themselves teaming up to find out what caused her death and that of several others that at first seemed unconnected. Clues point to an agricultural/genetics company that was being investigated by one of the persons killed and soon they are themselves on the run from trumped up charges. Big business, illegal sales of biologicals to foreign buyers and a government cover up keep things hopping in...more

It was an ok read, it wasn't too technical with all the genetics thrown in. It did leave some loose ends, but nothing that detracted from the story or main characters. The pacing at times felt slow and did't really have me sitting on the edge of my seat. The characters interacted well with one another, but I never really cared much about what happened to them. I'm not sure I would grab another book by this author and definitly wouldn't recommend this one. That's kinda hard for me to say, I gene...more

This is a fast, fun read. I really liked the characters. It's set in S.F. and the main character is Enzo Lee, a journalist, who is tired of the hard stuff and happy to write fluffy features (his headlines are hilarious), then he gets embroiled in a murder mystery and with a cute, smart gal. I hear that author Robert Lowe is working on the next Enzo Lee thriller. Hope he's a fast writer. Perfect book for an airplane ride.

This novel is well-written and has some imaginative elements to it. The characters are not, to me, all that interesting, nor are they developed very much, except for the protagonist. As a "mystery thriller", it left me wanting more of a story and more twists and turns. The locations, other than the Bay Area, could have been better elaborated. It's good, but had the potential to be much more than good.

I liked reading this book. It has good pace and the characters are believable. But the only sore part was that the ending was abrupt. I was expecting some elaborate comeback or plot but it was quick and clean. The plot is a very traditional one and nothing creative about it. I am giving 3 stars for the pace and the characters.
J. Ewbank
I liked this book by Lowe. The characters are believable, the plot is extraordinary and the movement of the story is well cone. Mystery readers shold like this one, I know that I did.

My first two novels - Project Moses and Divine Fury - are mystery thrillers set mainly in San Francisco. They feature a somewhat jaded journalist reestablishing his career by writing light feature stories.

Invariably, Enzo Lee is distracted from this comfortable niche by criminals and conspiracies that take all of his investigative talents to expose.

I'm a life-long fan of mystery novels from the H...more
