I’ve found this book very lovely. Reading the first part, the explanation of The Book of Good and Evil for me was like a fantasy version of the bible. And I couldn’t see the connection between Iona and the rest of the story. Iona’s story was one thing, and the story for Maycly was something very different, I couldn’t connect the two stories. This part has the first battle in it, and what a battle it is! It takes place on Maycly, but it's the first time anything like that has happened on the planet. It's unlike any other battle I've ever encountered in a fantasy book. If I had to compare it to another one, it'd be close to the one in LORD OF THE RINGS. I really liked the bizarre creatures and the surprising events. If you read Part 1, you'll HAVE to read Part 2. It's a GREAT adventure. And get ready for Part 3, the conclusion.
