Whew!!! What am emotionally trying journey for this couple. Daniel and Melanie have suffered through major pain, loss & suffocating hurt. What started out as a promising future led to undeniable despair. Contentment may have been earned in the end, but at a great cost.

The ending was sweet, but I was deeply troubled by it as well. It's not my ideal situation by a long shot. No ma'am, but it's a strong HEA, just not a platinum one for me.

Wow. I think my heart can finally beat on its own again. What an emotionally intense and addictive story....and I loved every minute of it! THIS is what I look for in a romance book and yet it's so hard for me to find.

Nine years earlier, Melanie relocated to a new town with her father. She met Erin who introduced her to her brother, Daniel. They started dating immediately. They were inseparable and fell madly and wholly in love. Their love instantly cap...more

“Erin called us soul mates, but I…I’ve always known it was more than that. It’s like we share the same soul, and when we’re apart, each half is looking for the other.”

What an emotionally intense rollercoaster of a book!

I read the whole book with my heart in my throat, either holding my breath, choked up, or in tears. My heart was literally pounding for most of the story.

Melanie and Daniel met when they were 15-16 years old and fell in almost instant true, undeniable, unstoppable lov...more

DANIEL AND MELANIE

"When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears. When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears and I held your hand through all of these years. But you still have all of me."(My Immortal, by Evanescence)

The words above describe perfectly the story of Daniel and Melaine. The love they had for each other was so pure and wonderful. This book was beautifully written and with such passion. You will go thru so many emotions reading this book: joy, heartbreaking sorrow, anger/...more

This was a nice read and I did enjoy it.

It was really sweet and the relationship between Melanie and Daniel is really special with the soul mate aspect being dealt with beautifully.

I certainly cried in this book and it did pull at my heartstrings.

GR Friends, there are 2 editions of the same book. Same author, just under 2 different names. This is a repost. I initially posted it under the first edition FYI:

What can I say about the novel Pulled by A.L. Jackson. It was hands down one of the best books of the year I have read. I cried, I laughed. I fell in love with the characters and their relationships with one another. Every page I could feel the soul mate connection between the two; touched my heart. This has to be one of the strongest relationship I have ever read with two characters. I felt the love between Daniel and Melanie, it was so heart fi...more

For me this book was a train wreck. First a few nice things to offer potential readers. Skip Pulled and go for Take This Regret. The cover is very lovely.
Now the bad.

The gushy phrasing over and over again

Like soul mate, part of the same soul, Feel her/him the connection, feel them near, knew they were in trouble close etc.
I'm all for a soul connection I am a huge fan of soulmates but please don't rub my face in it. Show me why they are such don't just keep telling me.

3.5 Stars. Why? Because throwing shirts on floors does not count as a sex scene. I did enjoy it, but it was very angsty and it was seriously laking in sex anticipation, which is good since there wasn't ANY. I can't believe I read a CLEAN book and enjoyed it, but I did. This writer reminded me a lot of Lisa Marie Rice, very heavy on the emotional. But take heed there was NO alpha male. It was hard to put down and satisfying.

Oh man! As much as I wanted to rate this lower I just cant. The more I thought about this book and what happened the more I loved it. Some decisions made by Melanie really made me question if I really liked this book. I finally had to step back and some advice from a friend I soon realized that she was a victim.
Melanie meets a boy who becomes her everything. No one really understands the extent of his power over her but Melanie and Daniel cant deny what they have.

I was expecting more out of this book than what I got. It was a good book, not a great book. That saddens me. I was looking forward to more emotion than what I received from reading this. The plot was there; the characters were there. What wasn't there was the delivery.

Although well written, it could have been better. Many books like this that go back and forth from past to present achieve their goal. This format didn't in this case. I think this story would have hit better if it had been told f...more

What an amazing novel! I have been finding some great romance books lately, and this is indeed one of them. I was completely drawn into the story between Daniel and Melanie. This story has all the elements that make a love story great. Suspense, fear, anger, hopelessness, and ultimate joy.

Portions of this story resonated with my own life story. I fully understand how it feels to be married to a control freak--I was for nearly 10 years. And the author hit the nail on the head in her description o...more

Make sure you have plenty of boxes of tissues available when you read this book. Pulled is a very emotional, heart wrenching read. It is a story about mistakes, heart break, soul mates, healing, forgiveness, and true love. You are drawn in from the first few chapters. Melanie is a trophy wife who is emotionally abused by her successful husband. From the start you know she misses the love of her life, Daniel, and that a...more

Wow I actually finished it at midnight last night so I read it in one day ;) couldn't put it down i wanted to keep going and i didnt care if i was up all night, and it was so worth it.

