Loved this book. The characters are interesting and have normal reactions to things. They are so well written I can actually picture them inside my head.
Great storyling, very different. Would recommend this book.
Brilliant book, couldn't put it down. A book to take on holiday, but make sure you take others because you will read this too quickly

Kaye Vincent took me through a terrific journey through an enigmatic landscape where the destinies of different interesting characters are woven into a tapestry that reveals such unexpected finishes. Music and Poetry, all done by the author, bring the transitions to life throughout the story. Although it's almost overwhelming to keep track of the many different relationships throughout the build up, you will inevitably pick your favorites (good luck with that because there are so many good ones) ...more

Recommends it for: Everyone
This is a superbly crafted and expertly developed debut novel, in my humble opinion. There's no doubt that The Treeman has been a labour of love for author Kaye Vincent. There's a rich tapestry of colourful characters in this mini epic of a magical tale. The story, centred around Izzy who gets caught up in a gripping mêlée of emotions and relationships, is delivered at quite a pace. There are few wasted words in this book and there are surprises all the way. It's intriguing and very compelling. ...more
I really tried with this. I honestly did. I couldn't get past 36%. I think that's a fair try. It bugged me to no end. I couldn't get into it enough to read it in long stretches. I found the characters exaggerated and too literally described.

Some things in this book made me cringe; descriptions that sounded like they were written by a twenty-year-old. At one point, a man in the book who is at least 30 is given dialogue of a MUCH younger man and it just didn't sound believable.

Part of me really
Loved this first book in The Hanningdon Magic Series – started it on a Sunday and couldn’t put it down, finishing it at 5.30am on the Thursday of the same week! I always knew there was more to village life and here you have it in Kaye Vincent’s debut novel where Hanningdon village becomes the stage for the confluence of a series of intertwined stories which just beg you to turn over the pages to find out what is going to happen next! It’s a tale for all ages, including the search for self, stron ...more
I was intrigued when I picked up this book- gypsies and magic and trees- but it was a real disappointment. The prose was confusing, disjointed, and grammatically incorrect- occasionally poetically and intentionally, but usually just proved the author's ineptitude and lack of a copy editor. The characters were, frankly, annoying, unduly light-minded, disturbing, and odd. I'm sorry to say that I did not get very far into this book before I had to set it down.

The Treeman!...What a captivating, entrancing and dreamy read with heart racing moments. I felt like the characters manifested into people that I knew and grew to love and truly became a part of my life that I will never forget. Please hurry and write more to the Hanningdon series as I haven't quite had enough of their intoxicating journey of excitement. Highly Recommended, opens up to a whole new world, very addictive read.
