C.C. Hunter wrote an amazing sequel to Born at Midnight. Everything I loved about Born at Midnight was present in Awake at Dawn. Awake at Dawn is absolutely unputdownable. I read this book in record time. I got up an hour early in the morning to read, I read on the bus on my way to class, I even ignored my friends at break time in order to immerse myself in Kylie's story.

Awake at dawn is a delightful read with a plot full of twists and turns, genuine emotions that reach your heart and make you

Can't stop won't stop I seriously love this series!!

Awesome sequel!!! These books I don't even know what about them but I just go through them so fast!! They are funny and even at some points I was crying just in love!!! Only complaint is that for certain parts it's very predictable
Brilliant sequel.

I thought we'd finally find out what Kylie truly is in this installment... So it kinda dragged a bit and got a tad frustrating but next time maybe eh?

Born at Midnight was a great start to this series. I liked the writing, and even though Kylie was boring sometimes, it was still enjoyable. I didn't like certain things about it, like the shallow romance, and the mistery about what Kylie was.
I hoped that, in Awake at Dawn, those things would develop, and we'd get to know a lot more about Shadow Falls. I can say, for sure, that this didn't happen.
Well, to start with, Kylie doesn't know what she is. She spends the first half of the book searchin

I would like to just say I NEED MORE LUCAS! Okay so you might guess I am a total hot werewolf fan. While I loved every minute he was in this book, I would like more, lots and lots more!!

Awake at Dawn is a fantastic sequel. All of our favorites are back and just as loveable as before. Its just a fun new series with an amazing set of characters, one hot werewolf (okay the fairy is too, lol) and lots of mystery. Kylie is still trying to figure out what supernatural she really is. Now she is gaining

Saying I was thrilled when Awake at Dawn arrived on my doorstep would out it lightly. I was beyond thrilled because after finishing Born At Midnight I was in love with the story, the characters and CC's writing. I devoured Awake at Dawn in one day and needless to day I was sad when it was over...

We are back in Shadow Falls with Kylie, her great friends, the boys and the camp leaders. Kylie still has no clue who she is and what she will become other than knowing and finally accepting her ghost-w
“Life isn't supposed to be easy. Generally speaking, the harder something is the more rewarding the results will be.”

This is one of series that seem to get better with each book. I am glad I decided to read this one.

In this book a new ghost starts to visit Kylie and warns her that someone she loves will die soon, but Kylie does not understand whom she has to save.
Moreover, there is the problem with vampire attacks and her supernatural identity. The hints are all contradictory and Kylie is m

This is a nice sequel. Though I still prefer the first book.

It's still funny and adventurous and full of teen dramas.... which gets a bit annoying at times.

Kylie is still trying to discover what she is. Is she a vampire? werewolf? shapeshifter? fairy? She's still confused with her feelings for Derek and Lucas but decided to give Derek a chance. And I must agree with Lucas, Derek is an idiot. Derek is patient and understanding guy BUT what the hell was he thinking?!? As for Lucas I'm getting fon

I love this series. It just works for me. The whole "growth spurt" thing had me rolling my eyes though. What's that? You woke up with bigger boobs, longer hair and are a couple of inches taller? Your milkshake is now bringing all the boys to the yard? The struggle is real.

I do hope that mystery is solved in the next book before a J-Lo butt is thrown in. Other than that, it was a great book, and I can't wait to start the next one.

Kylie doesn’t know what she is. Kylie kisses a boy. Kylie has a sudden not-so-climatic event. Kylie still doesn’t what she is. Kylie is at the end of book two.
For me, that was exactly what it was like reading this book. I remember I complained about the fact that Hunter didn’t use first person in the first installment of this series and unfortunately I have to do it again. In my opinion, if you’re going to write in third person, you should write in a way that your characters name isn’t repeated

The Good: Kylie still doesn't know what she is, so that still annoys the hell out of me. But, she's getting there. She's dealt. She's accepted. Most of the time, she still has a ghost issue. She's figuring it all out and it's extremely interesting. I love her getting closer with Miranda and Della. They have a very authentic teen girls at camp getting becoming friends thing going on, with all the insecurity and vulnerability that goes with that. Add in the varied types of paranormal they are and ...more

