I am rounding up to four for one reason - the character of Mona. I love how Healy handles her. The story is a bit predictable (especially if you have seen a certain sci-fi show), but it is well written. The characters are actually developed and the story edited. It's pretty good.

This is a fun little story about first contact --- much too short! It's a great set-up for a novel, so I'm hoping for a follow-up. This is only the second piece I've read by this author, and I'll definitely be picking up some of his other work; his style is a bit quirky and irreverent...very entertaining. Recommended for anyone who doesn't take the world too seriously!

This is the second short story I have read from Ian Thomas Healy, who, up until then, I had never heard of. From what I have read from him thus far, this is an author to keep an eye on.

This particular short was no less fantastic as the first one I had read ( The Mighty Peculiar Incident at Muddy Creek)
In a short amount of space, the characters were extremely well developed, the atmosphere set, and the reader is drawn into the story like a rocket. Hope, desolation, human kindness, action, intrigu

This is a fun little redo of an ancient tale reset in the future. I however enjoyed the preview of hope and funded Elvis at the end if the story more than the story.

While way too short, this tale of asteroid mining and Christmas hits on all warp cores. Well-written and just a darn good sci-fi story.

Heartwarming and realistic sci fi short story, if that's not an oxymoron, and it's firing on all thrusters. Four and a half stars.
