Fate's Design was the last book that I read in 2012, and I am happy to say that I ended the year with a book that I really enjoyed. Fate's Design takes place mostly in Italy. I have always wanted to visit Italy. Throw in a very attractive guy that is so gentlemanly and some cool paranormal elements. What's not to love??

Megan is the main character along with her twin sister, Morgan. At first I kept getting the two of them confused because their names were so similar but the book is Megan's story...more

Fate's Design is a cute summer read. Who would not want to go to Italy for a vacation. Sights and all the sun and food you can get your hands on sounds like the perfect vacation to me. Then add a sprinkle or two of romance and you have one hot read! Lola James did an excellent job describing Italy and all the romance it has to offer. Then she through in for good measure a little romance that started off slow and stayed that way. There was no insta love where the girl goes on vacation and she mee...more

An author who is climbing my list of favorites, Lola James has crafted yet another series that demands I read the next installment. Here we have twins, Morgan and Megan who head off to Italy after Morgan wins a design contest sponsored by an international fashion design house.

Once in Italy, the action in this story moves quickly, from a love interest for both, to a series of odd events that have little to no logical explanation. As the story unfolds, the Fate of the two is revealed, with severa...more

Overall Thoughts:
This was a simply enjoyable read, nothing too heavy or complicated. It was such an easy read!

Fate's Design is about a young lady named Megan Romano who always seems to pale in comparison to her twin sister, Morgan. She was always labeled as "weird" because of her vision-like dreams. They have been known to predict the future or even recall things of the past. One day, Morgan wins a fashion contest that sends her and her sister packing for a much-needed vacation in Italy. There,...more

Fate’s Design was near to my heart for two reasons.

1. Much of the story is based in Italy. I lived in southern Italy for four years and loved it so much I never wanted to leave. Although the story locations are primarily in northern Italy, it was nice to revisit the country through this storyline. It was easy to visualize the author’s words and characters’ experiences because I’ve been there.

2. The main character is a twin. My father was a twin, and I expect that if I’d been blessed with childre...more

I could not put this book down for the two days. The description does not indicate to you that there are supernatural beings in the story, but rather that there are supernatural events. I was pleased to discover that you actually encounter the supernatural in it, since I love supernatural. Megan is not an ordinary girl, but she is the ordinary twin. Her sister is the one everyone pays attention to. Flamboyant, girly, and outgoing, that's Morgan. Megan kind of lives in her shadow and is the tag a...more

Fate's Design by Lola James

My thoughts on Fate's Design by Lola James is that is was truly a great book about guardians and dhampires. For anyone not knowing what a dhampire is hey are alf human and half vampire. What can get better than this in a book. Hot fictional supernatural men gets me hooked every-time. I am definitely Team Alex in this book. This is heart-felt story between Megan and Alex. Fate is a powerful pull without adding the supernatural aspect into it. The book revolves around so...more

I have had one of Lola's books on my Kindle for awhile and hadn't gotten to it yet so when I saw this book on tour I had to sign up. I am so glad I did. This book was fantastic. I immediately connected with Megan, Morgan and instantly fell for Alex.

I am not sure what else I could say except that this book held my attention from the beginning and all the way through I kept trying to figure out what her dreams meant. I loved the fact the majority of this book is set in Italy. I lived there when I...more

I lucked out an got an ARC copy of this to read from the lovely Lola James. I was hooked right away, the story was so compelling. Megan and Morgan are total polar opposites, but that really works for their relationship. They embark on the summer trip of a lifetime to Italy so Morgan can go to fashion school. They get to meet some long lost relatives, and of course some hunky new guys.

Enter Alex,*sighs* Alex is everything you want in a man. Rich, good looking, caring, I mean really, what more cou...more

I read this book for Promotional Book Tours.

I found this book a tad bit boring at first. Megan and Morgan are identical twins. Megan always seems to live in her sister's shadow. Morgan was the outgoing life of the party type. Megan was the depressed debbie downer type.

