Well... This was a quickie read... and there were several things that brought it down for me, but the author's writing is excellent, so there is potential. Maybe future books will be better.

A problem for me, but maybe great for others, is that this is a clean (only describe kissing) romance book. It bothered me because of all the fade in and out, assume something happened, scenes throughout this book. The obvious romance: kiss, open a condom & wake up next to a warm body part made me start t...more

The Teachers Billionaire by Christina Tetreault

Dylan & Callie

NICE, TAME, AND WELL WRITTEN

Ok, first of all, I'd like to start by saying that this was a very well written book... it had everything a story should... great characters, a good plot, plenty of highs and low, but for me it was too tame! In fact, "tame" isn't even in my vocabulary when I'm usually describing a book! I would recommend this to people like my Mom, my Aunt, even my Grandma if she was alive... just because it's so... well...more

In this contemporary romance, Callie, a sweet and slightly naive elementary school teacher, grew up believing her father was killed in a car accident before she was born.

Having just lost her mother, Callie feels a mixture of emotions when she discovers her mother lied to her. Her father is very much alive, and not only that, he is running for President.

Callie struggles to come to terms with what she has learned, while also dealing with her mother's death and the fact her mother kept this secret...more

Unlike many other free books available for kindle, this one actually had decent writing, in that I didn't finish with the impression of terrible spelling or back grammar, though I did get thrown off occasionally by clichés. So why exactly couldn't I finish reading it? Well, it was probably because of the fact that the execution of the story completely missed the mark.

It's a romance, I get that. I knew that when I downloaded it and I knew that when I started to read...more

This is a story about a teacher who's mother has just passed and she has been thrown into a situation where she finds out that her father is in fact alive and is very active in the public eye. She finds herself falling for the man sent to deal with her. He just so happens to be the son of her father's new wife, a well-known bachelore.
Callie seems comfortable with herself and even though she questions why a sexy-ceo-bachelor wants to spend time with her she doesnt seem whiney about it. She's com...more

I found a free copy of The Teacher's Billionaire ,The Sherbrookes of Newport #1, on Amazon so I downloaded the ebook version onto my kindle pc.

This is a fantastic contemporary romance that focuses on...wait for it...a teacher and a billionaire. All joking aside I really enjoyed this romance.

The premise is sweet: unknown daughter reunited with father she thought was dead and falls in love with said father's stepson. Of course there are some bumps in the road, but like most love stories, this has...more

As of the very beginning things were not going to be easy for me with this book. Sod’s law and all that. For some reason the PDF wouldn’t covert to .mobi so I was stuck reading the book in PDF form, which is hard on my eyes. I ended up reading it on the Kindle as the boyfriend was using the tablet and I know from experience that reading from the PC screen no longer works for me. So I just had my nose smushed up against the screen and went from there!

Callie Taylor is an elementary school teacher whose mother passed away recently. Her mother's friend stops by one day to tell Callie about a letter that Callie's mother requested she mail after she died, a letter that would change Callie's life. Callie's mother had always told her that her father died when she was young, only now Callie finds out that her father is still alive. Not only is he still alive, he is a Senator, and he is running for President. Callie is completely flabbergasted by the...more

This was a charming romance, a light, fun summertime read. The characters were well developed and this was a great start to the new series, can't wait to read more. Callie has her whole life turned upside down with the revelation of who her father is and Dylan is suspicious and trying to protect his stepfather and family. They both find love unexpectedly and it is almost lost when Callie discovers Dylan's reasons behind spending time with her. Ahhh but honesty prevails....

Okay, I really loved this book more than I hoped. Callie Taylor is an average 31 year old teacher when her recently deceased mother's best friend informs her that her mother has been keeping a secret about her father. She learns that her father is not dead like she thought but he is in fact presidential hopeful and senator Warren Sherbrookes. This throws Callie's world off balance throw in a sexy Adonis Brit and Callie's world is thrown in a tailspin. Dylan Talbot is instantly suspicious when al...more

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I received this for review as part of the Reading Addiction Blog Tours. Please see the disclosure at the bottom of this post for more information.

I was drawn to The Teacher's Billionaire because it begins with the revelation of a dark family secret, and that's totally in my wheelhouse even if romances are not. Usually, I roll my eyes all the way through love stories (I am not a fan), but I didn't want to stop reading this one. The characters are completely believable and each setting so vivid, I wanted to hop a plane to Boston to see some of the places where Callie and Dylan actually walked. She's a pretty average schoolteacher that jumpe...more

I have to admit I enjoy a good romance, and this qualifies as a pretty good romance, I would say. I can identify with Callie since she is a teacher (and so am I). I cannot imagine how the news she heard would change my life, and it was amazing to see how it changed hers. I don't think I would have responded too well to the news either. I might even tend to say that Callie was very similar to me in personality, so I easily identified with her.

Dylan had everything going for him. And the fact that...more

The Teacher's Billionaire by Christina Tetreault

Christina Tetreault has written a true romance novel. Christina’s writing is good, character description and plot are well written the story flows and you get enough information to get to know all the characters and enjoy the story.

