I loved it! The characters were realistic and although it moved a little fast and not enough background was given due to its short length I look forward to the next book in the series.

Not what I was expecting - but awesome just the same! I love the way that Elle Casey writes and this book, My Vampire Summer, is no different. The only problem ...... it ends! lol. I cannot wait for more of the series to come out! It all starts with two girls, best friends, graduating high school. You have Cheri and Iona, Cheri being the one that is out there! Wild child as I would like to call her - a free spirit, and Iona the one that grounds her. The sane one, the academic one - yet she still...more

Have I told you how much I love Novellas? This one is almost book length, plenty of time to develop characters and flesh out the story. Everyone, absolutely everyone should have a best friend like Cheri! She is an absolute blast of a friend and I so hope she stays in this story. Cheri is the friend that makes you go to the party after a crappy day at work. She's the one that makes you go on the blind date you don't want to and you find THE guy! She's the one that makes the trip to the math sympo...more

I was definitely intrigued by the premise (I mean, come on, who wouldn't be?), and I figured it was short, so even if I didn't like it, I didn't waste my time. But after finishing the novella, yes it was short, but it was also fun, flirty, and a great read! All the qualities you need in a summer book!

The characters are what really drew me in. The friendship between Iona (love the name) and Cheri was awesome, and so authentic. I could hear their conversations in my head sounding exactly like me a...more

This is not a bad book. Casey is known for capturing the reader's attention and easily does this in My Vampire Summer. However, I simply feel this book was not for me.

About the book: Iona is the main character, which by the way, I love her name. She goes to vacation in France with her mother the summer after her high school graduation. Her BFF Cheri also comes along and I'm not too sure how I feel about her. She has the best intentions but she is truly rough around the edges in my opinion. Her w...more
