ooh, even better than the first one.(hopefully this review will be better than the first one; the one that i wrote and then accidentally deleted when i told my computer, "sure i would enjoy updating my security features very much" or whatever, and it rebooted this machine, erasing my first attempt...doofus)

this one brings us even further along in the situation of what happens when, in the aftermath of massive earthquakes (in canada!)many people turn into psychopathic killers with black-veined ey...more

I am trying so hard to like this series. Dark Inside was three stars for me and I'm also giving this three stars even though it is a better book than the first. The way I feel about Roberts' series is similar to how I feel about Revis' Across the Universe series. I like them well enough to be curious about what happens next, enough to search out the next book and hope I will like it more than I did the last one... but I do not care one teeny tiny bit for the characters. Where Revis' characters l...more

I cannot wait for this one. Seriously.

I'm on the blog tour, and I just finished it. SO GOOD. So VERY good.

I had high expectations for this one and I'm super glad all of them were met. The pacing is fast and the tone is creeptastic. Sprinkled in every few chapters is the viewpoint of Nothing. This is the evil that resides in all the Baggers. It raises a lot of questions as to what or who it is. The characters know just as little as we do, so it's safe to say that I can't wait to bring until that...more

HOLY GALLOPING ABS BATMAN!!!

Dude! This was so good! Even better than the first one.

This starts out 3 weeks before the earthquakes. We are given a little insight into a man who killed his family, Mason witnessing a friend push another friend off a bridge, Aries and Sara watching a riot break out in downtown Vancouver, Daniel seeing a shrink after beating up another boy, and of course Nothing and his infinite wisdom.

The we are back with the group as it nears Christmas and the Baggers send out whi...more

(Just to clarify, this is a good three stars, not a reluctant 3 stars, so maybe 3.5 is more accurate. Or 4. I don’t know, I can’t decide.)

Rage Within opens three months after the earthquakes, with Aries, Michael, Mason and Clementine hiding out in Vancouver with a group of survivors. The Baggers are becoming organised, their homicidal rampage now punctuated with hunting down and rounding up the uninfected. Nobody is safe – whether it’s from the Baggers, or the threat of their own darkness insid...more

I got the first book over Christmas break and just started it yesterday. Finished now. Want the second book NOW. They better have Nothing's point of view again. I liked him. It was *spoiler?* Daniel right? He better not die!! And I'm so glad this is a series, I thought it was going to end like that.

Oof. Devastated. Uplifted. All of it. Everything I hoped for. More, really.

Deft, thought provoking, illuminating, full of fragile hope and endless heartbreak.

RAGE WITHIN picks up pretty much where DARK INSIDE leaves off, with Michael, Mason, Clem, and Aries (along with their small group of survivors) still figuring out how to stay alive in the new, Bagger-run world. As with the first installment of the series, the characters are believable and well-rounded, with honest motivations and the endl...more

Last year, I picked up a copy of Rage Inside from my local library, not knowing much about it and having not read a zombie-type book before (okay, they're technically not zombies, but some characters are in a zombie-like state). I was very glad that I did pick it up as I really, really enjoyed it. The only problem was, I had to wait for the second book to be released! When I finally held a copy of Rage Within, I was so excited to delve into it.

I'll be honest and say that I can't remember Dark In...more

By Jeyn Roberts. #2 of Dark Inside Series. Grade A.

After reading the first book, Dark Inside, I wanted to read the next book as the adventure that began in book 1 was too intriguing to leave… Here’s what I thought about this book :
The thrilling sequel to DARK INSIDE.

Rage Within By Jeyn Roberts
Time to stop running. Time to start fighting back.
After the earthquakes came the infectious rage, turning friends into deadly enemies.
For survivors Michael, Aries, Mason and Clementine the battle to stay al...more

I enjoyed Dark Inside that I immediately hit up my library for Rage Within, the sequel.

The book starts with some of the events from three months before the earthquakes, including a bit more information on Daniel's past, as well as how the people who would become Baggers were affected well before the big explosion. Then we move ahead to sometime just before Christmas, a few weeks after the first book ended.

Let's see. Aries is still meeting up with mysterious boy Daniel. Clementine is still lookin...more

Endlich erfahren wir wie es mit unseren Hauptpersonen weiter geht!! Schon die Einleitung war Hammer, "Nothing": "I know you missed me. I missed me too."!!

On many sites this book has good reviews, four or more stars, so my opinion is slightly different. After reading her first book, Dark Inside, I had high hopes that this book would be as riveting, interesting and inspiring as the last. Sadly, I found myself disappointed in this book.

The writing style of this book is similar and still good, to a point. There are times where some of the writing appears disjointed and some of the “voice” that was created in the first book gets lost. Writing style a...more

I'm pretty sure this book is the cause of a weeks worth of nightmares, but those sleepless nights were without a doubt worth it. Dark inside, the first in the series, is dark, twisted, and undeniably brilliant. Rage within is more of the same stuff. Carrying on from where dark inside left off, there was none of the over common curse of the second book. The plot was gripping, memorable and unpredictable - the characters, though at points irritating, were believable. I ended the book wanting to re...more

The second book in the series and all I have to say is wow!

