I think I will probably give all of HKW's books 4 or 5 stars, so my reviews of her books might be a bit tainted. The reason for this is her writing is so tailored to what I like. When I get a sandwich from Subway, I get the spicy italian with pepperjack cheese, lettuce, pepperoncinis, and spicy southwest sauce. Let's just say Heather makes exactly the type of sandwich I like. Down to how much of each topping I want. Without me having to say "Just a little more pepperoncinis and not so much lettu...more
I liked it better than the first two books in the series. I found Azrael's "step-back and get to know you" approach to Sophie a lot more refreshing/likable than his brothers "knock 'em over the head and drag 'em back to the cave" approach to meeting their archesses. Sexy vampires can do no wrong in my book. There was so aspects that I did not like. His whole reading her mind without her permission or the fact that she didn't even know he could read minds. It felt like a violation of her privacy....more
It's so horribly sad when I pondered this review, because I realized that I've come to expect impeccable vocabulary, impressive metaphors, and an exceptional flexing of the imagination to unknown territory when it comes to Heather Killough-Walden's work.
She is so impressive that the vast scope of her work a reader who reads many of her books can become blasé about. And I'm utterly appalled that a book so incredible I can think, this is normal.

I love that Azrael, FINALLY got his Archess. I am a sucker for a suffering soul I guess. I think the way this story was, is a little more set apart from the other two. There is more twists in this one along with much more information to help us see what is coming for the conclusion. I am waiting to see what will the Adarians will do in the end and who will stand up with who. In this particular book, it builds us up for the next installment that is for sure. A really nice cliffhanger is at the en...more

The third installment of the Lost Angels series brings us the story of Azrael. Of the four archangels, Azrael underwent the most drastic change when they came to earth two millennia ago in search of their archesses. Up until this point, Azrael has been a powerful but unknown character. We really get to see who he is in this installment.

Heather did it again. I absolutely loved Death’s Angel. I was so happy to finally read about Azrael finding his Archess. And Sophie Bryce was his perfect match.
I have to admit, at first I thought Sophie was going to be too timid, especially with what she’s been through, but in the end, she was tough as nails. Exactly what Az needed.
Both Az and Sophie have been scarred emotionally but together they were able to accomplish so much. As usual and even more in this story, their love scenes were sens...more

4.5*s
At the wedding of Gabriel and Juliette (Messenger's Angel), the archangel Azrael and maid of honor Sophie Bryce see each other for the first time. The attraction is instant, and it's overwhelming for Azrael--he is certain that she is his archess, or the mate who was created for him by the Old Man.
Sophie is also overwhelmed, but for a different reason. She has always been "into" the masked lead singer of the most popular rock band in the world, Valley of Shadow. And now she finds out that he...more

I really liked Death’s Angel. I give it 4.5 stars instead of 5 only because of all the Lost Angels books; this one wasn’t quite as captivating as the rest to me. I fell for Azrael during the first two books in the series. So I was excited when I learned that he would finally get his own story in book 3. Death’s Angel did not disappoint. Who knew that not only was he a charismatic vampire but a softy too. While reading I felt like I was in his head, experiencing his conflicting emotions. Fighting...more

Azrael met his Archess Sophie Bryce at the end of Messenger's Angel and apart from the complications of being a vampire and only being able to be awake during the night, Azrael needs to slowly approach the Archess subject with Sophie and convince her that she is one and that she was made for him.

What it's about: Death's Angel is the third book in Heather's Lost Angels series. The premise for the series is that the four archangels longed for love, so four female archangels, or Archesses, were created for them, but they were scattered to Earth before they could be claimed. Death's Angel is about Azrael, the angel of death, and his search for The One. Sophie is attending her best friend's wedding when she gets blown away by some news … Juliette (best friend) is one of the Archesses. Then s...more
I wanted to like this book. I really did. I really enjoyed the other books in this series and there were parts and aspects of this book that I enjoyed. I found Sophie's backstory interesting, I was excited about the introduction of new villains, and I'm always up for some steamy vampire scenes, but sadly, that's about it. I was really excited about Azreal's story, but for the most part, I was left wanting. The pace of the book was pretty slow, especially at the beginning. This is the third book...more
3.5 stars is really what I would give it.
Of all the Archangels, this is the one I looked forward to the most. Azrael, the angel of death, a sexy as hell vampire. I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love Heathers writing, but in Deaths Angel, I feel like she concentrated too much on inner thoughts and feelings, not enough on the actual characters interacting with each other. There were several chapters that lost my interest and I forced myself to continue reading. I'm glad I did because at...more

