I absolutely adored the characters in this book. I adored Luke. His character was strong and sexy, but sensitive and tenderhearted. His buddy Nick, the matchmaker as I’ve dubbed him, is a sweetheart and he really lent a wonderful aspect to the story. But, my favorite character was Anthony. I loved the way he was so good to Luke being his friend first and foremost, knowing that Luke has been through an...more

This novella starts out so sad. I was immediately feeling for Luke, who had the love of his life in Sean, his love since high school, his only love ever. They had just celebrated their ten year anniversary when tragedy struck. It is now two years later and Luke’s pain has dulled but hasn’t disappeared. This story is so lovely, it is about to accept love the second time around even when your heart is still broken, and embrace that you are giving a second chance to fall in love.
Just perfect.

From the blurb I was expecting 'more' somehow, but it was a nice, easy angst free read.
I was missing the progression from friendship to love, even if it took months, it still seemed the feelings were sudden to me.
It might have helped to see things from Anthony's POV a bit earlier.
(view spoiler)[ and just a pet peeve of mine: where was the condom???? Ok, Luke is clean we all assume, but Anthony ? Use a condom!!!!<\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

This was a nice, easy and fast read. I had a bit of a problem with the writing style - especially at the beginning and in the end - but I liked that the whole story took place during several months, so the progress of their relationship was believable.

Reads like a Harlequin; boy meets boy, falls in love, lives HEA. Cute, and the writing's OK, but don't expect anything particularly deep.