This book was heartbreaking from the shell that Melanie has become and the loveless possesive marriage she is in, to the love lost she cannot forget. Wow is an understatment for this book, it had me sitting at the edge of my seat, i wanted more, even if it did have me in tears a few times it was worth every tear. Th...more

Once again Amy wows me with her addicting story and writing. I swear I don't know how she does it!! She's one of a few that can instill a million emotions at one time. Fucking brilliant she is!!!!! Gaaaaah, this book was hard to read at times-so gutwrenching and unforgettable!! I love her men she creates, they are so noble and heroic. I can't even chose which book I love more, Take this Regret or Pulled....they are both utterly captivating and spectacular . Full review to come!

I really enjoyed this book for the most part. The love story is compelling and I loved the idea of a magnetic pull between two people. No matter what happened, Daniel and Melanie always find their way back to each other, proving that their love is fated.

The story opens with a bang, giving us a glimpse into two destroyed lives. After teenage Daniel and Melanie lose their premature daughter their relationship falls apart following a series of extreme circumstances that seemingly severs their conne...more

What an emotional roller coaster of a book. I honestly haven't spent so much time crying and smiling while reading in a long time. I loved it! I love when a book can make you actually feel the emotions, not just register them in your mind, but ACTUALLY feel them too. I cried often when the scenes were heart wrenching, my heart swelled with pride and love during the most cherished moments the characters spend together and I felt hatred towards one character - I truly wanted him to just go away so...more

Let me preface by saying, I am NOT a contemporary romance reader. That said, Jackson drew me in in spite of myself. By the end of this novel I was screaming at my Kindle, these characters had me so engrossed. Excellent pick!

This book was written by a childhood friend of mine. I am so proud of her for following her dreams and writing it. I loved this book from the start. It kept my interest and i found it hard to put down. I smiled and cried along with the characters!

This is officially my favorite book so far! The love that Melanie and Daniel share is so intense it will steal your breathe. The tragedy that set in motion the series of events that tore them apart broke my heart. I kept having to put my nook down and walk away to clear my emotions so I could read some more. From the beginning Nicholas gave me the creeps and it killed me when Melanie put herself in that situation. Thankfully Daniel and Melanie were brought back together. It was a long road for t...more

LOVED LOVED LOVED! This emotionally charged love story of Melanie and Daniel had me from the first chapter. A.L. Jackson's writing is strong from the beginning to the very end. She leaves her readers with a feeling of contentment and hope that maybe we really can have our fairytale. A must read!

This book was absolutely wonderful. I read it in a day because I just could not put it down. This was such a beautiful love story with real characters everyone can relate to at some time in their life and the emotions are so real that I was feeling them as I read the characters feeling them. So overwhelming and the plot was wonderful, I didn't know if was all gonna end up the way I wanted it to and it didn't . . . it was better. I recommend this book to everyone!

Can you say tear jerker??? Oh, how my heart broke while reading this story. The book goes back and forth between past and present which allows us to get a thorough understanding of all of the different emotions involved in the storyline and the characters. We learn in the very beginning that Melanie, our heroine, is in a loveless marriage to Nicholas, but feels as though this is what she deserves. We also learn that she longs for Daniel whom she loved when she was just a teenager.

So I'm nearly finished but I needed to start getting some stuff down before I forget because as soon as I'm finished this book will be gone from my memory as I don't want it taking up any space.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I bought it due to the many good reviews I've read about the author and the book, but I keep having to remind myself a review is someone's personal view of something and it will not always be the same way you view something. 3.5 stars to clarify.

This was the first book of Ms. Jackson’s that I read and have been hooked ever since. It is written in alternating first person POV between Melanie and Daniel, who at the start, are living completely different lives.

When we meet Melanie, we can instantly tell how unhappy and miserable she is in the life she settled for when everything crumbled nine years ago. Married to a man she has grown to hate and a prisoner in...more

I read the authors other book When We Collide and really enjoyed it so sought out her other books.
I'm more than half way through and I can't stand it. There are so many similarities in the characters we might as well call them by the same name. Once again our protagonist is a selfless, beautiful, caring thinks of everyone else before herself blah blah blah. This in itself made my eyes roll to the back of my head.
I believe in love at first sight and love romantic notions like that, but they met when she was...more

The book was amazing I've also read Take This Regret and I thought It was amazing, didn't think anything could top it until this book. Melanie and Daniel seemed like they had a strong connection, and it was beautiful. I fell in love with they're relationship. It felt so real the way that A.L. Jackson described they're relationship. Sadly the book shows that sometimes things don't turn out the way you had hoped for. I was heartbroken when they weren't together anymore. I didn't expect it so I was...more

Amy Lichtenhan first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.

Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends, and with their encouragement, this story became her first...more