I liked this book, but not as much as the first. It was still fun and I, of course, still love CC's writing. I just really want to know what Kylie is and I keep thinking come onnnnn already...I guess that's what she wants us to be like though, isn't it? As far as the boys I am definitely liking Derek, but I really seem to be in the minority it seems based on some reading I did on her blog. Most of her fans love Lucas. I do too! I just like Derek more :p

As in the first book I find the friends to

OH my goodness I LOVE this cover<333 I can't wait for this book! Come quickly!!! <3

Fantastic sequel! I loved every part it. I loved discovering what Kylie was discovering, feeling what Kylie felt, and watching her grow. I have to admit, boy wise, I was Team Lucas after Born At Midnight. But, now, after Awake At Dawn, I am kind of split. Derek is just the all around great guy, with sexy green eyes and then there's also Lucas who you can't help but loving. ARRRGGG I'm not sure
I remember liking the first book well enough to make a note to read this second one. But... why??? I can 't remember why I liked it enough to do so now. I pretty much skimmed through this book because I found myself losing interest really early on and zoning out. I just couldn't get into the characters, I just couldn't care about the plot, and I just couldn't stay focused on what was happening because it was all ridiculous roll-your-eyes teenaged angst. Sorry, I gave this book a shot but I'm not ...more
What a boring book. I was only reading it to find out who she is. BUT, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS. I read spoilery reviews and so I will not be finishing this boring series.

The story is sooo great! Not particularly original, but totally my taste. Only little thing: I sometimes don't understand why people act the way they do and say the things they do. Some things don't feel normal to me. Other than that: great read!
Esperanza Writes Too

The book continues the story right after the ending of 'Born at Midnight'. Kylie doesn't know what she is yet and despite all of this, not only doesn't she know who she really loves, but there's a spirit telling her that somebody she loves is going to die at the end of summer if Kylie doesn't stop it.
The first half of the book wasn't, personally thinking, as good as the second half because of the lack of Lucas' presence. But C. C. Hunter made up for it so good during the second half that it d

More of my reviews @

Awake at Dawn is the second book in the Shadow Falls series by C.C Hunter and continues on where Born at Midnight left off.

Our main protagonist Kylie Galen is still trying to work out where she fits in at the Shadow Falls camp for supernatural beings. She has settled into their world and is slowly discovering new and exciting abilities but no-one is able to tell her exactly what she is.

Throughout this story, Kylie has a ghost trying to give
This series is pretty great.
The first time I read this book I was legit blown away by how freaking awesome it was.
But now.....
Well, don't get me wrong, it's still super, but it wasn't exactly as I had first remembered it.
Oh well though, there goes my too high expectations......tsk tsk.....
So basically, besides that negative point, this book is a perfect second installment.
The characters....great. The plot....can you say confusing? Yet in a good way and its so mysterious.
Oh god the drama and come

Not too long ago I read Born At Midnight and I really liked it. It was natural that I would read Awake at Dawn and I'm glad I did. Kylie has a spirit visiting her, saying that she has to save someone but the ghost won't tell her who. Lucas ran away with Fredericka but visits her in her dreams. Derek wants Kylie to forget Lucas but how can she?
Shadow Falls is a series that is very addicting! C.C. Hunter created

I just made up my mind, seeing I just read all in quick succession, that my stars for this series is going to be decreasing in the coming future. This is so because:
1. No self respecting person is going to lead another guy on just because you heard a 'rumor' the guy you love is shacking up with another girl. That's just one step closer to being that woman on her fourth husband.
2. It is true we girls love a bad boy, but I never heard anything about a bad boy with no baggage so I have nothing to s

An easy read. But I must admit, at the first half of the book, all I could think of is, "when is Lucas coming back?" Maybe I should give more attention to Derek, huh?!

Love the conversation that Kylie and Holidays have at times, especially the one at the beginning of the book.

Holiday put her hand on top of Kalie's head. "When one door closes, find another." Kalie gazed back up. "And what if there isn't another door?" "Then you try the window." "And if there isn't a window?" Kylie asked. "Then
