WOW loved this! Another favourite to add to the long growing list. This year has been one of the best book-wise. I loved Levi and Allies banter and how she played hard to get and always had something to say and they challenged each other. It's like Levi didn't know how to handle her because no one had ever not melted into a puddle at his feet and done everything he asked and Allie and him were perfect together because she wouldn't let him intimidate her.
Man he was gorgeous! I also loved Hailey,...more

It was a pretty good read. The idea of the Pterons was new.Allie was also a very interesting character. She was capable of resisting Levi's charms.(view spoiler)[But not for long.It pissed me off that she fell for him so fast. (hide spoiler)]About Levi..in the beginning I kind of liked him.He is so hot.*sigh*.But what he did in the end was really outrageous.I just wanted to slap him on the face for it.SERIOUSLY.I cannot say anything else without giving the plot away.Anyway I am curious to know wha...more

I did a cover reveal for Flight and when I read the blurb I knew I had to read it. Lord was I not disappointed! Flight takes place in New Orleans and if any of you know New Orleans is beautiful. Hurricane Katrina tore it apart but the folks put it back together and most of the historic district was saved. While reading flight I kept picturing certain places in my mind and I am so glad I had those extra visuals because this book had me hooked from the very beginning.

Allie has sworn off all guys...more

I loved Allie's attitude even though she like attracted to Levi she fights knowing when she was lied and betrayed too..though levi is hot n yummy...i was sad to see he lied to allie like that..and i think anyone would have reacted like Allie..i was seriously pissed and angry but oh well i also want to see how he woos her back and makes her to his side!It was definitely a fun read!
I just hope everything goes good in next book :)

Reading it with Alisa! :) yay!!! Had a huge head start for this cause she's a pretty fast robot. :O So I put off my other CR for this one! :) I hope this one is good! I don't really read the blurbs anymore. Um, yeah, cover snob. :o

4.5 stars.

Flight is an easy to read book. Just like the title, the flight is relatively easy, good and fast. I totally enjoyed it. I actually thought it'll be about werewolves since it was shelved in that category but NO, it was NOT about WEREWOLVES perse. It is about...more

Maybe I missed a memo somewhere. Are all paranormal romance books 15% paranormal and 85% romance? It sure seems like it after the last few I’ve read, and I can’t say I like the trend. Flight is no different. While there are paranormal elements sprinkled in and some of the main characters are paranormal in nature, the feel of the book is almost entirely that of a YA/New Adult romance. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m perfectly fine with reading romance books, though I prefer to know how heavily those...more

This book starts off as what you would think is a normal YA romance.
Only half way through the book do you find out that Levi is more than what he appears to be.
Even once his true identity has been revealed that are more secrets that await.
Allie is going to be working at her dad's hotel with her friend Jess before college starts. She wanted to have a break before college and i had sworn off me (she attracted the wrong type) but after meeting Levi, no matter how much she wants to stick to her wo...more

She has sworn off boys but that may change when she meets Levi. He tries everything he can to get her to go out, but she keeps resisting. When her friend decides to go home early she begins to hang out more with him and soon has feelings for him. Levi shows her a whole new world when he reveals he is a Pteron. Now s...more

Flight was a book with a lot of potential, but unfortunately it was poorly executed. I am an native New Orleanian, Louisiana born and raised, so I was expecting a lot from the author as far as descriptive details go. I was only mildly appeased and was disappointed at the lack of justice the author does for this great city. She failed to capture the heart and soul of New Orleans in Flight and that was a major problem. At the end of the book, one of the reasons Levi and his mother use to keep Alli...more

I would adore spending a summer in New Orleans. That's one of the biggest things that attracted me to this story. Alyssa Rose Ivy has a way of making the city so colorful and I enjoyed every minute of exploring the city.

As far as characters go, I did like Allie. She seemed goal oriented and responsible for her young age. However, at times I didn't feel like her character always added up because of the way she acted. I understood that she didn't have a lot of parental involvement, but one moment...more

Flight is fantastic, fun, and far more mysterious than expected! Alyssa Rose Ivy creates the perfect blend of fantasy and paranormal romance as the story follows college-bound Allie as she discovers a beautiful love, New Orleans, and a hidden world straight out of a fairy tale.