È comunque, a me, Azrael, l'ex angelo della morte piac...more
I've made a habit of reading books primarily part of series, trying but not always, start from the beginning. This book is the third in this particular series. I was hoping for another Firestarter. The kind of story that grabs me and makes me read the whole series. But not this time.
The story's plot wasn't the problem. The writing was too crammed with excessive junk. More of an effort was put in describing scenes, places, and characters, than actually telling the story. I had a hard time trying...more

Oh! What a book. Each of the lost angels books have been great. But this one! This is Azrael's story. So it's darker. Sexier. It's a huge story. With his burgeoning love, comes darkness. Because Az is darkness. His Archess also lived in darkness at the beginning of this life. Sophie is strong and loving in spite of her very hard beginnings. They are both so strong. With such a family to back them in the couple find each other as the turmoil on earth heats up. More monsters to fight. More of ever...more
Death’s Angel is book three in Heather-Killough-Walden’s Lost Angel series.
Book three focuses on Azrael the Angel of Death and his Archess, Sophie. The book picks up from the end of book two. This book has so many unexpected events in it. It was nonstop action and suspense. There was so much going on, so many new elements introduced I felt like I was experiencing a Paranormal Apocalypse! I was thankful that there were four wonderful angels and the mates of the archangels to attempt to battle the...more

Well I devoured this book in a day literally, I knew I would as I have been anticipating its release for a while now. Azrael is a tortured soul and he has suffered the most with his transformation from the Angel of Death to being a Vampire. It is finally his turn and his Archess turns out to Sophie, Juliette's best friend. While I do agree with some reviews that this book had less action in it than the others, I did enjoy the slow build up to their relationship and feel that the author stayed tr...more
I love Death! OK, so not what I meant to say. ;) What I meant is that Death's Angel has to be my favorite of Killough-Walden's Archangel series. Whether that is due to this one being about a bad boy vampire or because after three books this series is finally hitting its stride, I don't know. What I do know is that Azrael is the ultimate alpha bad boy hero. But then again, I digress.

I never thought that I would say this, but the farther I get into this series, the more trouble I’m having deciding what series of Heather Killough-Walden’s I like the most. It’s hard to believe that there would be any competition for the Big Bad Wolves, but the Archangels in the Lost Angels series are coming close. (Just don’t tell Malcom Cole.)

Death's Angel is the third in HKW's Lost Angels series. The series tells the stories of the 4 favored archangels as they begin to find the archesses that had been promised to them thousands of years ago. Each couple goes through their own troubles and tribulations as they find their own way to true love with their soul mates. Death's Angel is Azrael's and Sophie's story. The beginning of the book is a build-up to the ending which had me riveted to my seat. For some, the beginning can seem a bit...more
Let's get to the important information first. There be DRAGONS in this book. Yeah, you read that right. And they can transform into men. Men who wear sparkly leather jackets. Pardon me while I wipe up the drool. Oh, and there's something about an archangel meeting his archess in this book as well. (But DRAGONS.)

The THIRD (technically, fourth) book in The Lost Angels Series left me wanting more! I need to know what happens in the next book!! Talk about a cliffhanger! I was waiting for Azrael's story the most, because as the former Angel of Death, he was changed like no other angel. He became the world's first vampire. Who doesn't love a good vampire story? His Archess, Sophie, and her life story left me heartbroken. As a child I was in foster homes, and could relate to the feeling of loneliness. I am BE...more
I don't know about you, but when I want dark and delicious characters that knock me off my feet, I go to Heather Killough Walden!
I have been waiting for months to read this book and let me say: WOW! Words fail me but I will try. I absolutely love Death's Angel. The characters are so strong and potent. Especially Azreal, who is the former Angel of Death. And Sophie, whose heart is big enough to shoulder the world.

I would give this 3.5 stars. I believe my anticipation for the book made the book very anticlimactic. There were parts that were terrific, but for the most part, I felt that it dragged on. There were portions I felt could have been taken out and you would have received the same understanding of what was going on. Again, I think it I didn't expect something breathtaking, the book would have done more for me.
