Stalk Me by Jillian Dodd was a fun filled, angsty ride. It's a mix between Gossip girl meets Beverly Hills 90210 and I loved it. Keatyn is the type of girl you always wanted to be in high school. Jillian Dodd still has my socks!

She knocked them off with That Boy & That Wedding and has decided not to give them back! I was a little worried before jumping in. I mean what if she comes down with a big case of suck!? It could happen!! It. Did. Not. Happen. Now Jillian Dodd has my socks and my knickers!

Worst.book ever. And here is why.

Let me just start by saying that I am so utterly pissed about this book. My reason to feel so has nothing to do with the fact that the main character wasn't very likeable. I mean, she is the daughter of Hollywood royalty, she is part of the popular girls, she is acts like a bitch then feels bad because she is acting like a bitch and want to change her ways, unfortunately is too weak to do so. I could deal with that. I could even deal with the...more Worst.book ever. And here is why.

Let me just start by saying that I am so utterly pissed about this book. My reason to feel so has nothing to do with the fact that the main character wasn't very likeable. I mean, she is the daughter of Hollywood royalty, she is part of the popular girls, she is acts like a bitch then feels bad because she is acting like a bitch and want to change her ways, unfortunately is too weak to do so. I could deal with that. I could even deal with the fact that she couldn't make up her mind about which boy she wanted. She loves Brooklyn then she loses her virginity to Cush, then dreamy Cush acts out of character sending Keatyn back to Brookyln's arms again. But then Brooklyn starts to act like a dick and wants to change who Keatyn is, so Keatyn naturally breaks up with B and goes back to dreamy Cush. By then she realizes she actually loves Cush. That is when everything went down the drain and I was like are you freaking kidding me? What is this shit?

You see, there was a stalker problem in this book (duh, obviously look at the title). But the stalker problem seemed to be more like a subplot because Keatyn's love woes took central stage throughout the whole book. So, 70 percent through the story, the stalker problem takes over. Instead of that being the climax of the plot where the stalker gets arrested, Keatyn finally starts to act like herself and have a HEA ending with Cush, the author decides to let the stalker go free. Yes people, a guy who attempted to kidnap a teenager goes free merely 20 minutes after such an attempt, even before the police got Keatyn's statement just because the stalker is gorgeous and has money? WTF? (Okay, according to the author, the police did take Keatyn's statemente, however I don't recall reading about it. Such an important fact I shouldn't have to read between the lines or guess. It was not the first time that things weren't exactly clear in Jillian's books, so maybe she should take it into consideration next time).

And then, to make things more freaking unbelievable, Keatyn gets sent to a boarding school in New York and is forbidden to tell Cush what happened to her because it could put him in danger ,however she is allowed to maintain contact with Brooklyn, how does that make sense? I hate when authors push their plot agenda without consideration to common sense. And how do you want me to believe that the teenager daughter of an A-list celebrity could go anywhere incognito? She didn't even change her unusual name, just her last name. Talk about lame. That was the biggest bullshit in Stalk me and it made me change a possible 3 star rating to 1.

So yeah, I'm really angry that I wasted so much time reading Stalk me. This was me giving the benefit of the doubt. I liked That Boy but thought that That Wedding was weak. After Stalk me, I doubt that will be reading any more books by Jillian. Her writing style just doesn't do it for me.(less)

If you want a light read, try this!

This book has the ingredients for an exciting next read: catchy title, totally hot, swoon-worthy boys and a filthy, rich heroine who seriously needs to make up her mind.

Halfway through the novel, I kept thinking, Keatyn can't keep bouncing from one guy to another. It was a frustrating read for me.

Gossip Girl meets Mean Girls with the setting in Malibu. I loved it and all its glamour, money, cars, killer clothes, popular crowd's antics and the fickleness of the teenage relationships-"in and out of love" before they could get their tongues out of each other's mouths.

This was a mature Young Adult romance because of the sexual situations and drugs. The sex wasn’t descriptive, but the wild parties seemed to make these kids much more advanced than 16 & 17 years of age. At times I felt like I was watching an episode of The O.C. or the reality show Laguna Beach; fast kids with too much money and all the drama that goes with it…ADDICTIVE. Call me shallow, but I watched all of those night time soap operas faithfully and loved the teenage petty drama. I did keep thinking that all of these kids needed more parental supervision and guidance. Although Keatyn seemed very grounded and I loved her relationship with her movie star mother, step-father and 4 little sisters, she just had way too much freedom. (view spoiler)

I am impressed by how much I like Jullian Dodd’s writing style, she has interesting stories that are current and just flow. They are so engaging and hip. She is on the cutting edge of fashion, the wardrobe descriptions alone are a good reason to read this book. The words and phrases she uses are cool and fresh, as well as, she is right there with all the pressures of today’s teens with sex, friendships, and drugs. What was really different with the romance in this book was that Keatyn was the heroine, but she had many different leading men (or boys) and the dynamic of her love life was forever changing. I was right there with her too. I would fall in love with one boy and then he would make a dumbass move and I was on to the next one. The book was populated with many hot guys to choose from and they all wanted Keatyn. I prefer to read one mature love story with big gestures, big love, hot sex and an overwhelming HEA. This is not that style, yet I devoured it and I couldn’t put it down.

