Review:

I love fairy tale endings and Sasha Summers has just given me the perfect one! I absolutely loved this story. It’s sweet and horrific all at the same time! Yes, I know that a contradiction.

Claire is a survivor. She survived her ex-husband beating her and putting her in the hospital more times than she can count. Now she’s met Josh. Younger, hottie hottie actor, and oh such a Prince Charming. Everyone needs a Josh in their life!

I REALLY liked Claire. She’s in her mid-thirties, divorced from her abusive ex-husband and raising 2 kids the best she can. She has scars and baggage but doesn’t let that keep her down. She decides to embrace life and all it can offer.

I like the way Ms. Summers depicted Claire. She’s definitely a survivor and not a victim. The abuse she suffered has definitely shaped the person she has become but id didn’t define her and become her whole life. Ms. Summers presented the abuse and it’s after-effects in a way that I knew what she had suffered and how it affected her but I didn’t feel brow-beaten by it. It was just part of who she was. Ms. Summers also did a phenomenal job of demonstrating how abuse affects people and how it changes their lives. She did all of this without letting it overtake the most important part of the story, living your life.

Josh was perfect! He’s handsome, doesn’t push too hard and gives space when it’s needed. He wanted all of Claire, scars and all.

The fact that Claire was 7 years older than Josh didn’t hinder the story. And while age was brought up a few times, it didn’t take over the plot, it just was.

I loved this story and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in this series.

Wow. This is what came to mind, after I finished Sasha Summer's beautiful story. I want to mention first that I love to connect with the characters, and see how they can be relatable to the readers, and to me there were relatable issues here. I definitely felt for Claire. She has been through a lot in her only thirty-five years of living. This was an exciting, romantic read that tackles a very heavy subject.

Their chemistry is smoking hot. Josh, with his quiet, understanding personality, is just what Claire needs to put her life back together after her disastrous marriage. He doesn't push her or put any demands on her, he just simply lays everything at her feet and trusts that she'll make the same decision he has about the two of them. When Claire finally trusts him enough to introduce her to her kids, you watch Josh make that final leap for Claire. You totally fall in love with him from that point forward.

Claire initially questions Josh's motives (because what would a 28 year old Hollywood It boy want with a 35 year old mother of two), but she never questions the chemistry they have between them. She fights with herself and with how she's been conditioned by her ex when evaluating their relationship, but she takes a leap of faith and hopes that the strong feelings she has for him are genuine...for her sake and her kids. It takes Claire quite a while to trust what she has with Josh and to know that she doesn't want anything or anyone to damage what they have. But it was fantastic to see Claire put everything on the line to make sure everything she loves was safe from her past.

A definite page turner with an adorable leading man and an incredibly brave and strong heroine. The blurb for this book doesn't do it justice, because it's about so much more than falling for a Hollywood star. It's about learning from our past and trusting ourselves enough to get it right the next time.(less)

She can't understand why the extremely hot and sexy young actor Josh would want her but he totally wins her (and us readers) over with his heartfelt compliments and unquestionable support. First and foremost is the satisfyingly sweet yet sexy romance between an older woman/younger man. Claire's just gotten out of an abusive marriage which has left her with self-esteem issues, amongst other scars. She can't understand why the extremely hot and sexy young actor Josh would want her but he totally wins her (and us readers) over with his heartfelt compliments and unquestionable support. Their relationship evolves realistically and seamlessly incorporates the demands of motherhood upon their fledging relationship. Josh time and time again proves he's in it for the long haul and his scenes with the children were heartwarming to see.

Amongst the sweetness were some very weighty issues. Claire is a survivor of physical and verbal abuse courtesy of her ex-husband Daniel who makes unnervingly sporadic appearances throughout the story to try to exert control over her. These scenes were extremely tense and it showed a new strength in her character that she didn't give into his demands. Her dealings with him were empowering and make her a character you can look up to.

Ms. Summers conveyed the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and all its trappings in a realistic manner as well as the serenity of London. The scenery took on a life of its own and I felt like a part of the action. The business side of Hollywood with all its positives and negatives was well done and was another issue this new couple had to cope with and was handled in a mature way.

Josh and Claire were great on their own but were amazing together. The sexual chemistry was there from the first moment they collided and intensified to some very steamy sexual encounters. The addition of the children brought out a tender side to Josh and helped Claire see how good of a man he was. The children were likable and enhanced the storyline greatly. There were other secondary characters equally entertaining and their appearances added to the sense of family Josh and Claire were trying to create.

This was a story that stays with you long after the final page is turned. The characters and emotions were realistic and gutwrenching and I was rooting for a HEA every moment. Josh and Claire were a wonderful couple with wonderful children who deserved happiness and Ms. Summers set them on a richly rewarding path to an immensely satisfying conclusion.(less)

When I was maybe 3/4 of the way through the book, I got to thinking that this story didn't feel like a story at all. It felt real. And I felt like I was spying on Claire's life: every conversation, every laugh, every touch, every kiss. It was fun and sad and, at times, scary to watch. But I really felt like I was there, observing it all.

Although Claire thinks that what she has with Josh can't possibly last beyond her week long vacation, when she must return to Texas where her two kids and mother are waiting for her, Josh isn't about to let it end that way. And Claire doesn't want it to end either, despite the fact that she worries about their eight year age difference. But when Claire's ex-husband Daniel learns that there might be something going on between her and Josh, he's determined to get her back — one way or another.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hollywood Ever After. As I mentioned above, it was like observing these people's lives and not just reading about them. They felt like real people, not just characters. And I honestly don't believe that I've ever felt that way about a book before. The story wasn't rushed, and while some people may think that certain scenes in this story might not have been necessary to the progression of the book, I found the everyday nuances of a family life rather nice.