Jeyn Roberts has kept the same thriller descriptions to bring chaos and death to a world gone wrong. Throughout the book I just kept thinking how disturbing the whole story is… so I would say Roberts has been successful in portraying what she wanted! In this book it is clear how much rage the ‘Baggers’ have within them as the violence is as gruesome as ever. I admire how Roberts has written these scenes because she has portrayed them in...more

This was just so...wow. So many emotions...so much of everything that made it simply amazing.

Dark Inside was ALRIGHT. I liked it, but I also found some of the pacing a bit slow. Rage Within was SO MUCH BETTER. The characters were so well rounded and developed since book 1, the plot was quick and so exciting; it was just SO GOOD. I cannot recommend this enough. To be honest, the whole post apocolypic thing/dystopian book trend is getting a bit old for me, but these books are much different than t...more

I actually wound up getting this book on my Kindle, since it wasn't out in the store where I work. I took advantage of the fact that I have 3G on my Kindle and, while waiting for a lift back from work Saturday morning, found the book and downloaded it.

I liked the first book. I actually really do like books with horror in them and book one was scary enough to freak me out when I was reading it at night. The idea of lots of people in the world turning into monste...more

i'm giving this book four stars instead of five for two reasons.

1. no one will tell me if there is another book coming out in the series. not on goodreads, not on the authors blog, or website...and if rage within was the end of the series and that is how IT ENDS. FOR-EV-ER. i am going to be one pissed off puppy. aries little chat with daniel and mason's hope for the future is NOT an ending to the lives of these characters--not after so many revelations in the last few chapters.

2. a few, a small...more

Rage Within was an exercise in pain. At one hand, I couldn't wait to find out what happens next. But how to deal with this awesome book slowly coming to an end? It was hard. I couldn't find it in me to stop since Jeyn Roberts always left me wanting for more. It had been painful. Extremely painful. Because on the other hand, I had to watch characters I had come to love go through so much. Jeyn Roberts has been merciless. And that is exactly why I love this book. It is a conjunction of such strong...more

It was so hard to put this book Down! Loved it very much, although, not as much as Dark Inside. The reason why is simple: i feel Like this book was a little less realistic, somehow, which was one og the tings that i peticulary loved about the first book. Also, i feel Like this one turned to be a little more teenage-drama centert, and normaly i dont mind that, but i just Think theres already too many og those kind of books. But for the positive side; tis an incredibly exiting book about a group o...more

I loved Dark Inside (as much as you can love such a chilling book) and so was eager to get my hands on Rage within.

***This is book 2 in the series, there will be spoilers for Dark Inside, so don't read on if you've not read it yet***

Rage Within starts before the earthquakes, it sticks to the 5 main POV's from the first book, and the reader finds out a little about before the baggers started to rise. It jumps about in time a little, but its easy enough to follow, NOTHING is still there, still pr...more

So not to long ago i read the first installment to this series...and i was not impressed. I felt as though it was hard to connect with the main characters due to all the extra jumping around. It's extremely hard to jump from 1 POV to another POV...but...

Book was really good. It makes me kind of want to go back and reread the first book to make sure i didn't judge to irrationaly. My heart truly goes out to Daniel...I love his character...but i'm at odds and in the middle of a serious g...more

I don't know what it is about this series but I get instantly hooked in from the moment I pick up the book. Thank goodness I am on vacation and can plow through it without work getting in the way.

The tale continues with the cast of characters from the last book trying to survive. Of course, obstacles get in the way and chaos ensues. I really like the twists and turns that the book takes. There is a constant adventure where there are hardly any silent moments. I cannot read fast enough to see wha...more

This book starts off several weeks before the disastrous earthquakes, to show a little more into the lives of Aries, Clementine, Michael, Mason, and even Daniel (I got really excited over that part!). At first this glimpse into the time before just added to my confusion about the darkness and how it came about I kept second guessing what I thought I’d figured out in the last book. Once the book returns to the current day, the group has taken up residence in Vancouver for good trying to survive a...more

I picked up Rage Within right after the high of Dark Inside and I am so pleased to say I was not disapointed, if anything Rage Within topped Dark Inside just a smidgen. Rage Within picks up where Dark Inside left off and Jeyn Roberts has managed to build upon her fabulously complex world, the characters became more in-depth and the storyline was taken to a whole other level. The writing is mind chillingly good and as with Dark Inside the descriptors are a a real treat. Relationships have been fo...more

After I enjoyed book 1 I immediately picked this book to read more about the teens and the crazy world they were living in.

What I liked most was the part where we got to know a bit more about the main characters before the apocalypse happened. I would have liked to get to know them a bit more still.

it was the same formula as with book 1. Main characters had their own chapters where they told their stories. A very high pace and we get to know a bit more of why this is happening. Reading some othe...more

I was so lucky to win a signed ARC of Rage Within from Jeyn Roberts herself, that in itself is awesome but what makes it even better is that this books is so good! It's even better than Dark Inside, and that's saying something as book one was great. You can tell the Roberts has grown as a writer while writing the two books, and I can't wait to see how good her next book will be. Rage Within is a truly chilling novel, just like the first one it keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. The horr...more

I'll keep this short, and if you want to know more about my opinion, just look at the 5 star rating on both this and Dark Inside, and read my long Dark Inside Review.

The characters continued to amaze me, and Roberts kept the whole story going, and the Darkness was so not who I thought it was, although, I probably should've seen that one coming, considering, looking back, it was kind of obvious.

The complexity of this world is so cool, and I love how Roberts moved the whole thing to Canada and not...more
