Fans of sports romances
I absolutely loved this book! Why? First, it's a sports romance (my favorite). Second, the snappy writing. Funny, super sexy, with plenty of sharp, witty dialogue and plenty of sparring between the H/h, superstar hockey goalie Luc Martineau and the reporter assigned to cover his team, "natural" girl Jane Alcott. I'd say this is more like a 3+ story that I'm tempted to bump up to a 3.5/4 for the delicious tension and chemistry between the main characters. There were definitely some laugh out loud moments, and I liked the book, humor, and storytelling as a whole. The climax/misunderstanding was a little overblown and exaggerated in my opinion, but the epilogue was pitch perfect for me and left me with a smile on my face. At first I couldn't believe that I would possibly enjoy any Chinook book if it didn't have The Wall, Lexie and Georgie present but boy did Gibson prove me wrong. If it is at all possible I may have enjoyed See Jane Score just as much as I enjoyed Simply Irresistible. Knowing that Gibson does not fall within my normal genre of choice ... Luc was the epitome of hotness. The mysterious bad boy who everyone wants a piece of. Jane was, well, a Jane. As simple as a girl can be. Yet under her facade of plainness, an enticing character is lurking. Luc made that character emerge. See Jane Score was interesting. However, I see it as a bit anti-climatic. Ending was lacking. I did not feel that sense of exhilarating lightheartedness every time I finish a rom-com novel.

WOW!! I absolutely loved this book. It just seemed to be perfect for me. Being a former hockey player myself probably made me love it as much as i did. It seemed very authentic to me and you can tell the author put some effort into gathering information about the game rather than just making up her own version just to be able to use the hockey theme. I was very impressed by this. Didn't expect that at all. Also didn't think hockey would play that much of a role in the storyline.

I like this series, and I like this story. However as I'm beginning to read through them I'm noticing a huge weakness in Gibson's writing and it contributes to her stories feeling seriously lacking in some ways. I saw it in the first one and here too. There is no transition of the guy's feelings, in this case Luc's. One second he sees Jane as a nobody, the next he's thinking about getting her naked. I finished this book last night and while I remember most of what happened, nothing positive sticks out.
I didn't like the way Jane treated herself. Her low self-esteem was bad enough, but to then be in denial about it is just shitty icing on a crap cake.

Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite author in this genre. In See Jane Score she actually deliver her charm and wit which makes her books unique.

A second helping of hockey players, I was pretty excited to dive into the second book in this series. I was a little sad to see the first two hockey players we got to meet in the first to be retired and completely out of the picture. But at the same time, it makes the story more believable since all the hockey players aren't getting their own girls too quickly to make it cheesy or eye roll worthy.

I think this book is Rachel Gibson's triumph (its rated the highest in most review sections).
I'm not particularly surprised as the characters are actually quite interesting, the writing style is reasonable, the plot engrossing and the chemistry explosive.

So...on the good side, Rachel Gibson can write some reasonably compelling characters, so I didn't hate this book quite as much as the 1st Chinooks Hockey Team series book which was overall just a complete stinker for me.
On the bad side, Seattle has a lot of water, but we do not have a "bay" - totally annoying. And Rachel continues to prove that her knowledge of hockey is 2nd only possibly to a slug...and there are lots of slugs in the PNW, so they probably know more about hockey than Rachel, OMG...more

It was interesting to watch, to develop relationship with Jane and Luc. Both of them are focused on careers, but also Luc was still his orphanage sister, Jane is afraid of contact.

See Jane Score by Rachel Gibson was a frustrating book, especially for a Canadian (and Edmontonian no less!) like me. I don't think the author has ever actually met a Canadian in her life. She seems to think that we all say "aboot" and "eh". I was impressed that she didn't have us living in igloos with polar bears too!

I've had this book in my TBR for quite some time. I bought it after I'd read a couple of Ms. Gibson's books and loved them. Then I didn't read it because the hero is a hockey player. I know nothing about hockey except that they use a puck instead of a ball. I didn't even realize they had American hockey teams - I thought it was a Canadian sport.
