Review:

"Her Latin Lover" by Katheryn Lane was a good romantic read. Only after being brought by Don Paulo from a poker game did Marry realize that her jerk of a boyfriend had sold her to him? What? Not only had Mary found out that she had been sold to this Don Paulo (Latin person) but that she (Mary) had a resemblance of a person he had once loved. Mary was from London and had come to...more

Mary Delaney, a young school teacher from London, wakes up in a dingy hotel in rural South America. She’s been abandoned and left penniless by her partying boyfriend. On top of that, she learns that a local man has taken ownership of her during a card game. The man who won Mary in the card game is haunted by his family’s a sorrowful and violent past. Recommends it for: anyone looking for a great romance
I thoroughly enjoyed Her Latin Lover by author Katheryn Lane! Mary Delaney was a refreshing leading lady, full of spunk, determination, and spirit. There was such great chemistry between Mary and the sexy Paulo, I couldn’t stop reading. I finished this novel in 24 hours, which is saying a lot, as I have two preschoolers to keep up with! I was pulled into the exotic location and could feel the heat…from the Latin American countryside to the characters! This is a delightful tale full of danger, ex...more

Katheryn Lane had me at hello! Her Latin Lover is a wonderful blend of spunkiness and romance. It has to be everyone's worst fear to be stuck in a foreign country without any friends or money. Fortunately there is a handsome man who is willing to come to the rescue of the damsel in distress, but this damsel is no one to be messed with. She has backbone to spare. Of course you can't have a romance without a little mutual attraction and lots of flat-out chemistry. If you have ever fantasized about...more

As I’m sitting at my computer trying to write this review, I’m finding it hard to put my words on “paper”. As much as I wanted to like this book, in some ways it fell flat for me and lessened my reading enjoyment. That said, it wasn’t a bad book, but perhaps just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I think a big part of my discontent was that I found it hard to like Mary. And if I’m not liking the main characters...more

An intriguing read that would not let me set it down!

Thank God it was a free book. I would have been irate if I would have bought this book. Ok, irate might not be the correct word. I would have been disappointed. It had no character development, the plot development was weak, and the there was no chemistry. There was absolutely nothing good about this book. The level of writing was like one of my students in 8th grade. I am not talented in writing at all and I believe I could write a book like this one. I would have been impressed if my 8th grade...more

Did I like it or didn't I?, that is the question... Mary seemed quite juvenile, didn't connect with her at all. It was a quick read and sexy but mysterious Paulo managed to keep me intrigued. Mary's boyfriend or ex as it turns out is a real prick and I really had this need to punch his lights out. I can't go beyond giving this book a 3/5. Lucky it was a freebie otherwise I would have been disappointed in spending my money on an unsatisfactory read.

I am once again shocked to see a ton of five star reviews for what was, to me, an awful book. So cliche, with obstacles and stupid implausible misunderstandings purposely thrown in the path of the two main characters. So much didn't make any sense. And the whole thing just felt so contrived and cheesy. Even though I got it for free, I need to stop reading!

3 and a half Stars. An entertaining tale.

I am on the fence with this one it was a easy read and I liked the ending but Mary I just couldn't really like her. It was ok for a free book

Getting stuck in a Latin American country by an idiot of a boyfriend. She makes the best of it and finds the love of a lifetime.

DNF - Nothing in the plot was plausible. The writing was amateurish at best.
Pam
Interesting story, very predictable and trite ending
Melanie
I found Mary to be very juvenile.

I’m a wife, teacher, author and mother of two boisterous boys, so most of my days are taken up with finding lost school shoes, getting stuck in traffic and wondering why I always join the queue that doesn’t move in the supermarket. However, I try to forget these daily problems (and the fact that I burnt the toast again this morning) by losing myself in a good book and writing novels that give read...more