The book is named Stalk Me, but that seemed to be a smaller part of the story or it at least it took a backseat for me because I loved all the young relationship turmoil. I am sure the stalking issues will continue in the next book with a whole new cast of hot young guys, bitchy mean girls and high school situations.

Stalk Me (The Keatyn Chronicles) is an on going series and Book 1 ends as a "to be continued" which bums me out because I want it NOW! Teaser chapters for book 2 look really good and I can't wait to read it in December. I believe there is going to be 6 books in the series, not sure I have the patience to have mine and Keatyn's heart shattered over and over through six books, but I am going to step out of my comfort zone and try to enjoy every moment of this teenager’s life. Stalk Me was absolutely a brilliant start!

Did I just read the same book as everyone else?

My rating for this book: 1 STAR (& only because I really liked Cush).

My main gripe with the story was Keatyn. She was wholly unlikable, and I could not relate to, or connect with her. I didn’t want to, either. She was a stuck-up, immature, spoiled ass brat that could not keep her hormones in check, and an attention seeking, flip-flopping, wishy-washy, people pleaser. Stalk Me was not quite what I expected but in a good way! It has the same great writing style Dodd showcased in That Boy and That Wedding but with a much edgier storyline that will appeal to mature young adults and adults. There are sooo many HOT, I mean HOT, boys in this book that I feel like I just got back from a trip to Swoonville and I will take that trip as many times as Jillian Dodd grants me a ticket!

I feel like I’ve lost a few brain cells. This book hurt to read. I was super excited to read this series. It’s no secret that I LOVED the That Boy series. But after reading this and looking back at That Boy, I think I was blinded by my pure love of Phillip and Danny that I just overlooked so many things. TEAM AIDEN!!!! Okay, I am not going to lie...I switched teams a lot during this book. But I would have to say that at the end of Stalk Me, I was Team Aiden! I started out Team Brooklyn....then became Team Cush.....but fell in love with Aiden. :) Needless to say, there is no shortage of HOT guys in this book. I read a lot of the reviews and thought, I could read this book. I then saw the author lowered the price and thought, WOW, I should really read this book. Then I downloaded a sample and decided to buy the book.

Boys, Boys and more Boys, and I couldn't ask for anything more ;) My brain is still recovering and may go into hibernation trying to decide who is " the one" for Keatyn, who talks to the moon wishing for her? I have a soft spot for my Cush man, but Aiden has certainly got my attention. Really looking forward to book two called Kiss Me, which I believe comes out in December. Definitely a MUST READ!

This was a very cute and light and funny read. I loved getting to know Cush and Brooklyn and even see Vanessa brought down a rung.

I loved her struggle with getting to know herself and how she tried to put all her pieces of who she was together to form herself - who she was with Brooklyn, Sander, Cush and others.

The story was great...until her birthday party. I was even good with the party, what happened - and how she seemed to work out where she wanted to be at the end.

I have been marinating over this review for hours and even after all that time the only thing I can say is I’m totally Team Cush! I love Cush to death he might have actually been my favorite character in this book possibly even more than Keatyn. I think I’m having trouble because I really enjoyed the style of writing in this book and I really liked the characters, except for Brooklyn, but at the same time there were several things that I didn’t like.

I think I’m having trouble because I really enjoyed the style of writing in this book and I really liked the characters, except for Brooklyn, but at the same time there were several things that I didn’t like.

The premise of the story is great and Jillian Dodd writes a fast paces and exciting novel. Her characters are very relatable, funny, and snarky, which of course I love. I love the dynamic between Keatyn and her family. Her Mom and Tommy are great and the fact that there are a gaggle of kids in her house is adorable.

I really enjoyed getting to know Keatyn and the way she struggled with who she was and who she wanted to be was incredibly believable. So many teenagers have no clue who they want to be and I like that, that aspect of the book was very real.

But I feel like halfway through the book; maybe even sooner Keatyn got a little boy crazy. One of my pet peeves is people just hopping back and forth from guys being all “in love” and then moving on to the next guy or flirting and kissing a guy when you’re supposedly in love with someone else.