Their trip to Italy changed it all. This book has twists and turns that keep you interested. I personally really got into the story after they made their way to Italy and Megan met Alexandros.

This book is book 1 in a series. I thi...more

Adventurous!

What a wonderful, exciting journey. This is the second book I have read of Lola’s and I love them both. Twins travel to the beautiful county of Italy and find more than they expected. Is it Fate’s Design or a set up? The travel, excitement, and strange occurrences kept me turning the pages until the very end. This book has a beautiful blend of mystery, action, drama, tragedy, and romance that involved me right away. I also loved the male characters, smokin' hot vampires, but my favor...more

In Fate's Design Megan finds a little more than she bargained for, as she sets on an incredible summer trip to Italy, to visit her twin sister Morgan. In this sweet, charming romantic novel perfect for the top of the pile summer reading list, Lola James whisks her away on a once in a lifetime summer trip to beautiful Italy that quickly turns into a heated romance she never expected. Alexandros DiPiero is dark, handsome, and mysteriously alluring. Sparks seem to pop and fly, as soon as he sets h...more

Wow, I so did not expect a supernatural element to this story. Like the title suggests, this novel is about what Fate has in store for Megan. Ok, when I say supernatural elements to this story, I do not mean that Fate is personified. (Just to clear things up a little). Messing with Fate, is a major part to this story that quickly pulls you in, as Lola brings in the world where Fate is predestined, think th...more

This story is a mostly sweet “vampire” romance with a bit of a love triangle twist. The story certainly keeps me guessing and ends with an episodic cliff-hanger. The only thing I find confusing is the two main girl characters’ names are Megan and Morgan. Yes, they were twins, but it is hard to distinguish which is which for a bit in the beginning. Aside from that minor detail, this book is a nice, light read compared to most vampire stories out there.

This book was a relatively quick read but I enjoyed it wholeheartedly.

Lola James had me enthralled in the story from the beginning to end. I really can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This book had vampires, dhampirs, witches, guardians, and even two cute little cherubs popped in a couple of times!

The plot had romance, action, mystery, secrets, hot hunky men, and more twists and turns then you can keep track of.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I absolutely LOVED this book. From the moment I started reading it I found it impossible for me to put it down. I loved getting to know the characters and seeing how the story unfolds. I can't wait for the next book to come out so I can see how the story continues. Lola is a talented author and has created a life long fan. You have to read this book, I know you will enjoy it, as much as I did.

Loved this book. I was drawn into this story right off the bat. So many twists I was always in suspense. Who can you trust, what will happen next? Only a few questions that I had. I immediately felt my knees go weak for Alex. *sigh* WONDERFUL book, must read. I can't wait for the second part!!!!

This was a goodreads giveaway that I won. And it was a enjoyable read. It took me a little while to get into it.
But it was an easy read. Maybe a little too easy.

Fate's Design is about a women named Megan Romano who meets a beautiful stranger, who goes by the name of Alexandros DiPiero. He is tall, dark, and handsome. Of course he is!
This book was entertaining, but a little corny. There were times when the conversation didn't really flow well.

Overall though, I did like it.

Sigh. It started as an ok book but too much of things going on. It didn't strike my fancy. I really tried to finish this book but couldn't.

This was my first book by Lola James and I have to say that I was spellbound through the entire story. Megan's personality spoke to me and made me project myself into the story. This story had everything I could want...travel, mystery, hunky men, evil vampires, hot vampires, and hot, hot loving. The ending will have you tied up in knots. I can't wait for the next book.

Lola James has been reading romance novels since her teens, and fell in love with the paranormal after discovering Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Her love of the dark worlds of vampires and witches, as well as her fascination with Greek mythology led her to create the Spellbound Series, an ongoing Paranormal Romance combining all of the above into tales of suspense with a little bit of humor in a...more