Apart from Claire and Josh, there were a lot of great characters that I could really get attached to, for instance: Natalie and Will, Claire's children; Marty, Claire's mother; Nathan and Helen, Josh's father and sister; and Shannon, Claire's best friend. I have to admit, I really got a kick out of the interaction between Marty and Nathan while they were trying to prepare dinner. There were just a lot of little moments within the story that were just as fun and interesting as the main plot. And, of course, when I reached the end of the book, I wanted more. While the book had a satisfying ending, I wasn't quite ready to leave them.

So I definitely recommend Hollywood Ever After, and I look forward to reading more of Sasha Summers' work. From what I've read online, Hollywood Ever After is book one in the Red Carpet series. I'm unsure, as of yet, whether Hollywood Holiday, book two in the series, will continue the story of Claire and Josh or if it will focus on other characters all together, but I'm thrilled to know that there is more on the way.

Based on the title and cover, I kind of expected it to be a fun, light-hearted read so it was a bit unexpected on how much it went into spousal abuse. Although, unexpected, it did give the book more depth, but I felt like the book fell flat in the end. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is but I felt like it's missing something. I wanted just a bit more to hold on to.

REVIEW:
This was an interesting read. It’s written in the first person, which typically isn’t a good read for me but this one stood out. I think it stood out, not for the writing (although that was nice) but more so for the topic, the plot of the story. The plot surrounds something that could be considered touchy in today’s world but I believe Ms. Summers did a great job at relaying an important message. I enjoyed the build up and think the ending was perfectly placed.

The characters were great, I loved Josh and Claire and found myself following along in their building romance with ease. The sex scenes weren’t too much and the family time, the romance was spot on. I loved the secondary characters Ms. Summers brought to us and found myself loving each and every one of them as well.

The only problem I had with this book was pieces of the writing. It seems like a lot of it was fill in data, almost telling us things and I found extra words that didn’t make any sense or add to the sentence. Ms. Summers could have removed those extra words and made the book shine. Instead, I found myself frustrated by them at times.

Over all it really is an intriguing read and one that I will remember for years to come. I loved the message and enjoyed following the romance aspect of it. I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars. I look forward to watching Ms. Summer’s grow as a writer and watching this series play out.

Claire is a survivor. Recently divorced from her ex-husband, Daniel, she finds herself in a sort of limbo. Physically, she’s fine, now, but emotionally, her husband’s cruel words still haunt her. But when Josh enters her life, her world is about to change dramatically.

”Be right back.” Josh kissed my hand as I sat, and then went to join the other musicians setting up.
Victor spoke without opening his eyes. “I thought so.”
I jumped a little. I thought he was asleep. “Excuse me?”
“I could tell on the carpet he had his eye on you. He’s been hanging on your every word.”

Josh is twenty eight years old and Hollywood’s newest “it” boy. His movies are instant blockbusters. It was easy to fall for Josh. He’s gorgeous, charming, sweet and British. Gahh! I love everything British, especially British men. I think I say that everytime a Brit comes along in the stories I read. Can’t help it. I just LOVE ‘em. Anyway, I digress. So Josh is instantly intrigued by Claire and vise versa. She hasn’t felt these types of butterflies in her stomach in a long time, but she’s hesitant. It’s clear her insecurities were caused by Daniel and I was disturbed at how he used to treat her. But Josh isn’t Daniel, but why is Josh pursing her? What would a guy like him want with a woman, with so much baggage, want with her?

Though it was highly predictable and a pure fairytale, I really enjoyed it. I don’t mind the occasional insta-love stories, especially when they involve hot British actors. If you’re looking for a good, simple read, with the occasional steam thrown in, and don’t mind the instant love, then I think you will enjoy this story.

Hollywood Ever After is about starting over and overcoming difficult moments in life.

This book was great. Claire is a divorced mom who is trying to continue with her life after being in an abusive marriage. The story starts in Hollywood and Claire meets Hollywood heartthrob Josh. They start a relationship that some bumps in the road but fight to overcome them.

I really enjoyed this book. It sucked me in from the beginning, no dull moments.
Definitely a must read!

Loved, loved, loved this story. Sasha really captures Claire's (heroine's) struggle with trying to leave an abusive relationship behind versus believing her own self-worth and allowing love into her life again.
The chemistry between Josh and Claire is incredible and the secondary characters are a lovely mix of innocence and comic-relief.

This was a fun and sexy read. I fell in love with hero. It starts as a sexy fantasy that leads into a real life change. A mother of two gets a break from real life and falls into the arms of an upcoming Hollywood star. The only problem? He wants more. He is smart enough to know the real thing when he sees it. I thought this book was great! It was a sweet read with some predictability but a great read.

Claire has had some tough times being a victim but once she meets Josh and finds out what true love is she becomes a survivor.

Josh is awesome and I think he will have to be one of my book boyfriends one Monday. The locations in this book make you want to visit those places and chase dragons and sunsets.

This ened up being a super sweet love story. Josh was an awesome leading man - he never wavered in what he wanted - and gave his whole heart, right from the beginning. Clair was great too - brave and strong. Very sweet and satisfying story.

This book was just awesome. I couldn't put it down. I simply HAD to know what was going to happen next. I won't say much because I don't want to give anything away...BUT let's just say I wouldn't be surprised to see Josh popping up in a few of my own dreams!!

Just couldn't get into it. And have I mentioned that I hate 1st pov? Especially in a romance. Really. Totally fails for me.