That bugged me and I hated how Brooklyn basically just used her. You don’t tell someone you love them and then call them a friend. He was an ass. Keatyn was in love with him for the longest time and then he totally breaks her heart. But Cush, I can see him being in love with her, waiting around and just being her friend.

I can look past that though, because the story was good and the writing was captivating. Another thing that kind of bugged me was the story was about a stalker and there was barely anything in it about him. I knew who it was as soon as the character was introduced, but I thought there would have been more in that department.

The entire first book was mostly about the guys she was sleeping with and the friends who were driving her crazy. And that’s not to say it wasn’t good or entertaining because it was. I just wish there would have been a little more focus on the bad guy, but the second book seems to pick up right where the first left off so I’m looking forward to reading that one and seeing how the whole storyline plays out!

All in all it was a well written, interesting book. And I totally hope the Cushman is back in Kiss Me!(less)

Keatyn is not your average girl. She is the daughter of Abby Johnson, famous and most recognized actress. Her father died when she was nine, but her stepfather treated her like his own. She grew up on movie sets with her mother and stepfather and has travelled the world. Keatyn's upbringing has always included her mother, her stepfather, her step-sisters, cleaners, nanny’s and her mother’s entourage of make-up artists, hairstylists and wardrobe designers and, unfortunately creepy stalkers looking for a chance with her mum. After years and years of traveling, all Keatyn wants to do is live in a nice permanent house and go to high school. She has written the perfect script for her high school dream; she will be popular, good-looking and the best dressed, obviously. But when her high school experience isn't all it was made out to be and everything, including her friends and boyfriend feels like a sham, how will Keatyn escape the lie? And will it all be too much? How could she possible escape this mess?

I did like this book, but I don't know... Something wasn't right. I liked the story line, it was well thought out, clever and interesting. I think it was just the lifestyle; various love triangles and the characters that annoyed me.

Keatyn was alright. She was kind of annoying, spoilt, pathetic and overly dramatic. Her constant use of OHMIGAWD annoyed me so much. Who even says that? Let alone spells in like that. "Oh my god" every now and then, would have been better. It was obvious Keatyn's family had money. She has a house in France and the world’s biggest closet (full of some fabulous sounding clothes!). Keatyn wasn't spoilt as such, but she did have a lot of stuff and a lot of freedom. It kind of annoyed me how much freedom she had. Like, her parents didn’t even care that she got home at like four in the morning after a party. I understand trust, but her parents should have been more careful because they, being famous actors, understand the risks. Keatyn was kind of weak. Her supposed “best friends” of hers, were the biggest bitches I have even had the displeasure of reading about. Why, oh why, did she put up with them!? They were horrible to her. I couldn’t deal with that at all, no way in hell. Towards the end, she got a little bit stronger and kinda left behind the “bitchyness”. Anyway, Keatyn was alright. I grew to like her a lot more towards the end. Throughout the book she did sometimes seem really stupid, but sometimes she was smart.

Ok… the boys in the book. There were plenty! Cush is the first boy in Keatyn’s life that we were introduced to. He is a total player, but is a good friend to Keatyn and Sander, her boyfriend’s, best friend. Secondly, we were introduced to Keatyn’s boyfriend, Sander. I didn’t really like Sander, he seemed kinda… distant? He wasn’t a very good boyfriend. I had my suspicions about him, and in the end I was right! Then there was Brooklyn. Keatyn has loved him since she first laid eyes on him when she was 15. He has a good body, taught Keatyn to surf, is her surfing buddy, a good friend and he calls her Keats, what else could she want? Honestly? I didn’t like Brooklyn at all. He was the biggest douche. Just, urgh. After being introduced to Brooklyn, we were finally introduced to mysterious Vincent. Urgh, I don’t even know where to start with Vincent. I didn’t like him, at all. Straight from the beginning, I knew he was going to be weird. Keatyn was smart, though, and… not suspicious, as such, but wary. Of all the boys in the story, Cush was definitely my favourite. At first he came off a bit arrogant and a dick, but he was really sweet and I loved him! I felt sorry for him at the end though. *sad face*

As I’m writing this review and my best friend is reading the book, I’m realising how much I actually liked this book. There were some really… awful parts of the book that left me head desking, but other than that, I actually really enjoyed it. I love Jillian Dodd’s writing and I am definitely glad I read this book and will absolutely be reading the rest of the Keatyn Chronicles!(less)

There's drama, love (I think), one night stands, summer flings, music gigs, hot boys, bitchy girls, everything you expect to be in a contemporary novel based on a girl going to high school.

