Fun read and super duper steamy! Lots of self-release going on...from one horny teenage boy! It was pretty funny! I loved Donnie from Chase in Shadow, and had no idea that he and Alejandro had a book telling their story until Kris told me about this book. Not only do we see how these two get together, we get some insight into Chase's conflicted thoughts and feelings prior to his own book. Those little tidbits alone were worth reading about. Even though Chase was less than a stellar friend to Don ...more

When Donnie was sixteen years old, he helped his sister Michelle move in with her new roommate, Alejandro. Up till that time, all that really mattered to Donnie was baseball, hanging out with his friends, and playing video games. But when he was around Yandro, whose dark Latin looks and dancer’s body were so very different from his own blonde jock build, something new began to stir.

As Donnie gets a little older, the feelings grow stronger and more powerful. He recognizes he is gay, and finally c

That was so freaking cute I think I gotta go knit some socks! It's nice to have a pattern too!

I love Donnie so much. He's wise and innocent at the same time and so endearing. This was just cute all around. And hot as hell. There were so many ejaculations in this expanded version I lost count around 20%!

Cute, adorable, super sweet, and with a message of joy and hope, this story captured my heart. It was interesting to see it build right in front of my eyes, starting small and gradually adding pieces until I saw the whole picture of who Donnie and Alejandro were to each other. There isn’t a lot of information about who they are outside their changing friendship, but it wasn’t important to me. Somehow that exclusive focus on each other was just right for this.

Donnie starts out with a crush on Ale

A sweet, fluffy and sexy prequel of sorts to Chase in Shadow about how Donny and Yandro got together.

We do get a few glimpses of Chase's struggle to come to terms with his best friend Donny's sexuality and Donny's fears for Chase's self-deception, but this story is really about Donny's coming out and getting together with the guy of his dreams, the manwhore Yandro. Donny is innocent and Yandro a bit jaded and fearing not just a relationship, but one with his roommate's younger brother. It turns

Okay, there's a lot going on here, so let's get a few things straight first. This was originally written offered for FREE from the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, Hot Summer Days event, and has since been expanded and is now sold. It is a prequel to Chase in Shadow, about one of the side characters (Chase's BFF Donnie), and I think it is fine to read before or after that book. It's also considered the second book in the Granby Knitting series that starts with The Winter Courtship Rituals of Fur-Bea

I had no idea there was a prequel to the Johnnies series, so I read this after Chase in Shadow. I thought the title was super cheesy, but I love it now that I've read the story! Donnie was so young and sweet. And Yandro was such a great guy, trying to do right by him. Very much a light n fluffy read, which was just what I needed today.

OMG! I loved this story!!!

Even though it is way too short, it was really HOT and SWEET!!! Even the ending was kinda perfect because it leaves the rest up to my imagination.

CUTESY!!!
Thank God Ms. Lane can write light too! If this was like Chase in Shadow I might die. XD

The only thing I didn't like was (view spoiler)

But it was nice to read about Donnie & Yandro's backstory. :D

Another winner from Amy Lane. Interesting and lovable characters, great dialog and excellent humor. Donnie was adorable and for a 19-year old he carried himself with great confidence. Of course I loved Alejandro. He was so conflicted and well, horny. And it took finding Donnie in an awkward situation for him to see him as more than his roommate's little brother. Their connection felt real and their chemistry was off the charts.

I will continue to read the series since the first two titles have b

Totally ADORABLE!

This story was an expanded version of the Super Sock Man story in the Hot Summer Days Anthology.

This is Donnie and Alejandro's story. Donnie's sister new roommate Alejandro is the man of Donnie's every fantasy. He is gorgeous and nice, but also kind of aloof and emotionally disconnected. He just has casual sex and does not really want a relationship. Even if Donnie is a few years younger he might the man to get Alejandro to take a chance at love.

Super sweet, sexy and funny.

Loved this freebie novella of Donnie and Yandro, with a little side of Chase (of Chase in Shadow fame). Sweet and sexy. 4 stars.

Going with the theme of the series, this story was very cute. I liked it a lot. Donnie and Alejandro were intense but adorable. The unrequited feelings they harbored for years was intriguing as well as how they dealt with them. I was glad that Alejandro didn't make a big deal out of 'settling' down. Donnie is just a big ray of sunshine. I was smiling every time he smiled.