The story is an incredibly quick read once readers become hooked on Allie and her insatiable love interest, Levi. Allie is a quick character to fall for, even though she is sometimes stubborn and thoroughly independent. Th...more

So I have only read one other of Alyssa' books *Derailed* which is a contemp book. We should all know by now that while those are not really "my thang" I do enjoy them every now and then. I took an instant liking to Allie, but I had a hard time imagining her as an 18-year-old the summer before college - she seemed older. (I have an 18yo senior in high school right now and can't imagine being comfortable with her in a new city with as much freedom as her parents gave her. . . - but then that's just me) But anyway, she ends up in New Orleans, living in a suite at her dad's hotel with her girlfriend Jess, sharing a cushy job with her where it appears she can set her own hours. Flight was thrilling, unpredictable, radiating with tension of all kinds, and that includes a romance that I cannot wait to read more about in the next book. I really enjoyed reading this story from Allie's POV; you really understand her background, why she moved to New Orleans for the summer, before her first year at Princeton. You also get a sense of her feisty like personality, and it definitely draws a hot college senior, Levi. He, was...extremely WELL Written!! I really like him, and he's d...more

The moment that I saw the book cover for Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy, I knew I had to read this book. Within the first page I was completely pulled into the story and I could not put it down until I reached the end.

Because of the title, Flight, I immediately thought that the book was going to be about angels and I was happily surprised to find out that Alyssa Rose Ivy had come up with a new and interesting paranormal creature that is all her own.

In Flight you follow Allie as she heads down to New...more

Allie thinks she is embarking on an adventure by going to New Orleans the summer before she starts college to work in her father's hotel. But when she meets the fun and sexy Levi, she has no idea just how much adventure she is getting into.

By getting involved with Levi, she also learns about the secret he hides. Allie never expected to spend her summer like this.

Allie is the type of girl who everyone sees as having it all "together". In reality, Allie is just trying to make it through a life that seems to have been planned for her and she needs to stop getting involved with the WRONG guy!

Levi is the epitomy of the WRONG guy! She has an undeniable attraction to him and "chance" meetings keep bringing them together.

First of all, I want to throw this out there. Levi is a JERK! OMG I don't know how you can like someon...more

This was an interesting story. Allie is off to New Orleans to spend the summer working in her father's hotel before heading off to Princeton in the fall. When she gets there, she meets Levi who infuriates her, confuses her and attracts her all at the same time. But he's more than what she thinks and now that he's set his sights on her, Allie gets introduced to a world she knew nothing about.

Allie is hard girl to warm up to, as a reader, but there's a reason she's the way she is. She's v...more

I have only myself to blame. What was I thinking picking this up when I’d read two of this author’s contemporaries and was anything but impressed? Truth be told I came away from those thinking there was nothing new to them, rather pedestrian romances with little to offer. I could say the same for this one too… Though pedestrian paranormal romance is a mouthful, isn’t it?

So humdrum, why? It’s hots at first sight for the both of them, only to shift to deny deny deny on her part. Give way to chase...more

I don't really know what to say about this book, i'm still very much middle of the road over it. Allie goes to spend the summer before she starts Princeton with her estranged father working in his new hotel. That right there was confusing, as her father barely features in the book and spends most of the time travelling as his rather under-developed job requires. Allie is a no nonsense character who wants to stick to the nice lines that she has made in her life, and seems to spend most of the tim...more

Sometimes you have to take flight in life to explore the options you never knew you had. Allie would never think that let alone do. Her life is planned out to a tee but she is rather unaware of the fact. So Allie takes a leap before her life starts revolving around Princeton. The leap is a plane ride from New York to New Orleans for the whole summer.

Flight begins with Allie and her bestfriend, Jess on their way to New Orleans. As much as Jess can't get enough of guys, it definitely hasn't rubbed...more

I have to thank Mrs. Alyssa for giving me the opportunity to read her book.
''Flight'' is one of the best books I have ever read and I'm not sure I can survive until ''Focus'' is published. This book left me without words. I don't even know from where I should start my review, but I'll try.

This summer, Allie and her friend Jess , are going to work at her dad's hotel in New Orleans.
After a failed relationship , a summer without stress and boys is exactly what Allie needs. But she doesn't know tha...more

The book is part of a tour too. It sounded interesting and the cover is so sexy, that I knew from the start that I had to read it. And, boy, how much I enjoyed it!!

The whole story takes place in New Orleans. I searched the city online, since I was going to spend the entire book in it, and Oh My God!! The city looks amazing, so beautiful and different. I mean French-Creole architecture and birthplace of jazz, there is nothing else I need. Luckily, the author transfers you in it. T...more

{my thoughts} - This book is about a girl named Allison {allie}, she goes to New Orleans to work for her father at a hotel he recently bought. While working there she becomes friends with Owen, Hailey, Levi and Jarred. She eventually learns that they are not normal by any means of the actual definition. At first she's scared but then she starts to look at it from the curiosity angle. That's when things in her life change far more then anyone person can imagine.

I enjoyed how the book had started...more