Keatyn is the daughter of Abby (who is some big actress) and is trying to live the life at high school. Being popular, owning the best clothes, portraying herself around bitches for friends, and just trying to live life. At first, I thought she was a bitch, but once I met her "best" friends Vanessa and Rianne, well, she wasn't even close. Jillian wasn't joking when she said it was Gossip Girl meets Hollywood. I didn't really like being in her head, because all she did talk about was herself, but I'll still continue to read on, because I want to know what happens.

Vanessa and Rianne are supposedly her best friends, but I wouldn't really call them her friends at all. They're probably the definition of attention seekers. Kind of like Keatyn. But at least Keatyn has a heart.

Then we get to the boys, and man, was there alot of boys. Let's get started on Sander, he's sweet, kind, totally adorable, but he didn't have that bad boy factor that everyone seems to like, and you kind of expect what happened. Then there's Keatyn's surfer boy friends, Brooklyn and Damian. We'll start on Damian, just because, he's an up-coming rockstar, singing is his life a long with being best friends with Keats and Brooklyn, he has this funny attitude along with the rockstar side and he's just that easy to like. (Plus, I've interviewed him so keep reading for that.) Brooklyn, oh Brooklyn, how I feel for thee so fast. I don't know, I have a thing for surfer boys, and it was like love at first sight, but did he like being in Keatyn's world? Well, no. But I'll still love him.

Think I'm finished? Try again. The next hot crush boy, is Cush. Cush. The boy every female wants. He's sweet, kind, funny and has that bad boy side of him. I actually think he's the perfect match for Keatyn, he treated her exactly how she wanted to be treated, and never betrayed the trust they had with each other.

So, I'll take a break on the boys for now, because there is other things to talk about, like the drama. There is just so much drama going on through-out the book, and I think that's part of the reason I was continuing to read. Okay, so there's the boy dramas, and what teenager girl doesn't experience some boy problems? If you didn't, then, you are one of the lucky few. Well done to you. Keep it up. There's also a stalker problem, but you should've known that, I mean, hello, look at the name of the book. Her friends are drama, her several flings are drama, her whole life is just drama drama drama. It was entertaining. It sounds sad, but it was.

Okay, let's get back to the boys. So due to drama with stalker, she ended up in boarding school, with which she met, wait for it... MORE boys. And, I loved these ones even more than the last. Riley and Dallas, ah, these two bring joy to me because they're just funny, they're Keatyn's first friends when she enters the school and I hope they stay, because I need to see more of them. Actually, I know they'll still be there, how could you just remove them from your life? Then we get to the other male that seems to be breaking into Keatyn's heart. Aiden. Now, personally, I don't have much interest for him, maybe because I'm all for the supporting characters and I seem to love them more than any other. BUT, there's always a but, I can see myself falling for this male that is called "The God of All Hotties." He even brought Keatyn lunch, sweet right?

So, all in all, I recommend this book for people that just need a summer read, with laughs in the middle, drama, and swoon worthy men that just make anxious until you see them again. I'm actually finding myself looking forward to the next book. Ah, this always happens. Damn. I think I am in the minority here.

What did I like about this book? Cush! Loved him. The End.

What did I not like about this book, well how about the 16 year girl who has multiple bed partners within days of each other. The fact that we had one too many guys (at least 4 or 5) involved almost making our girl look really slutty. But the major thing that pissed me off, the drugs and drinking every other page. I am completely surprised. I really was not expecting to like this book. I know, I know, don't judge a book by its cover, but the model on the front just looks like a spoiled teenage brat.

When I started the book I thought that I would like it. It seemed cute and fun. It started well and I was okay when we had only three guys(I think!) in the picture.

I liked Cush the most. He was super cute and adorable, but for no rhyme or reason he does something that is completely unlike his character and royally screws up. So, Keatyn breaks up with him and the book starts to go downhill from here.

This was really a great, fun, fun read. I've read That Boy and loved it but Stalk Me is way better I think. It's much sexier and funnier. Totally hooks you up. Keatyn is a very likeable character. Most of the times. Well, she can be frustrating and makes bad decisions but that's what makes her story fun. She is nice but tends to be bitchy sometimes. I was a fan of Jillian Dodd. I wanted to like this book. But it was just too hard. Mostly it just made me go "ick". I do applaud Ms. Dodd for a book that oozes slutty but with minimum promiscuity. It's a talent. It's not just the sexual content, it's the overall plot or lack of one. It sort of just slip slides all over the place and doesn't go ANYWHERE. Like seriously. You think Keatyn's going to learn some big lesson, but nope. She's right back where she started, if not worse.