I really liked the story but I felt like there was too much Chase involved in it. There was also a lot of sex, more

This is a sweet and relatively angst-free story, with Amy Lane's trademark characters who work their way into your heart. Donnie is young and vibrant and remarkably self-assured. Yandro is a nice combination of world-weary and vulnerable. They seem like a bad fit at first, but through the story the way they fit together gradually becomes evident. By the end, the love between them is real and beautiful. This is a no-tears story from an author who is partially responsible for my large Kleenex budg ...more

OMG I loved this book! What a pleasant surprise. Finally I'm not disappointed by a listopia recommendation. I loved the dialogue in the novella. The sex was freaking hot!!! I liked how Chelle stood up for her brother. I loved Donnie and Yandro together.

I thought I recognize Chase so I went searching. I realized he's the same Chase from Chase in Shadow. I'm glad he was only briefly mentioned here because he was a douche bag here and in his own book LOL. I can't believe how much I loved this and h

3.75 stars. Pretty sure it's completely unrelated to the Granby series though.

Supposedly book two in the Granby Knitter's series by Amy Lane https://www.goodreads.com/series/7573... but as far as I can tell (from the vantage of being halfway through book 4 Knitter in His Natural Habitat Knitting 4 as I write this review) not in any way connected other than hand knitted socks! In fact as far as I can see it's connected far more closely to Chase in Shadow Johnnies 1. (Interested as I am to hear ab

Wish I had read this before Chase in Shadow by Amy Lane, the epic follow on to this book.... and my favorite book of all time. Sadly, this story left me dissatisfied/unimpressed. I do think it's a fun little story....and it has a bonus pattern at the end for the knitters.

This is the 2nd book in the knitters series and since I have to read books in order I read it before the rabbit one. However, this didn't have anything to do with the first book that I could tell and don't know yet if there are any people repeated in the 3rd book. That said, it was a super sweet, no angst story and I loved it.

A sweet and cute read with a different and interesting storyline! Unusual and sexy.
Donna
It was nice to get the whole story between Donnie and Alejandro...their names popped up several times while I was reading the "Johnnie" series...but you never really got to see how they "happened"!!! This was a very cute story with a surprisingly well developed story line for such a short piece!!! I am very glad that a friend pointed me in the direction of this story...as I had no clue it was a tie-in with the "Johnnie" series!!! As always...Amy Lane has given us an entertaining story...with a f ...more

This is part of the Johnnies Series and Im sure anyone that has read about Chase and his friends will acknowledge that a lot of it is pretty dark and full of angst. This is Amy Lane we are talking about after all! Super Sock Man is like a ray of sunshine in the series. It’s short and full of humour and the angst level is kept low whilst the loving level is red hot.

When Chase started looking more closely at how other men made him feel sexually it was with

This is like a prequel to the Johnnie’s series. Donnie is Chase’s friend who sort of “introduces” Chase to the joys of gay sex even though Chase still won’t admit he’s gay. (Good Reads lists this as part of the Granby knitting series, but I think it’s only because knitting is involved.)

Donnie, meanwhile, is falling in love with his sister’s roommate Alejandro. Over the course of 3 years Donnie’s crush grows and grows and Alejandro isn’t immune.

Eventually Donnie and Alejandro come together and it

Originally published as a part of GoodReads’ M/M Romance Groups Hot Summer Days, Amy Lane’s Super Sock Man is the tale of Donnie and Alejandro. The two meet when Alejandro or “Yando” moves in with Donnie’s older sister, Chelle, both dancers in a local troupe. Donnie, then an inexperienced sixteen year old, gets an immediate crush on his sister’s roommate and that’s when he finally realizes he’s gay. As Donnie grows older, Yando and he become friends and their attraction grows. But Yando is a kno ...more

“Chase was gone then, and Donnie was back, alone in his room, wondering about those pictures from an art book he'd so admired. Because it felt like he'd just lived one, and it had been beautiful, so beautiful, and he'd been able to reach out and touch the lines of it, but it still hurt.” 2 likes
