I just finished reading this, and I was nearly in tears. Katie Porter (aka Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown) did an amazing job in Hold 'Em of revealing what one couple's living the BDSM lifestyle might look like, and Leah and Michael were just mind-blowing together.

Sigh. I liked the first in this series. I LOVED the second, but there was something that felt off to me with this one. It's still a good book, and if you've read the first two, you'll want to read this one as well.

When I read my first Katie Porter story, I was blown away. But I was cautious as I started this book as I don't really like dominant women in a BDSM relationship. I've enjoyed all the heroes and heroines in this series, but my absolute favorite has to be Leah and Mike. The teasing banter, the hotter-than-hell looks, the sexual innuendos all mounted up to an explosive union. 3.5 stars - I needed to read this book because of Ryan and Jon's stories, you needed to know what happens with Leah, the problem is, Leah isn't all that likeable. Now, Mike, he is very nice guy and it is easy to get inside his head and why he act and does what he does. He is only a sub in sexual situations, and even then, he performs oh so well. I have to thank the authors for many things about this book, first of course is that although this book is connected to the two other books (Double Down, Inside Bet) which built up this story, these are STANDALONE stories, no need to buy a bunch of other books or wait for some concluding book to come out after 12 months because the last book ended in a cliffhanger. So good. Everything I expected and more. Possibly the best story of a Domme and sub that I've ever read. I really got why it is so powerful when a big, strong guy chooses to submit. One quibble - I'm didn't fully buy that Leah was able to quit drinking and stay sober for six plus months while still going out w her friends to bars. Then again, they skip the first six months she gets on the wagon. Author's discretion, I suppose.

This is a fantastic series. Great writing, compelling characters, and steamy sexy times make me me thrilled to have found this series. The characters are such a great family to each other and the stories continue to build around each HEA. I was anxious to see where Leah was headed based on her extremely destructive behavior in the last books. Her and Mike are a perfect fit!

Warning: This book contains a hot stud on his knees, a woman wielding a paddle, and filthy-gorgeous femdom sex. Also: dangerous rock climbing, two amazing motorcycles and some bad tequila.

When I read that Hold’em by Katie Porter featured a submissive male and a female dominate, I was skeptical but curious. I haven’t had really good luck in the past when reading erotic romance where there is a submissive male.

I liked both characters and believed their relationship could work. I was skeptical at first, but in the end, I found that I really enjoyed this reversal of roles in the bedroom in what I usually read in romance.

I love Leah so I was excited for this book. Slightly disappointed, not because of the storyline, but the scenes seemed forced at time. Still a great read

Nicely written, paced well, good tension between the 2 lead characters. I found myself really caring about them.

This was a cute, quick read about a reunited couple, who both happen to be young, gorgeous, and fighter pilots (!!!) and how she learns to be a Domme for him.

Its Okay, not Great, and I can't even really tell you why I didn't like it better. It just ended up boring me while I was waiting for them to finally admit they were in Lurrve.................

I loved the story but I struggled a bit with Leah's character being unsure of herself as a Domme. I tend to think of Doms/Domme's as confident and controlled. She often is insecure and out of control. While I LIKE the idea of a female Domme and man with a masochistic kink. It might have worked better for me if Leah had been knowledgeable about BDSM going in to her time with Michael.

Good story! I kept waiting for the connection between Leah and Mike. Finally by the end of the book it showed up. Love this series. Two more books!!! YAY.
