But keep on you will, and it quickly and satisfyingly becomes a modern day love story, which focuses on a young woman finding out who - and what - she really is.

Just like a person granted the gifts of the various senses for the first time in their life, the flowers in the local park suddenly look brighter, the rain smells and

Lawrence Block is one of America's great crime novelists. He writes in every facet of the genre--the gritty noir of the Matt Scudder series, the cozy Bernie Rhodenbarr mysteries, the black humor Hit Man series, the breezy undercover adventures of Evan Tanner, and the sex-crazed Nero Wolfe pastiches of Chip Harrison.

It's no secret that Lawrence Block supported himself for the first fifteen years of his career writing "sleazy" sex novels under a pseudonyms. In retrospect, many were surprisingly de

A pseudonym used by Lawrence Block.

Block writes: "Jill Emerson’s seven-book body of work ranges from sensitive lesbian fiction (Enough of Sorrow) and candid erotica (Threesome) to mainstream contemporary fiction (A Week as Andrea Benstock). Both [Jill and Lawrence Block] are deeply grateful to the heroine of Getting Off for providing them with the opportunity to work together one more time.