This story is about Callie finding out a secret her mother kept all her life, now after her death Callie learns that her father is alive. Callie’s dad really wants to meet her and make up for lost time. Dylan who is the...more

What do you do when you find out that your father is a famous person, a VIP, when you've had a lifetime of normal?
This is a classic rags to riches storyline, but the heroine, Callie is a repected teacher with friends and a quiet but secure life when she finds out that the future President is her father. I always wondered about women that hide their pregnancies from the father. I understand in the abusive case, but if they are kind loving people? I don't understand depriving the child and the man...more

I read this book as part of a blog tour for this book. It was listed as contemporary romance which is a genre I really enjoy. While this is a fairly easy/quick read, I found the beginning slow. I don't know if there was too much set up or that it was just a slower paced read in the beginning. At almost the half way point, it picked up and caught my interesting and I was turning page after page after page. The story line did follow a similar plot line as all romances, but the author was able to k...more

I have to say.. Any title with billionaire on it just throws me off and I expect a mediocre type of read.. This one was cute... Short and sweet. And free!

Not too much drama, just an easy going type of relationship with only one hitch.I would've liked a bit more turnabouts aside from the way he approached her..I'd like to see more interaction between the half sisters, more of the step mother's reaction... Too bad at the end it skipped through all that and summarized each of their relationships....more

This just wasn't my type of story, I guess. I had trouble connecting with the characters, and it was predictable. Callie learns after her mother's death that her husband is still alive and happens to be the anticipated next President of the US. Her father sends the hunky Dylan, his stepson, to meet Callie and arrange their introduction. Callie's father's wife and staff are worried that Callie's existence will derail his election and send Dylan back to keep tabs on her. The two hit it off and fal...more

Wow...I really liked it!
It was kept real...you could picture yourself actually there inside the book with the characters.
Truly a fun relax out in the sun on the beach read!
(Don't forget a hottie of your own to rub in some sunscreen!)

The writing was so nice, each scene , each character, worked great.
I think the realism of the places made the book so much better. Being able to pictured yourself on the "not dates" with Dylan and Callie were beyond fun.
I think being able to connect like that also a...more

What a sweet story! I loved so much about this book. I grew up in New England and barely have missed my time there until I read this book. Christina's words transported me back to all the places I loved to visit as a child. I loved her characters, you feel for Callie, you understand Dylan, you want to see them together and the end doesn't disappoint. The other aspect of the book is Callie's relationship with her father and step mother. I was so afraid Warren wouldn't accept her and even more afr...more

I do not usually read pure romance and wondered if a book without some other type of conflict, ie ‘crime’ could hold my interest. I was pleasantly surprised!
This is the delightful, sweet and confidently written story of Callie Taylor who quite suddenly learns the true identity of the father she has never known. Though her father is eager to meet her, he is a presidential candidate and other members of the family regard Callie with some scepticism. A plan is hatched for her to be met initially b...more

This story kept me interested. It is an enjoyable, weekend read. It is predictable, and I wish we saw more interactions among Callie and Sherbrookes, but I realize it is a romance between Callie and Dylan. It was a sweet romance. I'm not sure yet if I will continue reading the series, but I did enjoy this book offer from Kindle.

I did notice that like many romances that I've read over the past year, the main character bites her lip when worried or nervous. I am amused because it seems to be a co...more

The Teacher's Billionaire has a very interesting plot line. Callie's mother died recently, and she just found out her father is the next presidential candidate Senator Warren Sherbrooke. She's not really sure what she feels about finally learning the truth about her father, and why her mother kept it a secret for so long. But she might not have much a choice not that Warren wants to see her. But to help keep Warren's career in check Dylan his stepson is sent to check out Callie, and make sure sh...more

This was a First Reads giveaway book. I thought the story was cute. I liked Callie and Dylan. My only complaint is that I felt their relationship progressed too fast for reality. I have to admit that this is the first romance novel that I've read so maybe that is normal for the genre.

I would not recommend this book for teenagers. There is detailed description of foreplay but nothing beyond that. I was a little worried that this was going to be a trashy romance novel but was glad to discover that...more

Callie is shocked to learn about the secret her mother kept from her all of her life. She feels she is way old to embrace a father who was never in her life. Yes, he may have money, but she is quite happy with her quaint life.

Dylan knows how important it is to shelter his stepfather from unfavorable media attention. He is all to aware of the lengths some people will go to exploit him and his family, unlike his stepfather, he doubts Callies intentions and d...more

2.5 stars maybe? Not too bad, but not great either.

I didn't mind it, though I felt like there were huge gaps in the story. Also, in parts there was a good flow, but then... There wasn't.

The characters were ok, and I'm still tempted to read Jakes book - though I'm not sure if I'm happy to pay for it :/

Looking at it now, it was very hard to get invested in the stories and characters because of all the gaps. You kept getting thrown out of the story and wondering if you've missed a few pages.

An interesting read, I wasn’t sure how I was going to react to the book. The characters are so vivid you feel like you know them and are there with them every step of the way. Dylan is to watch Callie. The more time they spend together the more Callie falls for Dylan. Callie learns a secret when he mother passes. Her father is alive and she wants to find him.
The author did a wonderful job with down to earth keeping things real. A page turner you can easily read in a day if not two. You want to k...more

I have mixed views, mostly good though, on this book. Pro's for me were that it flawless in terms of grammar and spelling. It was a quick easy read. The thing that threw me was that it was oddly formatted - I since learned it was somewhere in the kindle conversion process. This book presented lots of mini chapters with lots of mini scenes. It's the first time I've encountered a book of this style. It seemed to jump from view to view which was confusing at first but as I got into the book it was...more

Callie and Dylan, who belong to two very different worlds, find themselves in each other's paths when Callie finds out who her biological father is - Dylan's stepfather.

Dylan, who has utmost respect to his stepfather, goes to Callie and check her if she is indeed Senator Sherbrooke's daughter. But then guess what? He falls in love with her!

Okay, forgive me for the sarcasm. Anyone who reads this book already know beforehand that this is a romance novel.

I actually did enjoy this book. It took me q...more
